I feel there's risk. When I was tempted to try, I thought back to the wave of Amex shutdowns in 2019. There were surveys and discussion on what caused it and if people did x, y, z. If there's another wave, for sure this would come up as a potential cause.

That wave turned out to be related to self referrals. Which worked at the time. You can also say that was their IT issue.

Amex apps have this in the terms:
"If we determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this offer in any way or that you intend to do so, including if you return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount, we may not credit, we may freeze, or we may take away the Membership Rewards® points from your account. We may also cancel any accounts you have with us."

Once may be a glitch, multiple times they can certainly say gaming.

Something is fine with Amex until it's not. I ask myself if I'm willing to accept the worst case scenario. For now, I'm not. With Amex, the points will just be gone, if you're lucky maybe a tiny window to get them out. With Chase, at least historically they've allowed 30 days.
I can appreciate this line of thinking. Amex is fickle. Ultimately it all comes down to individual risk tolerance.

Hi everyone -- is there a way to see the chase.com/mybonus things you activated? I know I activated one, but I didn't make a note where I normally would and now can't recall!! I'm retired now, but I just finished working 3 long days (I do a combo of event staffing and bartending for a local amphitheater and it just so happened that 3 things lined up 3 days in a row -- now I only work about 10 hours in the next 2 weeks) and my brain is mush.

It's one that I get 10,000 points for doing something, lol. I've tried to search this thread, but I may have seen it on Reddit originally?
they just got back to me
Spend $6,000 on purchases, and you'll earn 6,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points with your card between October 1 and December 31, 2024 — this is in addition to your usual rewards.*

I don't know how I go through cards so fast. Got DH the US Bank Biz Alt card mid August. Bonus is pending. Then I got the BOA Premier Rewards Card end of September. Only $800 left to go on that card. (Although it helped that my office needed to send 18 large boxes of product back to Canada. I volunteered to go with someone to FedEx. So, that was $2000 in spend right there..)

So, now trying to keep options open. We have our Europe Trip due in February - that will be around $16,000. AMEX we are both in PUJ. Could potentially try for another Ink Card or maybe try for more US Bank Biz Cards. ( I have 2 and DH has 2 currently) May have DS and DD get new cards to use for Europe Trip too as they are each paying $4000 towards the trip.

Hmmm. Off to research..

I just got an offer on my hyatt card the actual offer didnt show up but it said 6000 bonus points.
I'm guessing its this? https://upgradedpoints.com/news/chase-spending-bonus/
I could really use this on my Disney Chase. But no dice. Every time I have ever tried the my bonus link I get
"The offer you are attempting to access is not available for the card account you entered. If you have another account, please try signing in using that card's information."

how does that always happen? Since 9/1 we have blown through a CIP, two Ventures and am a third through a US Bank Triple Cash.

DH and I are both in PUJ. Frustrating. The back button trick hasn’t worked for either of us across about half a dozen tries. App always ends up being canceled. But obviously I think it’s worth a shot. If I get approved I get approved. I don’t see where the risk would lie. It’s a problem with their IT at that point.
Risk in my case is probably the wrong word. More like opportunity lost. I have low expenses but have this one high expense coming up. I’d hate to get a card and then not get the points. I’d rather go for a sure thing.

anyone ever ask Chase to match a Disney card offer? DD just got the Premier a couple of weeks ago, with the $300 offer and now they have a $400 offer.

Hope it comes through for you. US Bank is known for being difficult to get cards from, as is Cap1. In the past people have said that having an existing relationship with US Bank (like a checking account) helps, but I haven't kept track of recent DPs. Cap1 is also known to be picky with their approvals, and strangely it doesn't depend on how high your credit score is.
Got approved by US Bank. No intervention needed. So applied yesterday and got approved today - quick turnaround. And credit line is $20k (other lines were untouched). Guess they like me.

Looking for a few tips to start planning a Grand Canyon and other parks road trip. I'm assuming Phoenix is the best airport for this? Also, what's the best time of year?

That’s what we did - flew into Phoenix, drove up to Flagstaff and spent the night, and then drove up to Grand Canyon from there. We went in mid-late October several years ago… it was a little chilly (around 50-60s) but crowds were quite low.

We did a trip - Vegas to Hoover Dam to Sedona to Grand Canyon to Zion To Bryce back to Vegas. We had to work around school so we went early June.

Those that requested a bonus match for the CIP and was told yes to reply when spend is met, when you told them that you met the spend and requesting the points did they say will forward the request to another dept or just say they will give the points?

For DH's I was told they would forward it on. It took at entire week for them to get back with me, but they did add the points.

yes

Thanks. I was hoping it wasn’t a bad sign.
I'm assuming it'll be fine as they already said they'd match
