I just booked Iceland! with Unitd miles and Nashville with United miles. Hence why I need to replenish! Didnt see pop up. will have to go in as my dh and see if he gets pop up. we used my account for that triip. when are you going to Iceland? So much to plan!

we are going in August just before my daughter heads off to college. She had wanted to go to Scotland for her senior trip, but didn’t look like that was possible, and Iceland was on our list too. It sucked to pay real money for the tickets but we are saving the points for a longer trip next year with multiple stopovers. It’s a shorter flight than most of Europe so flying coach.

Iceland is amazing!!!!! We had to cancel a trip there and I hope that we can get back there some day. There is so many beautiful sights to see. If you're on Insta, check out the account "lost.in.iceland" for amazing shots of beautiful places. It's an account I started following when I was planning our first visit there and I still follow them today.

This is what I think they are (a list I compiled myself so consider that):
* Credit Cards: Blues, EveryDays, Hiltons (Ascend, Aspire, Biz), Deltas, Lowes, etc.
* Charge Cards: Greens, Plum, Golds, Platinums, and their Biz counterparts

If I'm right, you have 2 Charge & 4 Credit

If you log into your account and it says " no preset spending limit" it's a charge card. If you have a credit limit ("available credit" or similar), it's a credit card.

You should come up with 2 charge and 4 CC from your list.

I'm going Nashville with girl friends. I've never been before. Any recommendations? We are going in 3 weeks.

Before I make this mistake again, do I need to un-freeze a credit bureau before applying for an Amex BIZ card?
If it’s your first Amex application you’ll need to unfreeze. They pulled my credit for my first application. They have not pulled my credit for the other 2 cards I’ve gotten since, and one of them was the Hilton Biz.

ETA: I did unfreeze for my most recent application “just in case.” I wasn’t 100% sure if they would pull credit, and I didn’t want to deal with calling if my credit was frozen. At the end of the day it was just easier to unfreeze and not worry about it. Ultimately they did not pull.

Thanks! Not my first Amex, but my first Amex BIZ ... Equifax wouldn't unfreeze, probably because it just froze back recently.

Turns out the BBP 50k offer was good until they found out who I was then it mysteriously was not a valid offer any longer :D

I got a direct offer for the BBC, but I wanted the 50k MRs over the $500 cash for same spend ... may have to go that route

Thanks that makes sense. I didn't realize the BBP would be a credit card. I guess I was thinking only the cobranded cards were. That explains why DH was denied the marriott biz a month or so ago when it said he had too many cards but I couldn't do the math to figure out how.

Thanks for posting! Please post how your trip goes - I might pick up a few tips! We're going there this summer to see them play the Cardinals in July. We haven't figured out where we're staying yet, but we're probably only going to one game, so might not stay downtown. Need to figure that out pretty soon. I was looking at somewhere north of Denver a bit. I know we'll be going to Estes park for one of the days we're there. Also wanting to go to the Red Rocks Amphitheater too.
We live in the Denver area :) We're hoping to hit a Rockies game in June but the team we were hoping to see is playing dates we can't go.
Estes is awesome! And Red Rocks :lovestruc I'm so happy they are opening back up this summer for concerts. I'm going to be checking and finding one to go to. My girls are going to see the Jonas Bros there lol.

We just got back Sunday from our first trip to the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area with me, DH, DD, DS, plus their boyfriend and girlfriend. Rented a house through vrbo that was awesome. Went to Dollywood a few days and did so many other things! Lots of hiking and enjoying the beauty of the area. One of the highlights was our drive through Cades Cove where we saw so many bears we lost count, including a few mama bears with their cubs, and all so up close it was just amazing. It was a much different vacation than we're used to because we are definitely a WDW once or twice a year family, among other parks like Universal, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Six Flags, and so on... But visiting WDW in Dec was enough with all the restrictions so we were looking for something that felt a little more free. This ended up being the perfect trip for us right now and definitely one we'll take again sometime. And all of this is pertinent to this thread because we paid for the ENTIRE trip through PYB with my CSR!!!

I'm considering going for another amex plat biz card. I did this around new year's with the email offer that ended up waiving the AF for the first year so it was a great offer. Now when I log in to amex and go to the offers on my BBP, it's showing up to "add business platinum" for 150,000 MR. I see no lifetime language so I'm thinking I could get the SUB? Even with the AF I think with the dell credits I could offset some of that. Is there still and airline credit or did that go away? We won't have trouble meeting the MSR. Is there a reason I'm not thinking of that I shouldn't do this though? For example, I know I wouldn't want to keep either of these cards past the first year and pay the AF again, so will there be a card with $0 AF that I can downgrade them to? Just thinking amex won't like me cancelling two cards so close together.

Hope you brought back some moonshine! We just went 2 weeks ago. But we go once or twice a year since we only live 2.5 hours away. We've seen all the attractions and Smoky Mountain sights. Now we just go for the booze. Haha. :rotfl2: But seriously, we got some oatmeal cookie moonshine that is total bonkers! It's SO good.

I know the feeling. since we're having to pay real money for hotels (not staying all week in Reykavik) I blew a ton of points on air. I just extended it one day and ill be self driving the entire ring road.

Today’s AMEX newbie question - does AMEX have a tracker that shows your status towards the MSR, like the Chase app does? I poked around on the AMEX app and didn’t see one.

Yes, AF is $250. Comes with a $125 United credit. Guess it depends how easy it is for you to use the credit and how much the extra points are worth to you.

hmmm something to think about
we already have 2 united trips booked on points. so using the united credit might be tough unless we used it to changed to better seats or food!

thnks for the info

Went 2 years ago for cma fest so a lot was thee. This is for a wedding!
Just the bars along Broad St, have such great music. Wasn't a big country fan but am more now. Did the Hall of fame, toured the Ryman. Marty's Barbeque was amazing. I did buy boots. but not at the stores with the greeat "deals" they were cheap looking

the atmosphere is great, a clean New Orleans

It does, BUT.... it likes to disappear, one day it's there, then it's not. Very frustrating!
