I get jealous of all the new AMC's. Aside from the new Dolby and IMAX theaters, my AMC has the same seats they installed when it opened 20 years ago. Literally, I'm not exaggerating, they've not once updated the seats. I'm actually kinda impressed they're not worse than they are thinking about it now, but
after 20 years of 8 butts a day, 7 days a week, the cushions are pretty non existent. You can kinda live with the thinning fabric and just watch out where it wore through, but it's hard to sit through a movie. I sometimes think a wooden stool would be better.
But it's super close and we get discounted tickets and aside from the initial outlay of $6 when they introduced the latest Stubs program I haven't paid OOP for the top membership so we earn a bunch of free stuff when we do go. So better or worse we keep going back (but we'd go way more often if they'd just replace the seats) and try not to think about all the folks with the spiffy new theaters.
I've thought about finding a heat sheet for during the summer when they have the a/c cranked after I briefly considered wearing pants in the middle of a heat wave once. But not sure why it didn't occur to me to bring a blanket. Probably self preservation, if I have a blanky and a recliner I sense a nap in my future and you can't rewind at the theater.
