I love credit cards so much!

AA dining rewards network
E miles or E rewards surveys that credit to AA
Purchasing AA miles
Gifting AA miles
redeeming miles for something like a magazine subscription
Staying at a hotel partner and earning miles
Convert hotel points to AA miles
Book a hotel through Rocket Miles
Book a cruise through AA portal

Thank you! Maybe I will just let the points sit for now. This is my son's AA acct. I used UR to book a flight home from school for him last year. We usually don't fly AA but I would hate to lose the points. He may at some point use AA again. But he usually flies SW. If he doesn't fly AA again when the points are about to expire I will see if I can get redeem them for something. It is not a lot of points. I will put a note in my calendar so I don't forget.

This is where DoCs post is a little confusing. The Sapphire promo came out in Oct at the same time as the CF promo for ShopRite did so they put both into a single post, presumably because they both had a ShopRite element to it.

When the second wave of promo emails came out and included the CFU this time they kind of just copy paste from the first post and said it was good for CF. Personally I think the use Chase Pay 5 times is only for CFU and CS/CSP/CSR cards since you are already getting 5% on the CF. However since you'd be getting 5% back anyway, probably can't hurt to try it on the CF and perhaps be happily surprised :)
I am confused about the conflicting secure messages from Chase. I am purchasing gift cards at Best Buy daily using my Chase Freedom, Chase Pay, and Swagbucks, and I will report back if/when I get the 1500 UR bonus.

So I have another Swagbucks question, yes again but I waited the 30 days as suggested before this time... I still just have the 750 points from the original purchase that appeared right after the transaction:

09/19/18
Shop: Best Buy Bonus - 2018-09-17
+750 SB

However the points from the $300 spent have never showed up. How long after the 30 days do they show up?

Sorry, last question...I have looked everywhere, but I can't figure out where I would see if points are pending? Could you possibly point me in the right direction? (I'm on my laptop and the site seems to be glitchy so that may be part of the problem?) Thank you!

I click my shopping account and then scroll down it has store visits and transactions.

I will put a note in my calendar so I don't forget.

I set it as a task on my Google calendar like "AA miles exp on 12/18" about a month before the expiration date so that I have time to do something about it. My Google calendar has so many notes on it and my paper calendar looks so bare.

Ok, thank you. That’s what I was doing on the shopping page, but it then automatically takes me to my actual United account page with points from flights, etc. I think it’s just not working correctly for me. I’ll try another time, thank you for the help!

ETA Tried on my phone and it all makes sense now! (Although no points yet)

I have gotten a few of those. I should plan better since prescription dog food is about $80 month but I hate paying the fees on VGCs. I did just get $100 at Jewel/Albertsons because they had $10 off which covered the fees.

Question for the fuel rewards folks, above mentioned VGCs purchased at Jewel didn’t earn fuel rewards. The T&C say gift cards should count. Any idea why mine wouldn’t?

Regular gift cards do, but anything that can be used at the store (basically) don't earn rewards. That way you can't double dip. So the VGC/MCGC, store gift cards (i.e jewel), and some gas cards won't earn rewards.

Interesting because I purchased them once before and it worked. I rarely shop at Jewel so never have fuel rewards. I did buy some GCs when grocery was the quarterly bonus. Maybe it was a mistake then. Good to know going forward.

Jewel Osco is part of Albertsons. I've never earned fuel rewards for prepaid cards (VGCs/MCGCs) or Safeway GCs, like @miztressuz said because that would allow me to double dip, because I could turn around and spend the VGCs/MCGCs/Safeway GCs for groceries and earn another set of fuel rewards. I don't think I earn fuel rewards for Chevron gas cards either, since the fuel rewards give me a discount at ... Chevron. However, I do earn fuel rewards on most (all?) other third-party gift cards.

DH was approved for AMEX Gold tonight! I'm excited to get in on these AMEX offers I hear so much about. Wanting to triple dip the travel credit. We have a trip on Alaska in 2019 and no set airlines for any future trips. Suggestions on how to use my $100 for 2018? I'm guessing gift card but do I jus pick an airline and hold onto that gift card? We like SW but usually fly whatever is cheapest.

Congratulations!

The Amex airline fee credit is typically limited to incidental fees, like bags and in-flight amenities, etc.; however, it's known to reimburse gift cards from AA, Delta, and SW. If you want to bank the value of this credit as a gift card, you'll have to select one of these three airlines. You can trigger the credit by buying 2x $50 Delta gift cards in separate transactions, or a $100 gift card for AA or SW. Then you'd do this again when the airline credit resets on 1/1/19. When you're ready to do this, let us know and we can walk you through it in more detail. It's always best to check the latest DPs before purchasing gift cards to use the airline credit, because technically gift cards are excluded.

However, you may have been approved a week or two too early to triple dip the airline credit.

The first billing statements on my recent personal Amex cards closed about 24-26 days after approval, but I've had a Hilton Biz statement close as fast as 13 days after approval.

You have 30 days from the closing date of the billing statement on which the (2nd year) AF appears to cancel your card to get a full refund of the AF. The 1st year AF is billed at the end of your 1st month's statement. The 2nd year AF is billed at the end of the 13th month's statement. After that, there's no refund.

You'd want your 13th month's statement to close at earliest a week into December 2019, which would give you 30 days from then (at least a week into January 2020) to use the third calendar year's airline credits. However, your 1st and 13th statements may close in late November, which would not give you enough time to use the airline credit in January 2020 before you have to cancel the card for a refund.

The Amex Gold is a solid card now that it earns 4x MR at restaurants and supermarkets, has a $100 airline fee credit, and a $10 monthly dining credit at the Cheesecake Factory, Shake Shack, Ruth's Chris, and GrubHub/Seamless, so if it's a keeper card for you, then double dipping and triple dipping the airline credit loses its value.

man, im never able to get Swagbucks to give me my points... :\ even though im not buying gift cards!

Anyone else's marriott points disappear from view on their amex accounts? I can't see them on mine or DH's amex SPG biz accounts. Hilton points still show on amex.

Thanks! And it worked that time??

Just and FYI I opened a Chase checking account and the bonus quickly posted after my direct deposit cleared (easy $300). I got a cute Disney Rewards debit that has some discounts and meet and greets. It was a pleasant surprise.
I still need to do this!

Remember when we were talking about people and how sometimes they aren't aware of other people's space? Can I just....please share this picture I found from Epcot on our trip....View attachment 362542
This is so bad it looks Photoshopped lol. How could she not see us taking a picture and why didn't the photographer take another one? lol

I can't even look at it without laughing.
Reminds me of the lady who stood behind dumbo and was in everyone’s picture. The dumbo is there for pictures yet she wouldn’t move.

I was thinking of getting an Aspire card for DH, and this post helps a lot in helping me figuring out the timing. Thanks!

For AP rate at Uni, do you need to show your AP at check-in or just during your stay? I am planning to get them in advance online but I believe I will need to go to the resort desk to get the actual pass and since we will be checking in very late, we probably won’t have the actual passes until the morning.

Yes, but I didn’t fail the verification q’s the first time. My license has a PO Box with a slightly different zip than my home address but pnc wouldn’t accept a PO Box as my license address so i put my home address in the first time. Failed. Second time I used home address but I changed the zip to match my actual license zip- instant approval.

You do not need to show at check in. Everyone says that you can show at anytime. I actually don’t think I have ever showed mine and have used the AP rate 3 times. I wouldn’t attempt it without one, but I’ve personally never been asked to show it.
