I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Just applied for a CIP (using a referral link from dd's biz account) and received IA with a $10k CL (which I need for my spend, which will be met May 1st). This is my first IA in the last few applications. When can I call to have it expedited?

Stats: 2 open Inks, CSR, CFU and personal Hyatt card. Lowered all CLs last week in anticipation of today's app.

I've SM'd right after approval and it's been fine. I think it's just the cobrands that you need to wait a little.

Congrats!!! I'm encouraged by the recent approvals.

I have one more INK to close before giving it a go. Also still waiting on CSP support links to go live.

Just to be clear, your annoyed that they are making you follow the terms that you agreed to and the conditions that are on the FNC? Seems like a reasonable business choice to me.

I mean, I've used the "I'm checking in after my FILL IN THE BLANK does because I'm arriving after he/she is" loophole too, but the rules are the rules so I understand Marriott closing said loophole. It's their game, their rules and I can choose to play it or not.

A little frustrating but makes it easier for me, at least, to decide, nope, not going to pursue lifetime Platinum status.

Worse is, I don't really like the feeling that Marriott tends to view customers as an inconvenience at best and enemy at worst. I cancelled my Chase Bonvoy card (not sure which one, they all sound the same) last month and am seriously considering closing my Amex biz one at some point. Will I still stay at my beloved hotels in certain cities? Maybe...or perhaps I'll branch out. Time will tell. Sometimes it's death by a thousand cuts, as they say.

Yes exactly. Just a week or two ago I was asking here about upgrading to the ritz card but have decided that for a premium hotel card will probably go with the aspire now which I’ve never had before due to pop up jail but plan to try again soon, hopefully before the elevated bonus dies.
I know I overshared it in another year's thread, but the short version is I was told breakfast was comped, then 10$ off, then 15$. No one honestly knew, IMO, to the point my DW said this was ruining the trip, so let's not eat breakfast here tomorrow.

Are you posting about Platinum's breakfast credit or the Hilton credit? In the last 6 months I've received $30 credit for 2 at one hotel for Platinum and a $10 credit for 1 person for breakfast plus a $10 credit for 1 person 'evening' for Platinum at a separate hotel. Both were Autograph.

With Hilton Surpass I received a $30 credit for any time during the day.

Yes,the credit for Marriot/Bonvoy platnium, I've never had issues with Hilton when I had the status. Hyatt, I have only had one property tell me a limit that I could not achieve unless I was being overzealous I've been globalist since I got bonvoyed.

So ds app'd yesterday am and got instant approval for CiC- (closed one 2 weeks ago, has CiU and CiP too) and we forgot to screenshot the 'you're all set' page..... cc isn't showing in his acct yet :headache: he called in yesterday and got automated line they couldn't expedite bc no number yet.... I'm now deeply concerned that this new cc is gonna go into limbo or a whole new acct setup (like I've been hearing about here) what else can he do to locate this app? Just try calling and have them look for it?

Capitol one travel- I have that basic venture- so if I book a hotel thru their portal, I get 5x points in my account? How do I calculate that amount?

Oh wow…I haven’t had that happen but some here have, hopefully they see this and can give you some guidance

I think you will have to wait for the card and then when you activate it, it will either allow you to add it, or it will make you set up whole new account like we did.

noooooooo I was afraid of that! Yours is the only story I'd heard of this happening and now he's the 2nd

Question on Sapphire Reserve Travel Insurance. Just upgraded my CSP back to CSR as I was booking 3 rooms on a cruise. (Saved $2000 by using my CSR and points)

We always get Travel Insurance for Cruises but looks like CSR Travel Insurance will work if by some chance we have to cancel due to sickness or death in the family. So, I should be Ok just getting insurance that will cover Medical Expenses if needed - correct?

Does your regular medical insurance cover you outside the US? Ours does, so the medical is not a priority (even if it happens to be included). My mom's coverage is minimal, so that's the first thing I look at, the higher the limit the better, while still being reasonably priced.

When are you arriving before your cruise? Fly or drive? I tend to think worst case senarios, so if I'm arriving day before, I'd look at missed connnection coverage. If I'm already in the area for a week, then it's not really a concern.

Medical does not cover outside US so we always get Medical when traveling by Cruise or Internationally. (and was glad I had it when DS broke is hand on the cruise and had to be seen at Hospital in Cozumel. Got everything paid for on the ship and at the hospital).

We are flying the day before but I think the Trip Insurance from Chase would cover missed connections. I will make sure when booking Flights to use CSR for at least part of it.
