Anyone ever have luck extending a Hyatt free night award? Mine literally expires the day before I want to use it. I thought I’d see if anyone here had dps before calling.

They also won't give points if it's a Chase award.

I have a questions regarding making changes to a SW flight.

Our family has a flight out on Christmas Day to visit family. This is including my dd's boyfriend. We chose these flights because they were a lot cheaper than leaving the day after Christmas. Then, Southwest made changes to the flight and since her boyfriend would rather leave after Christmas, this was perfect. We could now change his flight for free.

Except now when I got make those changes, it is just showing me how many points I need to spend to change the flight. We didn't jump on it right away after they sent the email changing the flight. Is it too late? Trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. I will probably just pay the difference in points either way but it would be nice to do it for free!
SW use to only let you make the changes online within 14 days of sending the email….then they switch for a bit with Covid and after leaving it open ended…seems like now they are back to the original policy…from what I have read if you call they will do the change with no additional points needed

I've been refused extension 3 times, but I've gotten the 10K points twice. You have to have at least 10 qualifying nights to get the 10K. First time trying I only had 9.

The unused free night I've gotten points for is the one from my Chase Hyatt personal card, but I had to have 10 qualifying nights. Is that the award you mean?

This year I don't have to make that call as I was able to use the night for my DD and family at the Hyatt MCO.

Just want to edit to say you have to let the night expire and then call to get the 'courtesy' points.

yeah im going to call back on my annual fee date i was like whaaaaaaat?
When I had the JB Plus card, it was the same for me-no downgrade. I called multiple times. Some people have the option, and some don't. It seems they treat it like a retention offer with the offer being the ability to switch to the no fee card. :confused3

Will the car rental be after 10/1? Were you able to check the new benefits? DoC has this "Auto rental coverage: will now include more vehicles, coverage up to $60,000 for eligible vehicles with an MSRP of $125,000 or less." Link

I have a CSR, so I wasn't able to verify. An e-mail went out and has a link to the new guide to benefits.
When the new benefits guide came for the CSR I don’t believe it mentioned car coverage on the letter. The others all stated the amount you posted for CSP, ink etc.

Is the CSR still $75K in coverage?

The new benefits guide effective 10/1 states 75k . I don't see anything about the MSRP value of the car, just the types of cars. And no exclusions mentioned for exotics like the Freedom and CSP guides.

theft or collision of the Rental Vehicle up to $75,000. Coverage is

Yes, my concierge makes a distinction that she can't give points for the Chase awards. I assume that includes the personal cc annual FNC and 15k spend one. It gets mentioned on the Flyertalk thread too. But maybe it's more YMMV than it sounds.

Can't complain about this view. Just bummed the ferry from salem to Boston was cancelled for today so we ended up taking the train both ways.

Ready to fly home in the morning. Pick up Tux and then go pick up new little brother Berg. His mom is Tux's half sister.

My last 10K was on Nov 10, 2023. Looked it up in my account. When I called the first time about 3 years ago, I asked for an extension, and that didn't happen, so they put me on hold and then came back. They then told me since I only had 9 night credits they couldn't help me as I needed 10. The next two times I waited until the night expired and then called. Got the 10K each time.

I'll be getting a night soon but should be able to use it this time.

Do I need an e-SIM/pocket hotspot in Japan? Or will my service with T-Mobile work?
Check your Tmobile plan. Ours includes intl, but only 5GB per line. That was enough for my DH for 2 weeks. It lasted me for 1 week, but I had to get Ubigi for the second week when I ran out of data, since I was doing all the navigating on my phone.

So I always use my CSP to pay for car rentals. I have a rental coming up next month and plan to use the CSP to pay. I read the new terms - but not sure what it all means. Is the CSP still good for primary rental car insurance coverage?

Thanks I only read the letter and noticed the car insurance was not stated on that card compared to all of my others.

This is super helpful, thank you. I have done it later as well and not had an issue but thought I might be missing something. Especially since it usually works on the website. I guess I will call!
It seems that recently SW has been putting a time limit on the free online changes back in and you have to call. By law, if there is a significant change they have to allow you to change for free. I think they are trying to cut down on the schedule lottery many are playing, get a five minute adjustment and change to a flight that is double the price.

Yes, still better than just about any other card out there. It just puts a hard cap and a hard limit on the MSRP of the vehicles it covers. There were reports and I recall seeing previously that the limit to what it considered an (expensive or exotic vehicle) was anything over $50k MSRP. That doesn't cover a Ford explorer any more.

Looking for recommendations for kids' banking. Looking to have an allowance auto deposited and a debit card with a major processing network. I've looked at Navy Fed and their Go prepaid, but I have two kids and don't really want two accounts. Any other suggestions?

I used Capital One with both of my kids. They're now 19 and 20 and still use their C1 accounts.

Opened C1 accounts for both of them last night. It looks great if everything comes through and adding money on a schedule is easy. I like that I can see both accounts from my login, and that they will have debit cards in their name. I can pretty much tell already, my older one won't touch it, and my younger one will never have money in it.

I tried to get in another CIP before the bonus ended earlier this week and was denied. I have 5 total Chase business cards that includes 3 CIPs, but I lowered credit limits before I applied. It had only been 60 days since my last approval, so I knew it was risky but decided to give it a shot. Time to cool it on Chase for a little bit.
