I love credit cards so much!

We’ve been on 19 Disney cruises. Prior to our first, we had been on one Carnival and one Royal Caribbean cruise. We were fairly convinced that we aren’t cruise people and would never do another. Then, we decided to give DCL a try.

Even my DH, who is not a fan of Disney in general, esp the parks, says he won't sail any other cruise line. And that if he must be on a disney trip, he prefers the cruise over the parks.

I went to Office Max to do the Happy guy GC thing this morning. Pulled up to the store and realized it is staples. :headache: Had too much to do today to drive to the next town over for the nearest OD/OM. You win some, you lose some.

LOL I did that two weeks ago during the RMN deal. Pulled up to what I thought was Staples and realized it was Office Max. Fortunately the Staples was just around the corner.

We pretty much are spoiled movie theater people too! Our AMC is all leather recliners. I am not sure how I ever watched movies any other way. I also love that I can choose our seats online and there is no getting there early just to get good seats. Never saw anyone bring in a blanket to ours but I may have to start the trend here lol!

I get jealous of all the new AMC's. Aside from the new Dolby and IMAX theaters, my AMC has the same seats they installed when it opened 20 years ago. Literally, I'm not exaggerating, they've not once updated the seats. I'm actually kinda impressed they're not worse than they are thinking about it now, but after 20 years of 8 butts a day, 7 days a week, the cushions are pretty non existent. You can kinda live with the thinning fabric and just watch out where it wore through, but it's hard to sit through a movie. I sometimes think a wooden stool would be better.

But it's super close and we get discounted tickets and aside from the initial outlay of $6 when they introduced the latest Stubs program I haven't paid OOP for the top membership so we earn a bunch of free stuff when we do go. So better or worse we keep going back (but we'd go way more often if they'd just replace the seats) and try not to think about all the folks with the spiffy new theaters.

I've thought about finding a heat sheet for during the summer when they have the a/c cranked after I briefly considered wearing pants in the middle of a heat wave once. But not sure why it didn't occur to me to bring a blanket. Probably self preservation, if I have a blanky and a recliner I sense a nap in my future and you can't rewind at the theater. :p

I could use a little help please....I am trying to transfer my NCL booking to Chase. NCL says I have to electronically fill out the paperwork and email it in, I can't print off and fax it in. Okay, how do I do that on a tablet? Baby steps please. (I have access to my hubs laptop if necessary, but still don't know how to do it and would prefer not to since he is on FMLA.)

Oh, and I, oops I mean HE, applied for and was instantly approved for SPG Personal in the wee hours of the night. I did a referral from my SPG biz and hope to have him refer me before the card goes away. Not sure how much time to wait after the DD Debacle. Four months? More?

I’ve been wondering myself how everyone stays awake with a recliner. I couldn’t stay awake with regular seats. I haven’t been to the movies in probably 5 years so have no idea what kind of seats we have but I would guess the old ones are still there. I can’t stay awake at home either. Feel left out when people talk about movies. Haven’t seen many. Most tv shows same way. DH and I sat down to watch Jack Ryan that everyone on here talked about. I was out within 10 minutes.

The bolded has me lol! When you think about it that way, it is surprising there is a chair still remaining! I'm not great at math but I came up with 2,861,600 butts over 20 years :rotfl:

ETA: Knew my math was wrong. Think it's right now!

I've almost dozed off a time or two... If it is a movie I'm not terribly interested in, I always think I'll fall asleep but I never do. Still it is very comfy so if you fall asleep easily, you could be out quickly.

It does have to be emailed, but you are supposed to sign the form so you can print it off and handwrite it all. What kind of tablet are we working with? Can you print from your tablet? Can you take a picture with your tablet? Can you attach a file to your email on the tablet?

It's a Samsung not sure of model. I can do all but print and I'm sure I could do that if I knew how. I also have dh laptop.

Another DCL fan here, but we've reached the point where we will only jump for the right itinerary. I've done 12 DCL cruises, and my family has done 8 (thanks to 4 DCL girls' cruises that CaliforniaGirl and I have done -- San Diego to Vancouver, 2-night cruise to nowhere out of San Diego B2B with Ensenada, and Canada out of New York). The family has done both Eastern and Western Caribbean and Bahamas, and also Alaska, the Med, Iceland/Scotland/Norway, Baltics and British Isles. We've loved our European DCL cruises, especially Iceland/Scotland/Norway and British Isles. We aren't really beach people, so I can't see us going back to the Bahamas or Caribbean with DCL. We'd love to do a DCL cruise to Asia and are hoping this might be in the cards in a few years when DCL has two new ships and can maybe move the Magic to Asia. But totally agree that we will not cruise DCL just for the sake of cruising DCL. And I wouldn't rule DCL pricing us out in future either, the way things are going....

If feel the same way. I want more of the Norway/Iceland/Scotland variety of cruises, preferably on DCL though. We will jump ship if they don't go to some of those new destinations (I'd like Asia and Australia personally). I have a short one out of SD booked for a quick getaway, but I'd gladly cancel it for something more exciting.

Us, too. Our closest theater has those seats and now we all refuse to go to the ones that don't. No blankets here, either, but it sounds like a good idea.

My DH likes Disney and the parks, but isn't a mega fan like many on the Disboards. When I tell him other cruise lines are cheaper and sometimes have better itineraries, he says he's prefer to stick with DCL.

I'm the same way...I can tell you college football scores but movies? Nope! Last night's Jeopardy! answers-I'm you're girl!

ETA: full disclosure not last night's final jeopardy!-sadly I didn't get that one right...I did tonight's though

Finally got a moment!

My Rose Gold card arrived yesterday in a thick enveloped-shaped white cardboard box from Omaha, NE. I see Amex paid $3.75 to have the card shipped to me. I open it up, and there's a deep blue cardstock sleeve with the wording "Now You're Golden" embossed in rose gold. Very slick. Inside the sleeve, there's a colorful size 10 envelope with a photo wraparound and the copy "Welcome to the New Gold Standard." Inside the envelope is my new Rose Gold Metal card and a bunch of card agreements.

The Rose Gold card is not very pink; more copper in color. The Rose Gold card is definitely not as hefty as the Platinum card. Whereas the Platinum card has a sort of glossy, almost waxy feel, the front of the Rose Gold card feels a bit more matte. The back of the Rose Gold card feels like a matte plastic material.

There's a small scratch on the front of my card! Oh well, the first scratch is always the hardest; nothing holding me back from swiping and dipping this card now.

The package did not include my wife's AU card! I chatted with Amex and they told me that as an AU, her card was mailed separately in a regular envelope via USPS, and that I could expect it soon. My wife flies off to Japan for a week of work this weekend, but I guess she won't be missing much since the 4x dining category is for U.S. restaurants anyway. I need to re-do the cards in her wallet tonight.

Hope you all who are still waiting for this card get yours soon!

Totally agree. The one DH has is more of a copper color (which we really liked). I guess it came earlier since it wasn't a replacement card? Anyway, it wasn't "too pink" for him and had a nice feel. (We didn't compare weight with the platinum card though).

This DoC page is a good starting point.

Are you looking at inquiries or accounts on CK? Your cards will show up under all 3 credit bureaus, that's normal. Look for inquiries - you shouldn't see inquiries for Chase on all 3 bureaus (but you might see more than 1).

The way to do it is to download the Experian app (free), and check your inquiries there. You'll probably see Chase, they very often pull EX. Next, check inquiries on Credit Karma - both EQ and TU just to make sure. You might see an inquiry, you might not.

It's possible Chase pulls more than one bureau - I've seen pulls from both EX and EQ. If they do that, you will need to wait until the following month. Basically, if Chase pulls any bureau other than ONLY Experian, you need to wait.
got it- thank you! ok I looked at CK- his acct says no hard inquiries within the past two years (?) how is this possible when he's got 5/24 at the moment including the AU's? I'm off to check the EX report

Removing DH as an AU of your accounts is different than removing reference of those AU accounts from DH’s credit reports.

Do the AU accounts still show on DH’s credit reports? If so, are they closed? If so, DH needs to go back to Chase and ask they remove them from his credit reports, or dispute them directly through Experian’s, Equifax’s, and Transunion’s sites.
Oy. Ok I've never done this before as I'm kind of late in the game realizing the whole AU thing ... the accts are open(they're mine) so he can SM chase thru his acct referencing my number to have it removed? specifically from the credit report? and further step would mean going to each of the big three sites and disputing?

Remove DH as an AU from your cards. Then get Chase to remove those AUs from DH’s credit reports.

Asking Chase to remove DH as an AU from your cards won’t remove those accounts from his credit reports.

DH (or you on his behalf) will either have to file a dispute directly with the credit bureaus to remove reference of the credit cards on which he’s no longer an AU; or from DH’s Chase account, SM Chase to request they remove reference to those credit card accounts from his credit reports at each bureau to which Chase reports because he "is no longer an AU on those cards, is no longer and has never been financially responsible for those cards."
