Is this your first time to Hawaii? For a quick Maui visit, I would suggest Iao Valley and Haleakala, with Haleakala being the most different from anything you'll see on Oahu. With a car, staying near the airport would be convenient. Without a car, you'd have to see where the tours pick up. Lahaina would probably be good, walkable and lots of restaurants.

For a short visit, my first thought would actually be Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island. Fly into Kona, rent a car, drive to the Volcano side, then fly out of Hilo to HNL.

Thanks for the suggestions. My SIL lives on Oahu and we all visited last summer for 2 weeks. My DD wanted to go back and my DH could not handle the humidity and DS is working so it’s just us 2.
My only concern with Kona is there’s only one flight out of BWI on the day I’m looking at (flexible dates so maybe I’ll check the next weekend).
My SIL suggested Maui, Kauai and the big island (in that order) but I’m really trying to get the most out of a quick visit.

Delta flyers, could you give me some advice? I'm looking at a domestic nonstop 6.5 hr flight and am trying to decide between Main cabin and Comfort+. Is Comfort+ worth it? Also, I'm thinking of transferring MRs to Delta so that I can book with Skymiles in case I have to cancel. That way I'd get back miles that never expire rather than travel funds that do expire. It would cost 6000 more miles for Comfort+ compared to Main cabin, so cash value of that is $66/ticket to me (I have Schwab Plat).

I would say it depends on how much you value extra legroom. I'm short so I could care less about extra legroom of Comfort+. If I'm paying extra its going to have more overall room like in First. But, if you're tall, I could see where Comfort+ would be worth it.

Question on buying apple products. We have decided to get my mom an apple watch for her birthday. She's 78 and pretty techy for her age. She uses an iphone very well and currently uses a fitbit for her watch. My sister heard about the fall detection on apple watches and we decided we needed to get one for her. I know it's not fool proof, but it's something that she's gotten nervous about since she lives by herself and I think it will give her some peace of mind.

Anyway, I seem to recall that there was a deal for purchasing apple products with the CSR, but I can't find anything on it, so maybe I dreamed it lol! I do see that there's a deal to get a $10 best buy gift certificate for buying $100 apple there which isn't all bad, but wanted to find out if I was dreaming about something with the CSR or if anyone knows another way to save on apple products right now.

Thanks!

To me for 6k in miles on that long of a flight it's a no brainer. I end up upgrading to c+ most of the time and I'm short. I like the extra room and being close to the front of the plane. It just feels less crammed. Not as good as 1st but enough for me

Great. Thanks. Will apply and see what happens!!
Well this isn't comforting news, some DPs of Barclays Biz cards opened in 2022 reporting to personal credit reports:eek:

Until this point Barclay hasn't reported biz cards, and there are numerous confirmations of people who opened the Wyndham and other Biz cards in 2021 that haven't been reported. There are potentially 2 DPs (or 3, need confirmation it's not a duplicate DP) of cards opened in Jan 2022 that are showing as an account on their CR.

Saw it in r/churning first and DoC has some additional data -
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/has-...-to-personal-reports-maybe-datapoints-needed/
This could be a change or another glitch from their system update months ago. There have been reports of Biz card renewals not being charged the AF that seems to have started after that. I wonder if this might be a temporary problem related? Doesn't help if you get caught in it but if it's a glitch maybe not everyone will be affected. There is a DP of a card opened last month not reported (at least not yet?)
🤞🤞

For a flight of that length I would have to have C+. But I'm also 6'3" and 220 lbs. You also have a much better chance at overhead bin space near your seat, free drinks and slightly better padding in most of the planes. If none of that matters to you, then it may not be worthwhile.

I saw this and panicked because I just applied for the Wyndham Earner Biz on 2/3, approved 2/7. Just checked my Experian credit report through Chase Credit Journey. It says it was updated 2/11, but no sign of the card OR the credit check for the card. Might it take awhile to show up? Is there somewhere else I should look too?

Edited to add: after reading through the DoC comments, apparently it may take up to 30 days and/or after first statement to show. Sounds like it’s showing up on Trans Union and Equifax.

Edited again to add: really hoping this doesn’t happen, as it will put me at 5/24 until the end of October....I had big plans for multiple Chase Biz cards in that last slot until October. 😫😫

Yeah at 5ft 3in, I never have a problem with leg room. I once got the exit row on SW which surprised me since I boarded mid way through the As but was flying solo. Anyway, at first I didn’t understand why the under seat storage in front of me was soooooo far away!

It probably wouldn't show up as a new account until after the first statement cuts. I don't know enough about Barclay to know how quickly they usually report. As far as the inquiry, Chase only checks your Experian report, if Barclay pulled TransUnion or Equifax it wouldn't show up there. It might be worth going to www.creditchecktotal.com Paying the $1 for the week and looking at all three reports and scores. Or pulling the other two bureaus through annual credit report and seeing if there is a hard pull there from Barclay.

So DPs seem to be that Biz cards are showing on Equifax and Trans Union - so if Chase checks Experian, sounds like i could still be ok?
Thanks for this info - I made a note in my calendar to keep an eye on this as the first statement date approaches.

For those of you that have been Churning for several years, do you go through periods where you slow down?
I feel like I've got too much going on and I need to slow down, cut back on the number of cards we open.

I found this thread in April 2017, almost 5 years, we've opened about 50 cards between the 2 of us.

If the churning slows down the travel will also slow down. We haven't taken a break from traveling, but maybe we should.
Yes. I've been playing at this for about 12 years....ebb and flow depending on life for sure. The past couple of years was sl-o-o-w. Almost no travel for a long while, now slowly starting to travel again.... job loss means no MSR for me for a while either, and that's going to have to be ok :thumbsup2 For now I'm content using the points I have to do some fun travel stuff for a while..... I'd love to get that Cap1 venture X but a 10k MSR without a steady income is not how we roll..... that said, we just got CP for another 2 years (unavoidable bill paying) so we have all of that to play with.... and I've canceled a few cards recently to clean up our accounts, since it felt like it was too much to deal with.

In fact I jut saw an email telling me I have 2 cheapo Bonvoy nights I need to use before summer.....I've really not been as "into" this as other times in my life....but now I'm gonna use those 2 nights! (I had to let a free Hyatt night go last year and it's still irking me!)

Ugh! I'm stressed about SW changing the public offer. I already did the business offer and am almost done with the spend. I was trying to do 30 days between apps for the personal card. Now I'm stuck with this offer. Here are my questions:

1. Does anyone know if the inflight offer has changed as well? I fly home from AZ tomorrow, I'll apply inflight if it is the old offer or an increased version of the current one.

2. If I do the current offer, I can meet the MSR on the personal in one charge paying for our car insurance that is due the end of the month. If I earn the CP with the current offer and then later this year hit 125,000 RR points will my CP be extended from 2/28/23 to 12/31/23?

Just trying to figure out my options. I really need the CP for an Easter flight.

When you are approved for a card a few days after applying does your MSR period start from the day you applied or the day you were notified of approval? It really shouldn't matter as far as meeting the MSR but I was curious. The card in question is the US Bank Business Leverage. I applied on Feb 8 and was notified of approval on Feb 11.

I think that's part of my problem, trying to use all the annual FNC is forcing us to travel when I just need to relax. We have a weekend trip planned for May just to use 2 Hyatt FNCs that expire in June. I would love to use those, but it would be better if I could use them in the fall.
We also have 2 bonvoy FNC that we need to use this year, we did have plans to use them when we visited friends in Seattle but those plans are now changing and I don't know if we'll use them at that point either.

And that fact that SW has awful routes/flight times is making things more difficult. We used to be able to take an evening flight to San Diego on a Friday evening, but that's not an option anymore, the latest departure is 2PM with terrible connections.

Hopefully the inflight offer is still the usual 50,000 RR with $2K MSR. Let us know because I'm in the same boat as you. I was going to use the easy $1K MSR to hit the 125K.

But yes, if you hit the 125K late this year it will extend the CP until 12/31/23.

The new SUB says it ends 3/14 so I'm going to hold off until then and hope it goes back to the usual SUB. We don't need the CP until May.

Starts from approval. I generally always chat with whatever bank to ask about the welcome offer and how long I have to meet it so I know it's accurate.

I booked a trip to Chicago in early April just to burn 3 Marriot 35k night FNCs (2 expire June 30th). I will either use eUpgrades with AC or some of my United travel bank credit to book the flight. I will just have to pay for food. This trip may not be a go -- I'm waiting for Marriott to implement their point upgrade on FNCs (rumored to conincide with the devaluation in March) -- if I can use my 35k FNCs in Edinburgh I will, however I strongly suspect that the Sheraton Grand will be pushed well over 50k points / night in the devaluation. I guess we shall see.

Thanks, once I get the card and create an online account I'll confirm with US Bank.
