I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 & 2024 (see first page for add'l details)

So, what is good timing now for the Chase Biz cards? My last approved CIU was in early May, 2024, and before that one, was early December, 2023. I applied for another CIU in August 2024, was passed the 90 day mark and got a denial. At the time of the denial, I had 5 Biz cards open, 1 CIP, 3 CIU, and 1 United Biz. Read through the forum and saw discussion on denials if to many Biz cards were open. I closed the United card, and 1 CIU. I tried for a new CIU over the weekend and got another denial with having 3 Biz cards open. The reason given was too many requests for credit or opened accounts with them, and insufficient business revenue. I can close another one in early December to then only 2 open. Is there also a sweet spot for the revenue amount vs the number of years the business has been open?

Just for info, Player 2 opened a CIU in June 2024 and got another in September and had 3 open Biz cards at the time.

Thanks
JJ
Adding to what others have said I always make sure to have a balances on my open business cards so they close with a balance…then it’s paid right off and at time of applying I put charges on the cards about a week before. Not sure if it helps but I’ve been auto approved with 4 total business cards…3 inks and a SW…last application was early September so no idea if something has changed since then

I am disappointed in our Samsung washer that's 2 years old, and doesn't have an agitator. Keep that in mind.

As for love -- our Maytag that was from the 70's JUST went out at our beach house. I loved that thing, and always wanted to move it from our beach house to our home!
My old Maytag did about 33 years and I was happy! Not likely to happen with the new stuff.

so can I use my IHG cc to pay for a relative to get precheck? (I'd prefer she got GE but I don't think she'll be willing to travel for an appt, and she'll prob only travel domestic anyway) ....Also here's something I hadn't noticed before, save 20% off points purchase? anyone used this in conjunction with points sales?

The 20% off points purchase is not in addition to any of the bonus points offers. It's pretty common to have a 100% bonus, making buying points .005. You can't get 20% off in conjunction. So really, it's 20% off non-bonus points. I wouldn't buy points that weren't 80-100% bonus.

@wanderlust7 @StephPlum What are your thoughts on the back button method to bypass PUJ? On a large spend, like 15k biz plat, I can see the risk. But dps of success are favorable. No idea of long term consequences so I think this falls into one of those personal comfort level areas.

Dh wanted to get it from lowes or Home Depot and neither sell Speed Queen so we went with a GE. Hopefully it ends up being good
Speed Queen can be kind of tricky to buy. I looked last year about this time when our old (almost 20 years) Whirlpool had a part stop working (the water level selector). I had decided to buy a Speed Queen but only a few independent shops here sell them, and they arrange delivery through a third party, and while I was pondering that I looked on YouTube and ordered a replacement part from Amazon and fixed the water level thing and now I'm not sure when I'm getting a new washing machine. The main thing I have learned is to go very basic--maybe Speed Queen or maybe another manufacturer of commercial-grade machines.

I’m not sure what the back button method is so I’ll have to research. But I don’t want to spend 15k and possibly not get the bonus. I have a low risk tolerance so it sounds like a probable no for Me. I may try P2 for the plat biz. Unfortunately I travel solo a lot so wouldn’t get the lounge benefits if P2 signs up. Still leaning toward CIU and another biz card. Thanks for the option.

DH and I are both in PUJ. Frustrating. The back button trick hasn’t worked for either of us across about half a dozen tries. App always ends up being canceled. But obviously I think it’s worth a shot. If I get approved I get approved. I don’t see where the risk would lie. It’s a problem with their IT at that point.

I feel there's risk. When I was tempted to try, I thought back to the wave of Amex shutdowns in 2019. There were surveys and discussion on what caused it and if people did x, y, z. If there's another wave, for sure this would come up as a potential cause.

That wave turned out to be related to self referrals. Which worked at the time. You can also say that was their IT issue.

Amex apps have this in the terms:
"If we determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this offer in any way or that you intend to do so, including if you return purchases you made to meet the Threshold Amount, we may not credit, we may freeze, or we may take away the Membership Rewards® points from your account. We may also cancel any accounts you have with us."

Once may be a glitch, multiple times they can certainly say gaming.

Something is fine with Amex until it's not. I ask myself if I'm willing to accept the worst case scenario. For now, I'm not. With Amex, the points will just be gone, if you're lucky maybe a tiny window to get them out. With Chase, at least historically they've allowed 30 days.

ok..... what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to reply to SM for chase regarding bonus match, (they say to reply when msr reached) why is the 'send' box greyed out on app and website?

The only thing I can think of is to choose the Pay over time option if available and follow the link but cancel at the end instead of finishing it. Maybe it will trigger an offer if they think you’re interested 🤷‍♀️
could be a good trick. I will try it. I updated my other post that they removed the fee free pay over time on my personal that was being offered, and someone else in another thread said it gone from all her cards also.

Thats happened to me, it was an easy kind of like oh yeah moment, but I cannot remember exactly what fixed it. It was something like I need to hit enter inside the text box area, or scroll down or something along those lines. I actually just met my spend and need to do the match response request. I will go do that and see if I can jog my memory of what I did.
Edit: yep what wanderlust said that was it.
