I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Same. And where I live zero Hiltons with a Starbucks inside :(
I never thought of that because I thought dining had to be charged to your room to be able to absorb the credit. We have a Hilton with restaurants inside. Do you think restaurant charges would come through as Hilton charges that qualify for the statement credits? I guess the only way to find out for sure is to go there and eat lol

Reports are this works for the biz plat and Hilton biz credits because the charge just needs to be from a Hilton. The Aspire resort credit needs to be very specific hotels, so usually needs to be charged to room. Occasionally charging directly at an onsite restaurant works, but it depends on how the restaurant codes.

I've been thinking I should test a Hilton restaurant nearby or my biz plat and Hilton biz credits are going to go to waste.

It's been 8 years, but we took the tube with our luggage

We took a "cab" that was arranged at the airport. We had planned on using the train/tube, but one of the lines wasn't running because it was Sunday and we would have had to transfer to a bus and we weren't going to do that with our luggage. I think it was around $80 and was coordinated at the information desk inside the airport.
LHR to Andaz Liverpool was very easy on the Elizabeth Line. Depends where your hotel is.

We took the Heathrow Express to Paddington station. Very reasonable when booked in advance.

We’re going in July and planning to take a taxi
Thanks, all for your ideas/plans. I'm staying at The Clermont, Victoria. It will be 9:45pm when I arrive so pretty late when I get through customs and retrieve luggage. Still thinking of taxi. I'd have to transfer at least once if using the tube.

What I did when I landed at Heathrow at 10pm is booked a room at the HGI at the airport (less expensive than a room in the city), then took the Lizzie line to my hotel, dropped off my luggage and went out for the day. Super easy. Cabs and the Heathrow Express are expensive -- I'd rather save the $$ for a meal or shopping. If you take the Lizzie line (which is amazing), transfer to a line that connects to a tube station close to your hotel. If you have more than carry-on make sure the station is accessible, otherwise you're hauling your luggage up flights of stairs. Customs is a breeze at LHR with the egates. Don't forget to get your EITA before leaving.

According to the TfL app your best option would be to take the HEX to Paddington, then take a bus. However given you're arriving later in the evening I'd be inclined to take a taxi from Paddington. If you want to take the Lizzie line you'd have to transfer twice, which might not be fun with luggage with you.

I have seen reports that it does work to trigger the credit. As always it's YMMV.

Not sure when your trip is, if you follow WDWgroupie's HEX to Paddington then cab recommendation, the HEX ticket is 10 pounds if bought 45 days in advance, 25 pounds if trip is sooner.

Our situation is probably a little different because we have a preschooler but we realized in Japan last year that we would much rather pay to have our own taxi than try to get luggage on public transport. If it were just dh and I we would probably be fine though

Wait! Does this work? No idea if I have a Hilton with a Starbucks inside but I haven't come across this possibility before.

ETA: I have seen reports that restaurants work but not Starbucks specifically. The especially useful thing about Starbucks working would mean the possibility of Starbucks gift cards. Which would be far more attractive to me than even Hilton gift cards (I had one hugely awful experience trying to use them).

Ive seen many people in various FB groups report it works. I have personally never been able to try it.

How does everyone get from LHR to their London hotel? I was thinking taxi or uber instead of train/tube due to luggage. Advice?
I'm staying at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in August and my plan is to use the underground. I did it in 2022 with luggage with no issue.

Does anyone have any recent DP on funding United travel bank with their Platinum? Mine is going on almost two weeks.
All of ours in January credited within 2-3 days.

just got united biz, have 2 Inks each (dh and me). i find more use for UR than MR but am open to anything. I have amex [lat, bbp and surpass.

thanks for help and advie. may have to split it among cards if credit lines aren't large enough on new cards.

We were in London last June. We took a black cab from the airport to our hotel (in Marlybone) and it was close to $100 and took quite awhile. When we departed, we took a taxi to Paddington Station (like $10) and then Heathrow Express (maybe $40 for both of us?). WAY FASTER.

Arriving late at night would certainly be a consideration, but I think @*WDW*Groupie* idea sounds perfect!
