I have the personal plat from before they changed the lifetime language about getting the Gold after the fact. So yeah I went through the process and they said I was ineligible and did I want to go through with it anyway...obviously I said no lol.

I do have the biz plat but with business cards they do allow the biz Gold to be had after the plat so all good there. We're skipping the great Chase offer this time but hopefully we can add more AMEX points with a good SUB soon.
Thanks! I will prob apply this week. What’s left on my DVC isn’t enough to meet the high spend needed but I’m sure I can spend the extra 4k needed out of the 15k somewhere.

With the chase being down to wire on both sides of the deal, if I hadn’t applied already I would probably pass too.

Ya too close and with a holiday bot worth it. But a question for you or anyone that knows...

I have an EIN for a side business I've had for a long time. I have a few business cards. My P2 does not have any business cards. If they were to get one would it be better to use my EIN as if they were an officer or would it be better to just use their SS#.

DP - nothing like the last minute FOMO on Chase URs.

Got our property school tax bill in the mail on Saturday. First time paying it ourselves since we paid off our mortgage in May!

$7000+ due by 9/30/2024 with another $7000+ due 1/31/2025. 2.65% fee to pay by credit card. Thought about it long and hard. It would obviously only make sense if we could complete a SUB...

We referred my DD23 for the CIP to help her accumulate her own stash of URs (while we would get the 40k support bonus). She applied 1 hour ago and got instant approval!! Her new CL is only $5k but she has a CL of $7K on a CIU she got in August 2023. Her original CL on the CIU was $3k but they increased it to $7k on their own some time this year. So, we will have her move $3k of that CL to her new CIP in order to pay our tax bill later this month.

What a relief to squeak under the deadline. It can't hurt to try today for anyone else still sitting on the fence...

Wait, you are making the MSR but DD gets to keep the whole SUB? I guess I never thought about what the cut would be here. Hopefully she spends it on famiy travel 😁

I’m not sure on this one. Hopefully someone here knows.

I used Allianz when I cruised last year. It was a plan that allowed me to "cancel for any reason." I did not have to cancel or make a claim so not sure about what it actually would have covered/paid out. It was relatively inexpensive.
ive been using it every year myself they have been great to deal with.

I have to decide on a 120k offer on a CIP. I have a good relationship there with multiple accounts I want to maintain and only one personal card. My plan was to just get the CSP. I’m still trying to talk myself into the other as I would only use the travel multiplier and that would be limited as the insurances require a business purpose. I’m mostly interested in the Hyatt transfers.
Anything especially beneficial if I get into DVC and need to make some direct payments to Disney.

Replying to myself just to see if anyone has any specific recommendations on cruise insurance- any specific provider and/or any specific plan?

I'm replying late, but we've also used Allianz travel insurance as well - I bought a yearly package mainly for the cruises that we take. It seemed like a good price to cover all travel for the year.

It does have a limit on the amount it will pay out for cancellations for the year, but I figured if we had to cancel (most likely for a pop-up emergency for one of us or issues with one of our elderly mothers) it would not be more than one of the trips and the amount would cover our out of pocket costs for at least on trip.

Chase codes DVC as travel, so I would just look at it from a booking travel standpoint.

I have 149K MR right now and I am very tempted to transfer them all to Hilton to take advantage of this bonus. I don't have any specific use from them in the near future. However, i know I can use them in 2026 for 1 or 2 big trips in the works.

Hilton is one that I do speculative transfers for, and Flying Blue is another. Both of these programs I use with enough frequency that I am comfortable doing it, but it's a very specific, individual comfort level thing. If I'm doing it speculatively, I usually wait until towards the end of the transfer bonus, just in case I am shifting gears.

When was the last time Amex had a transfer bonus to Flying Blue? I will need to transfer DH's MRs soon.
