Are there referrals for the CFU 3x offer? My aunt is going to apply so I was looking through DISchurners but looks like all the offers are the $150. Is that correct?

I think it’s possible to generate one from the DoC writeup (he has a link). Do you have a CFU?mL

EDIT: you go to the offer and then scroll down and that’s where you can generate one.

I don't have one anymore. I am on the phone with her right now. Think I have her talked into the CIP instead :)

So does that go something like this...
“Instead of that 3% back crap how about you man up and get yourself a real card...a business card! 3% is for losers - this card will earn you 20%+ on the first $5k...”

In my head this sounds like Mr T (Clubber Lang) speaking to Rocky in Rocky iii.

“I pity the fool who only earns 3%!”

Probably depends on when you applied, what were the terms of the bonus offer. The current offer terms state:
"40,000 Bonus Points
The product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapids Rewards® Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. This does not apply to Cardmembers of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Business Card and Employee Credit Card products."

Since the new offer details state "any" SW CC that received a new card bonus within the last 24 months, it does seem that a bonus on the Plus within 24 months would affect getting the bonus on the Premier and vice versa. If you applied under the previous bonus terms that didn't have the new language stating 'any card' you should be ok.
They also called out that this condition doesn't apply to Business cards, so another way to double dip without having to do it on the same day is get a personal card and the business card. That you could space out a couple months.

I did as someone else suggested and messaged Chase. I will receive the bonus (thank goodness) once I meet the spending requirement. I assume from what everyone is saying that I can't re-apply for the other card until the 24 months after I receive this bonus even though it's a different SW card.

Correct...Unless it’s a business SW card :)

Since DH got the bonus in June 2016 he is eligible in June 2018 to get it again. He can try to double dip at this point, but I am not sure if we have seen any DPs of this working, or we just all assume it will work. You are out of the SW game until at least May 2020 since you have not received your bonus yet. Though we are not sure about the new SW card coming soon.

You can cancel the card as soon as you see the points move to your RR account. My AF hit this month and is due on May 4th. I just called yesterday to cancel and she said fee should disappear in a day or two. I just checked and the fee is refunded and the card closed. She gave me no offer to keep the card. She mentioned that my fee was due and said I guess this is why you are closing it. I said yes and she said Ok, I will close it.
When we called to cancel my DH's card, they offered to waive the fee. I was stupid and said no. I had a reason at the time, but can't remember what it was. Should have taken the anniversary points and canceled after that.

I'm really sorry. Getting back one more time on this double dipping of the SW card because I'm still not quite clear. If you can only get the bonus every 24 months irregardless of which card received the bonus, does one apply for the plus and premier card in the same day/same time in the hopes of there being a glitch in the system??? If that's the case, aren't you risking a ding on your credit score?

I am at a Crowne Plaza for work so I decided to use my IHG card. Well, it turns out that I grabbed DH's card instead this morning. We are working on the $2k spend on his card, so I thought, why not try and use it anyways. I handed that and my ID to the receptionist and she applied it to my room without so much as a blink. I was a little surprised, since DH and I don't even have the same last name. No complaints here, since we are now just $750 from our MSR on that card.

And we went to Office Max this weekend to buy gift cards. I was planning to get $800 Lowes, $300 Home Depot and $100 Chipotle. When the cashier went to run the transaction, it just hung at the bank authorization screen. We decided to dump the $300 Home Depot since they weren't time sensitive. We plan to use the Lowe's today to buy doors that are on sale for our basement finish project. The second transaction went through no problem. So an easy $900 towards our MSR for that card.

Yep - same day and same time.

That will have a negligible affect (if any) to you credit score. New accounts are blown way out of proportion on “credit card scare tactic” sites. I’ve opened 40+ cards in the last couple of years and my 800 score keeps plugging along :)

It is basically a "glitch" in the system. But applying the same day, the hard pulls from Chase might be consolidated into a single hard pull and should have little affect on your credit score. Mine usually dips a few points then rebounds within 2 months or so.

After DH was approved for the SPG Biz, he got a letter stating they moved credit from his Hilton Honors card to the new one. Instead of evening out the CLs, they left only $1K on the Hilton and put $19K on the SPG. I had him call to distribute the CLs more evenly, and they told him sorry, we can only move from personal to business, not the other way around. That's fine, except they didn't even give him the option to choose the amounts when he was approved. I told him to call back. Does he have a shot of undoing what they did?

They did the same to my dH, only not as extreme. Luckily, we don’t use the one they took the limit from for anything except Amex offers, so no big deal. Weird tho because he is a long time customer, only was his 2nd card, and small % of income. There seems to be no rhyme or reason with Amex.

DH never uses his Hilton card either, but if we do end up needing it for a hotel stay it really sucks that we'd have to be fastidious about paying it off ASAP to avoid a high utilization ding on the credit report.
