So I did the Goldbelly Amex offer for Texas Brisket for my husband’s upcoming birthday. Also used 20% off with promo code AIRJORDAN. So out of pocket will be $85 for 6-7 pounds of Texas Brisket. Still seems pricey to me but he actually mentioned a buddy had it shipped and it was so delicious. He deserves it and we would spend way more than that at a restaurant.

Amex Goldbelly offer: $50 off $100
Update on Goldbelly Texas Brisket order. Great dry ice packaging and delivery. Ended up turning this order of Texas brisket into a “Don’t Mess with Texas” theme party for the hubby’s birthday. Everyone raved about the brisket. We will order from Goldbelly again.

Any other ideas that serves a crowd?

ETA: I said, honey, did you take any pics of that brisket? This is what he sends me. I cannot explain why he felt the need to measure it??? Doesn’t he know everything is bigger in Texas?

best United card offer out there? didn't see any support links on churners dh has no open chase accounts, so time to do something in his name!

I did the sw mdd about 2 months ago. got the initial msr and points on both. anyone recall the 2nd msr to his to get the additional points? I totally forgot

only amex i have is hilton , i believe i it's surpass. haven't seen an offer to upgrade.

travel's starting up again and want to be ready!

I just got the United Explorer car with a 40K miles SUB after a $2 spend. Used it to book tickets to Iceland, and I was going through the booking process there was an offer for the same card with a 35K mile bonus PLUS a $250 statement credit. That $250 credit is much more valuable than 5K miles, but it was too late for me to get that one. All that to say, if you think you're going to book actual tickets with United, maybe sign up for the card as you're going through the booking process?

We are quickly going through the Chase bonus spends on all our cards.
finished DH’s Hyatt and Marriott anywhere spend.
Need to buy one more $500 VGC with my Hyatt at the grocery store for my bonus spend. We also have the gas & travel bonus on all co-branded cards, will probably just maximize Hyatt that way I can earn another FNC.

Also accepted a Delta Biz retention offer, $50 credit + $100 with $2,000 spend in 3 months. We need to buy 8 universal military tickets, which is why I accepted the offer, that’s an easy spend.

It is crazy how quickly we are going through these bonus spends.

Think the United Quest is the highest, but MSR is higher. 100k miles for $10k spend, or you can just do the first tier 80k miles for $5000 spend.

I ordered chicken pot pie and mini pies from The Little Pie Company and they also came super well packed and my mom LOVED them. Make sure to use any discount codes you can find as they work with the Amex offer.

I just noticed that Airbnb sells gift cards on their website. If anyone notices an Airbnb offer on any card, please post as we have a couple of stays coming up this summer. Has anyone bought from the website and can confirm whether they code as Airbnb? I know there were offers in 2019. I can't think of any other ways to save on airbnb.

I think there’s something tricky with airbnb gift cards. If I recall correctly, you can use a gc when you first book a stay. But if you pay 50% now, 50% later, you can’t use a gc on the second payment.

I didn't know that. Companion has always had to check in separately. Never tried with just booking EBCI for myself and not companion. Anyone got DPs on this?
When we flew to FL in Jan, one of my dd’s was my dh’s companion. She was at work and forgot to check in but when she went to check in later, she was already checked in and had the boarding number right after my dh.

You can save on Airbnb GC in similar ways to saving on Disney GC. There's an Amex Offer for Staples (expires 5/23), spend $100 get $25. Or if you can get any of the Amazon shop with points offers to work, you can also buy Airbnb GC there. Or PYB at grocery/home improvement stores.

As @FreeDiningFanatic said, you can only use GC on the initial payment. You can also read through this for other potential pitfalls.

But if your stays are all already booked, I guess this is all a moot point. 😅

Question for you DVC peeps. I am looking rent points next May at BWV. Need a 2 Bedroom. So looking to line up someone in advance so they can get a room at the 11th month mark. So, I joined some DVC Renting Facebook groups and put the info I am looking for out there. Was hoping to rent in the $17-$18 a point range. Someone responded that they could help me but charges $20 a point if I don't find someone cheaper. At that point is is better to go through Davids Rental or the some other company since they charge $20 a point too, then going with an individual?

I normally rent points from a friend but he will not have any points and he owns at Wilderness Lodge anyway and need someone at BWV.

I rarely see owners on FB asking for that much, You should easily be able to get $17-18. I would look around more and join other rental groups. Also you can make a post about what you're looking for and what you're willing to pay. I would bet if you do that you'll have offers. If you go with a company I would go with DVC Rental Store. They are a sponsor here and they have a cancellation policy which most DVC rental companies don't have. For most you have to rely on them being able to rent the reservation to someone else if you want to cancel. Also they only require 25% down at the time of booking.

I have posted on a few different Facebook groups. One said $19 and one $20. If I am going to pay that much might as well go through a company. Someone messaged me and said Griswalds Magical Memories are good to work with too. Anyone hear of them?

AMEX application question. Is it ok to apply for a credit card and a charge card on the same day? I believe the answer is yes, but want to make sure 🙂

Thank you both very much!
You answered my next question already. Was wondering about getting from the Hyatt Regency to the stadium. Thanks!
Do you know if the light rail runs from the airport to downtown area? Last time I was in Denver it was part of group and I didn't pay attention that much because someone else was planning.
I've also been checking rockies.com for ticket availability but June games aren't on sale yet.

I couldn’t remember which game you were wanting to go to but Rockies tickets opened today for June 1-20.

Thanks for posting! Please post how your trip goes - I might pick up a few tips! We're going there this summer to see them play the Cardinals in July. We haven't figured out where we're staying yet, but we're probably only going to one game, so might not stay downtown. Need to figure that out pretty soon. I was looking at somewhere north of Denver a bit. I know we'll be going to Estes park for one of the days we're there. Also wanting to go to the Red Rocks Amphitheater too.

DH got his Hilton surpass last May. What are his chances of getting an aspire upgrade offer anytime soon? And I got my no fee Hilton almost a year ago. Do those usually get upgrade offers?

I just booked Iceland! with Unitd miles and Nashville with United miles. Hence why I need to replenish! Didnt see pop up. will have to go in as my dh and see if he gets pop up. we used my account for that triip. when are you going to Iceland? So much to plan!

we are going in August just before my daughter heads off to college. She had wanted to go to Scotland for her senior trip, but didn’t look like that was possible, and Iceland was on our list too. It sucked to pay real money for the tickets but we are saving the points for a longer trip next year with multiple stopovers. It’s a shorter flight than most of Europe so flying coach.
