I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I’d do a mock booking on Alaska to see if your route shows up on points. Then you’d know the number of points you’d need. You can’t combine Alaska and AA points so you’d have to book separately.

Often partner award availability isn't as good as direct. You'll have to see how it looks on Alaska.

Do you have a deposit account with BoA? That will increase your Alaska biz approval chances. You can also get Alaska miles by getting Hawaiian miles. There are 2 personal options - Barclays HA 70k for $1000 spend or Barclays/Bank of Hawaii HA 70k for 1 purchase. HA biz is 50k for $4000 spend. Or you can do Amex -> Hawaiian (this part will go away at some point) -> Alaska.

Thank you both! I knew I was missing something, I didn't understand that you book through Alaska Airlines and not AA. I did check and their availability isn't nearly as good, so I think I just need to convince DH to get an AA card. I usually just book on SW and occasionally AA so I didn't really understand what the One World Alliance/partner availability meant.

Thanks for the help on Cap1 ! Instant approval after going thru the precheck thing.... :flower1: They don't expedite, correct? Is there a way to see the cc # and use it before I actually get it? (Now I need to learn how to use the points in a new ecosystem)

Look out for shopping bonuses on AAdvantage shopping portal, you can top up your miles that way. That is, if you do online shopping at stores on the portal. I usually at least have dog and cat food to order from PetSmart or Chewy, but I wait to order until they have a bonus

I just read how to do a Hilton points transfer to another member and I thought I’d check here to see if anyone knows of any issues or problems that I should know before I do it. I remember seeing something about not trying a “small sample transfer” first because then the second larger transfer may get delayed. But I don’t remember if that was regarding Hilton points transfer or another points currency. It’s a large amount of points and, for some reason, I am being a nervous nelly lol.
I've done 3-4 transfers from my P2's account and never had an issue. Just note that sometimes you will get an email confirmation, but the points won't show up in your account for 2-3 business days, so don't become concerned if it's not immediate.

In our group, we have 4 Hilton cards that offer quarterly statement credits. Does anyone know if I would be able to split payment on 4 different cards to pay for a room? I have a hotel stay booked on points at the end of March but I made another non-point reservation for the same hotel night so I could try to use all 4 credits that will otherwise expire 3/31. I was going to order GCs but now they are “out of stock”.

Re: GCs, I've been waiting for them but they've been out of stock for so long now that I worry they won't be back by the end of the quarter...

Does anyone have any recent DP on funding United travel bank with their Platinum? Mine is going on almost two weeks.

It seems most credits and sub payouts have been delayed lately, there's almost daily questions about it on r/churning.

I know I'm still waiting for grubhub from 2/25, and then saks and hilton from this past weekend. But I haven't checked them today.

I did get my entertainment credit as quick as it always posts on my plat though so 🤷‍♀️

I'm trying to book a very specific Japan Airlines flight, but it's not showing up on AA.com for my specific dates with a points booking (although it does show up on JAL, and it HAS shown up on aa.com sporadically over the months of searching). Any trick to getting it to appear, or can you call AA and have them input the exact flight to book?

How does everyone get from LHR to their London hotel? I was thinking taxi or uber instead of train/tube due to luggage. Advice?

There's speculation that Citi TY points will eventually transfer to AA. Link Far from a sure thing, but if you have any TYP maybe you'd want to hold onto them.

We took a "cab" that was arranged at the airport. We had planned on using the train/tube, but one of the lines wasn't running because it was Sunday and we would have had to transfer to a bus and we weren't going to do that with our luggage. I think it was around $80 and was coordinated at the information desk inside the airport.

I doubt it. You can also check other partners like Alaska or BA, but it's probably the same partner availability.

LHR to Andaz Liverpool was very easy on the Elizabeth Line. Depends where your hotel is.
