Any suggestions for free Fairmont nights?
Looks like Chase discontinued their Fairmont card last year, did not see any new companies picking them up.

I have been on the DisBoards for awhile, but recently started reading some of the pages. I can't keep up there is so much written every day! I have been doing the points game for 5 or 6 years, but only to pay for a few trips a year. We have lots of AmEx cards, but I want to add a few Chase cards. My DH is at 2/24 (both last Oct) and I am at 3/24. I have the CSP (DH is an AU), CSR, CIC (Biz). He doesn't have any, but getting him to make calls isn't the easiest! After reading these comments, I am leaning to getting the CIP and cancelling the CSP. The main reason we kept the CSP was so my DH could have primary insurance when renting cars. The CIP is appealing for the primary insurance and the 3x for college bills, taxes, etc. I also would like to get either the CF or CFU. I am not one to get cards and then cancel a year later. When I sign up, I plan to keep them for a while. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Also, I saw someone mention going through the Chase portal to reserve Disney hotels. They mentioned using the portal to get 1.5 points for the dining plan. How do you add the dining plan? I have reserved several Disney rooms through the portal but didn't realize you could do the dining plan. Thanks!

Are you a member of our Reddit group? There is a section there about churning for Disney that will help you. You need to call the cruise and tours department. Anything you can book with Disney, you can also book with them. Dining and tickets included.

As for the cards, do not cancel the CSP, downgrade it to the CF or CFU, whichever you will get the most use out of. The CIP for your husband sounds like a good idea.

sooooooo... bank funding huh?

Ohmygosh. Just.... omg. Reminds me of the story of the person who funded an account with like 20K- and then couldn't get it. This person isn't lying about stuff though. Gah- I wish I could find that old story! That person had lied to the bank saying he intended to move to their state, spun stories about fake company board meetings and other crazy stuff preventing it, had trouble with the bank and had trouble with the credit card company. It was such an epic disaster I should have bookmarked it. If you can't afford to lose the cash for a couple months if it gets tied up in a bank dispute don't do it!
I once did $18,000 at one bank. $9k for a savings, $9k for a checking. Put it all on my CFU at 1.5 URs...I was going to go back and do it with my wife a few months later and they had cut the CC funding limit down to $50...hmmmm haha!

Screw fate y'all! With my boss (who is also my mom with the unsuccessful cip app today) deciding to hold off on cc app the spend is mine for the month. I could not, no matter what I did, get the 30k personal spg incognito offer I have been chasing (don't feel bad for me I got a referral use on my spg biz a couple days ago which more than makes up for the difference ;) ). The spend is coming up fast so I could wait no longer- I used a dischurners link and will message the person when I finish here! Gonna snag those 25k spg points while the card is still around after all, w00t!
ETA: reddit message sent :)

25k for $3k is still a great offer - Incognito is nice when it works but I don't think you'll regret all those sweet sweet SPG points in a few months!! You could always root for AMEX to release an increased offer and call for a match, LOL!

Is there an easy way to see how far into the bonus on the Chase Freedom I am? All I can find is the little bar that shows how far I am - not a number. Do I have to go through my previous transactions and add up each bonus?

@peel @wendow So- the denied for 5/24 CIP. Interesting case. We reviewed the credit reports and she had forgotten about a store card (but a mastercard store card so it counted) which put her at 5/24. No dice with recon. However the other store card I saw was a jcp card opened a long time ago that had been converted by jcp to a jcp mastercard less than a year ago, the original closed and a new one was opened in its place. The original card had a "transferred" note on the closure but Chase would not recon it. They did say if she got the credit report fixed they'd recon it. She filed disputes with each bureau and called JCP where the CSR's supervisor immediately recognized the prob and said they'd fix it. Something about it was supposed to process as a flip but instead processed as a closure? Obviously she wasn't the first to call with the issue. They say it will fix in the next 30 days, so might need to put in a new app depending on the timing, but there's hope!

u go to Ultimate Rewards --> Chase Freedom --> Review more Activity (left columm on the bottom) --> scroll to bottom, it should day your Total Cash Back Rewards: $75(if u max out).
If you need a % total left, just take that Total Cash back, divide your Total Cash Back Rewards by $75 and thats how much u have left!

Man - the thread has been dying at night lately guys...it gets boring without comments to read, like, and reply. LOL!

I was just popping in. My body thinks I am still on California time but I’m back in CST. Prob doesn’t help that we got home from the airport and in bed around 2am so I slept too late this morning.

:offtopic: But with all the SW talk, I wonder, am I the only one that hasn't gotten any SW drink coupons this year? The last few years in Jan or Feb I got 4 drink coupons in the mail. Given the timing I assumed it based was around my card anniversary so being end of March and no coupons, little sad.
I’ve never gotten one of these not has DH. Wonder if we ever will.

You can call ur tours line and ask to add the dining plan. Just remember it has to be for everyone on the reservation and for the entire reservation. (I break our reservations up so I can add dining some nights and no dining other nights.).
Also recommended the CIP for your DH then have him refer you for the CIP.

Hey @Albort - wondering about your current thoughts on the state of the SPG personal. I know you indicated strong feelings that you felt it may go away (and cited other sources pointing to that too). Considering it was "skipped" when AMEX did the increased spring bonus offers here...seems like your theory has legs (I for one definitely think you're on to something). Do you think SPG personal warrants use of a 5/24 slot potentially, given how lucrative it's signup can be with no yr1 annual fee?

So my 18 yr old college student texts me that she wants me to take her and her 2 friends to wdw this summer. Silly me assumes she just wants me to pay for it so I figure I will bring the younger siblings along to hang with while she is off with her friends.
Well I told her that and she was upset because the girls want to hang with me. What!?!? Well knock me over! The teens think I’m fun! Best.Day.Ever!

Now I’m on the hunt for a good wdw deal may-aug. Hoping to snag something because there is tons of availability!

i think so. it used to be super easy to pull the 30k incognito. It really depends on what you have with chase. If there isnt much left with chase, i would break 5/24 and go for it. I myself was at 3/24 broke out to SPG Personal with the 35k. I already have the quadfecta so there isnt much else i really wanted. I mean 5k missing... isnt much compared to 30k. I think SOMETHING is going on some time in August this year. I saw someone report it on one of the bloggers site about it never though much until it was posted again in /r/churning today... except the /r/churning suggest SPG site going away, which means there might be some changes coming to the program... It kinda scares me.

If this were to happen do you think consumers would be given a grace period to move their points before it went away? I just got approved for the SPG Biz yesterday, after much consideration on my part. This 7k spend is going to REALLY stretch us, especially since my dh got the CIP a few weeks ago, just days before this SPG offer came out. I would be very disappointed if I scraped to make the spend only to be stuck with points I can't get transferred to my air miles account.
