@disneymagicgirl SO, I was hanging out with my boys at a friend's house today. Well, I forgot the snacks I was supposed to bring so I texted my dd17 and asked if she wouldn't mind running them over to us (she & my other dd have had sleepover after sleepover all week long - spring break here). She says their friends just left and they will head over. They drove right over and brought the snacks...and stayed...sat down with us moms and chatted. It was so fun! We had the best time, all four of us hanging out and chatting and snacking for like 2 hours. Later I told my girls how fun it was that they stayed there instead of just dropping the snacks and leaving and they said they had never planned to just leave and that...get this...they ENJOY hanging out with me and my friends!!! I texted my friend and told her and we both feel like such cool moms now :teeth: There really is something so gratifying about your teens WANTING to hang out with you.

But if I don't do work from 10-1 each night how will I surf the DIS all day...

But how are you working from 10-1 if you are here on the board?? When do you work, exactly...? :duck:

Sorry the board has been dead at night lately. That is partially my fault. It's been a long week here. I cannot tell you how many teen girls have passed through my doors, with most of them staying all day and all night. If I had my spg biz card before today, I could have met half my spend on the groceries I have purchased for these teen girls. They love chips and chocolate. In huge quantities. Seriously, my dh & I always said we wanted our house to be 'the hangout house' for friends and ours is, and I'm thrilled that my kids like having their friends here and their friends like being here but of my goodness, they cost so much money to feed! Tomorrow is a family day but starting Saturday morning, they come back lol!

i think so. it used to be super easy to pull the 30k incognito. It really depends on what you have with chase. If there isnt much left with chase, i would break 5/24 and go for it. I myself was at 3/24 broke out to SPG Personal with the 35k. I already have the quadfecta so there isnt much else i really wanted. I mean 5k missing... isnt much compared to 30k. I think SOMETHING is going on some time in August this year. I saw someone report it on one of the bloggers site about it never though much until it was posted again in /r/churning today... except the /r/churning suggest SPG site going away, which means there might be some changes coming to the program... It kinda scares me.
I'm definitely giving it some consideration for my wife in early summer. I could refer her from mine so that's 32,500 for $3k spend (35,500 if you include the base points from hitting the MSR)...of course I don't exactly need more Marriott/SPG points right now, but they are my 3rd favorite currency (SW=1, UR=2).

If this were to happen do you think consumers would be given a grace period to move their points before it went away? I just got approved for the SPG Biz yesterday, after much consideration on my part. This 7k spend is going to REALLY stretch us, especially since my dh got the CIP a few weeks ago, just days before this SPG offer came out. I would be very disappointed if I scraped to make the spend only to be stuck with points I can't get transferred to my air miles account.

im pretty sure they will. I highly doubt they just shut down and force us into a bad position... from other merging programs like alaska/Virgin A merge, they offered people bonuses(i think it was 10k?) to transfer your miles over. As for what will happen, no one really knows. Most bloggers believe there will be a major devaluation. I discuss this with some pretty knowledgeable churners, most believe Marriott wont devaluated as much since SPG is a pretty big program, an elite one. If you somewhat downgrade it, your gonna piss off quite a lot of people. Remember, SPG was bought in 2016. Marriott has been trying to figure out how not to piss off SPG customers for the past 2 years.

I personally think they will continue allowing the 1:3 into Marriott and the new cards will earn Marriott Points only.

:) In the world of commercial banking...my job is to basically land 10 big deals a year. I definitely enjoy a sales job, lol!

I maybe should have done this instead of the spg biz offer. I was really torn on which to do but I caved to the higher biz offer. I do think the spg personal is worth burning a */24 spot on if there is nothing else from Chase you are in a hurry to get.

They've handled this transition so well up to this point...I also find it hard to believe that they will screw it up in the 11th hour now.

seems to work... im assuming your just getting the card just in case if it really goes away? i always think SPG points going to a ton of different airlines could help in the future.
SW sucks... :P
I have a friend with like 130k SW points... that couldnt even get her to where she wanted to go. lol. She was so pissed. UR helped her out a lot.
Im not familiar with SW though, do those transfer elsewhere? I like versatile points. ie MR, TYP, UR, SPG...

SW ROCKS!!! You just have to be in the right market to use their points. We fly SW everywhere though so their points are invaluable to us. I flew all 6 of us from DEN to MCO for just under 80k points last Sept. No paying extra for bags, seats, snacks, air to breathe, etc.

Having said that, I do really love UR...and learning to appreciate MR and SPG.

SW points don't really transfer to other partners at a good rate, as far as I know, but I could be wrong cause I use mine with SW.

seems like a CSP and CSR hybrid...

Shes in LA with me, so SW does make sense. Was kinda giving her hell for getting a CP considered that she is still single. :P
SW cards, the only thing useful is that CP but other than that, idk why u would swipe them. UR goes to SW just fine... Thats just me though.

Yeah - with the AMEX once per lifetime rule I hate to see a card go away that we never got. Also @wendow is right...in the correct market SW is awesome. From Pittsburgh i can go nonstop to Orlando, Tampa, Ft Myers, Phoenix, Chicago, Las Vegas, Nashville and LAX (and numerous other cities that just don’t interest me as much). No other airline does that for us lol. From my spreadsheet I know I’ve gotten over $10,000 in value out of my SW PTS in the past 4 years and we still have $9,000 worth of points remaining. There’s a reason they are my #1 :D

I did the SPG Biz because I didn't want to waste a /24 spot, and with the MSR I will have over 40k to turn into 50k air miles. Plus I tried for days to get the 35k incognito to show up, and it was not EVER going to happen!

My backup plan with SW is Target gift cards at $.01 per point. You have to have their CC to cash out via gift cards. I consider it part of my emergency fund. In a pinch I can get almost $6k in Target cards. LOL!

That is a good backup plan. We are never without one SW CC. However, I just cringe at the thought of cashing out my precious SW points for Target. Hopefully, we never need that backup plan!

i saw a lot of ppl mention using Opera Browser.

I went with the biz too so my decision is made but I'm on the fence as to whether it was the best decision because I can still easily pull up the incognito offer of 30k for 3k spend. But even better, I could use my dh's referral for 32.5k for 3k spend. That is so much more desirable than 35k for 7k spend. BUT I didn't add to my */24. I really want the CIC and at this point, dh is eligible now and I would be by June. Had I gone for the spg personal, I'd have pushed myself out to the fall. Maybe the CIC offer will be around then, maybe not??

Don't have that one. Oh well, saving my /24 to try the CSR/CSP double dip this fall. (If I survive this CIP/SPG 12k spending blitz. Pretty sure I'll be investigating some MS options soon. Something I said I wasnt going to do!)
