I love credit cards so much!

I am all good with Disney Gift cards myself for this year, but would that poster have a problem ordering Disney cards on BJ's or something? Does AMEX know what that purchase is? I have done that with an AMEX personal to meet a spend with no problem. Is biz different?

I have bought Disney gift cards with my Amex to BJ’s and it is just coded as “BJ’s Wholesale.” Nothing about the purchase being for gift cards. BJ’s is nice as you don’t have to be a member and the actual price is not a completely round number. I think the price for the $300 in cards was like $290 or something like that.

Thanks everyone! Maybe I'll just add the gift cards cards one or two at a time into grocery store and office supply store purchases and hope they go undetected, and watch and see if the points register on my account.
I think you would be fine to buy discounted gift cards at Bj’s or Sam’s Club. That way you are meeting the minimum spend and saving some money.

ok so DH PC'ed to the FU, I can see it on the acct page as FU, but I still see the $450 AF,which is due in about 5 days.... will it drop off automatically before payment date? I don't want to get into a mess of late payments etc[/QU

just sm chase about removing AF, you will feel better about it and have it in writing.

I also have a ? about the chase 5x categories, does the 10x Shoprite deal count towards that limit? I wonder, since I think I can use my sapphire too
Yes, it will be an additional 5x on top of the 5x for using Chase Pay.

I was just reading through the comments on DoC's post about ShopRite, and a few people report that CSR didn't work. Has anyone seen DPs of 10x on the CSR?

Amex SPG Biz....do they allow gc purchases (like at the grocery store,3rd party) to count as part of the minimum spend? @gottalovepluto my favorite use for SPG is staying at Swolphin when we do Disney.... I use other brands for other places but I usually save those just for that.

Mix it with a lot of organic spendings and you should be fine. Dont just go out and buy a huge amount of gift cards at once, mix it with other purchases... watch out for level2/level 3 data. I just noticed last night the i think Whole Foods send out more data than others so id probably avoid whole foods.

DoC just posted this useful article. I think he's reading our thread. :P
How To Find Increased/Targeted American Express Sign Up Bonuses

sounds weird that they would stop this and that. Makes me wonder if new cards would even be announced this year then.

Oh good. I decided to wait and complete the min spend on my CIP before apping the SPG Biz.

I don't know why he's coming to these conclusions, and although he's very trustworthy I'm taking the post with a grain of salt. I might go for the SPG Biz anyway.

EDIT: Weird, it has joined @Albort & @disneymagicgirl's posts together in the reply, but they're separated when I'm writing the response. Anyway, this was meant to respond to both of you. :)

Another point worth making is that when the increased SPG Biz offers have come around they've had extremely high min spends. The last 2 times they went to 35k points it required $8k and $10k spend respectively.

The 25k for $5k signup presents a solid offer for those trying to hit an AMEX Biz card to slow their roll with Chase at a return I value in excess of 12%. The additional 10k points you may be foregoing would require a large amount of spend that may stretch some and also come at a much lower % return (likely around 6% on the incremental portion).

I did not realize that. When the personal SPG bonus went to 35k bonus, do you know if the spend went up significantly on that as well?

Well, I did it, SPG biz card approved LOL. Yikes!
And good grief, $500 annual income, $25k limit????? That's insane. I don't need all that LOL. Now to see if they lowered anything else, but I probably should have checked first.

ETA yep they lowered my limit on my 11 year old Delta card, not too happy about that. Do you think if I messaged them, they would lower the business a bit and put more back on my Delta?

Long-time reader, rare poster here. Wife applied last week for SW Biz. Just started a home based business on the side about a year ago. Applied as a sole proprietorship using SS number. May have made a mistake by putting a name to the business instead of leaving it just in her name on the app. Got the 30 day message and then the automated line said 2 weeks. Received a letter from Chase's Fraud Department asking to call in to confirm that it is really her applying for the card under her SS # before they can proceed with processing her application. Anyone with DPs on this particular situation and the likelihood of getting approved if she calls in?

Side note since I post so rarely. I began this CC "game" 6 years ago and it has become my new hobby. We have received over $12,000 in free flights, hotels, car rentals, and gift cards since I began playing. I have not paid for a hotel, airfare, or car rental since 2012! That blows people's minds and I believe they all think I am doing something illegal or unethical. I was way deep into this before discovering this forum, but I have read all 630 pages anyway! I will agree with ya'll (I am from Alabama LOL!) that no one I know has any understanding of this at all. I have consulted with a couple of folks about getting started, but I still don't think they "get" it.

Thanks to all of you and I will go back to reading and enjoying all of your great info, trip planning, and stories.

Q: when did he get CIP & when did he get CIC? (Helping someone who got CIP in Aug try to get CIC but they got denied for not have CIP long enough. It's weird, they even have a Chase Biz Banker who is confused as to what happened.)

Sure...he got his CIP (as a sole prop, with only SS) 11/16/17. We just applied for the CIC (as an S-Corp with TIN & SS) on 1/9.

Well just did an ap for myself for the Mariott card. Got the 30 day message. Seems odd since I haven't done an ap since November. Hmm.... maybe a credit line issue. That was the issue when I went for the CSR/CSP at the same time.

Is this the Marriott personal or biz? Maybe give them a call and offer to move credit?

Is the 5% on $1,500 cash back Discover quarterly limit on Gas and Warehouse purchases combined or $1,500 each?
