Does anyone know if you can still use Venmo to meet MSR on Chase or does that code as cash advance now? Have about $800 left on CSR and about $3200 on CSP. Have until July 6th. Plan was to use some on DD's tuition for fall but those won't be posted until late June /Mid July. So not sure I can count on that. Just checking out all options.

If that doesn't work - could I buy Visa Gift Cards to meet MSR? Could use that for tuition.
I don't know what the status of Venmo is, I think it was supposed to code as cash advance but haven't seen any DPs.

And yes, buying VGC works for MSR with Chase.

DH just informed me that his new boss starts the middle of June. The week I have us booked in a cabin in Ct for a few days of camping. The kids and I were looking forward to it. He wants to cancel so he doesn’t miss meeting the new guy and thinks it looks bad to take off the days we planned months ago.

Oh well. At least we are going to Universal in July. Might take the cabin money and add Volcano Bay. Can I wait until Orlando to buy VB tickets? I want to see how the weather is and how the trip is going before adding them on.

We are officially booked for 2 nights at Aulani next April! (I don’t have enough points to cover our whole stay so I rented nights. Our flights to Hawaii also opened this week but are a little high. Will wait a bit to book for those.Doesn’t seem like anyone booked yet so will keep on eye open for the seats to start filling.
(If DH or DD try to back of this Hawaii trip last minute I will take the little kids and go myself!)

I want to do the MDD also. Is there a step by step guide?

I was approved for a CIU 2 months ago. Is it too soon to try the MDD?

I think it's too soon to attempt the MDD. Chase hasn't announced the end of the elevated offers, so hopefully you still have a few weeks before you need to apply.

You want at least 3 month between approvals, specially when going for the MDD.

I always seem to miss important details... DH has a CSR, so we use that to book anything we want to book through the portal on his account. The situation I've run up against is getting UR transferred into my Hyatt account so we can book from there. The only UR cards I have are the:

CIC
CIU
CFU

I usually transfer all points to DH's CSR. The only way I could get my points to my hyatt account would be to upgrade one of my cards to a premium card that allows point transfer or to transfer to DH's hyatt account and then complete the form to transfer his hyatt points to my account. Does that sound right?

If so, I assume the quickest option would be to upgrade my account and transfer. I moved points from his hyatt account to mine one time and it seemed to take forever if I remember.

I've done the transfer once. It was done the next day. But maybe depends how busy they are.

You can also consider this:

Which Freedoms do you have?

Unless you have a CIP/CSP/CSR in your name, you won't be able to transfer URs to any loyalty programs you belong to (unless you can do the transfer within the program itself). My DH has elite status with United and Hyatt and I have elite status with Marriott and a SW CP so in our case it's nice to be able to transfer URs into the account that belongs to the person with elite status. If your P2's CSR was opened over 24 mo. ago, you can be an AU on that card without affecting your x/24 status since Chase backdates AUs. Depending on when the AF is due on your P2's CSR, you might wait. I don't expect to be charged for DH's AU card until my next AF in Feb (I added him after my AF posted this year), if the pattern stays consistent with the last time I added him as AU (before I took him off so that he'd fall under 5/24). The $75 AU fee is less than either CIP or CSP, and gives him a card to use for car rentals that has primary rental coverage. I've had rental car companies insist that the name on the credit card match the name on the rental agreement.

ETA: I downgraded his CSP to a CFU when it came time for that. We have three Freedoms and one CFU between us.

Well since my ADD churning brain took me down the path of possibly churning the IHG premier, I decided to just bite the bullet and apply for GE now, even though my TSA precheck has another 16 mos on it. Figuring my CSR credit resets soon (which might be a moot point, if I close it and reapply for another), and I could get another IHG credit soon too, if I reapply for that. Plus, I think I wanted to wait on the second credit and get my DD GE vs TSA precheck. Which means I need to get her passport, LOL.

It looks like I can get a next day appt at the airport, or down in Detroit. So looks like I won't be waiting long once approved.

Now I need to stop w/ my indecision and start making some choices on what I want to do, LOL. PC the CSR to a freedom and apply for the CSP? PC the CSR, and just apply for another CSR? Or wait, and try the MDD in the later summer/fall when I have the tax bills plus the holidays. But to do that, it means rolling through the summer w/o a MSR. Oooooh, last CSP/CSR question....If I want to do the MDD, do I have to be 3/24 or lower? Or can I be 4/24?

The "perk" of just doing the CSP/CSR now is that I could I guess try for the IHG (again) once I hit the MSR on that card. And not worry about my /24 status. I swear between the hyperfocus rabbit hole of ADD and indecision, it's a shock I ever get a new card, LOL.

4/24 is a great time to do the MDD. You get 2 loopholes for the price of 1. 😆

Thanks. I did Venmo DD a small amount for some groceries. Still pending. Will see what that codes as and go from there.... If all else I will go the VC route. But then I will need to get a new card for DH or myself to use for Tuition. Hmmm.. I am at 5/24 and DH is 4/24 - maybe the CIP again....

Maybe this is common knowledge but ... if you have a SW companion pass, you don’t have to buy early bird check in for your companion; they are automatically checked in with you if you have EBCI. Apparently this policy changed a year or so ago, according to the SW agent I talked to yesterday while trying to fix a mess with changed SW flights.
Last I read this was being tested, but hadn't been announced. I wouldn't rely on it until I see an official announcement from SW.

I buy EBCI on our flights leaving MCO so I don't have to stress over checking in while in the park. Lately we've always been consecutive in our boarding group and always the CP after the owner. I know I did not purchase EBCI in that order. I tend to purchase mine, then the kids (CP), then DH. He keeps getting the boarding number just before his CP. This includes when checking in from home. I always line up my browsers- DH, his CP, my CP, then me on my phone. Each time lately, though my check in has been a slight few seconds beyond the others (my fingers can only move so fast and switch from keyboard to phone), I've always been before my CP.

I believe they are trying to keep owner with CP, this is something many members have been begging for, but I would not assume EBCI carries over to CP.

Good to know! How soon in advance do I need to PC my CSR?

such a tough decision.

I'm pretty sure that you can still do a MDD at 4/24, but don't quote me on that. Hopefully @SouthFayetteFan can come up for some air and answer that question.

How much can you spend in 3 months? Could you do your normal spend and then just buy some gift cards to help meet the $8K MSR? I know being without an MSR is painful, but Chase hasn't announced when the increase SUBs end so maybe you can hold off until the very last day to apply for the sapphire cards?

I can normally hit a $3k spend pretty easy. The $5k for the Bonvoy was pushing it. And that was at the holidays, when it's normally really not a problem. My mom ended up having me pay for all her Christmas gifts. I'm on her bank account, so I just transferred everything over. I guess there's always her if I need to hit a spend. But I don't think she has a lot of expenses overall. I never thought of doing the VGC route. My staples is ALWAYS out. Like 11am on a Sunday and they are out, LOL. So I would hate to rely on that.

I guess I could wait it out right now, and see when Chase plans on ending the offer. But I think I would need to do the IHG churn first, as I'm at 3/24. Then go for the MDD. At that point I'll be back to 5/24 and waiting till 4/22 to drop back under (which wouldn't be too terrible if Amex didn't hate me, LOL).

I’d love to hear some real life DPs confirming this works. I was surprised when the agent told me that (and for the record, she seemed super knowledgeable in general, including having to untangle some serious complications in my reservations to fix what needed fixing). I questioned her about it, and she said it was a relatively recent change - I can’t remember when exactly she said it went into effect, but maybe about a year ago? Of course, who knows - maybe she was the SW equivalent of a Disney bus driver!

I’ve bought $500 VGC at Walmart NM, had to pay the $4.95 activation fee but I’ve been trying to maximize the all the Chase grocery bonus spend offers. The $15 I paid in fees for 3 VGC is worth the 7,500 Hyatt points I earned.
And don’t forget that you can use PYB to erase some of those transactions.

Quick question for the experts. I’m jumping in the bandwagon and attempting the CSP/CSR MDD. Approved for CSP yesterday and lowered credit limit given. I applied for that one when logged in to my chase account.

Is it better to apply for CSR as a guest or when logged in to my account like yesterday?
Thanks in advance! I appreciate the help.

I was able to do it successfully while logged in back in January.

Question for you DVC peeps. I am looking rent points next May at BWV. Need a 2 Bedroom. So looking to line up someone in advance so they can get a room at the 11th month mark. So, I joined some DVC Renting Facebook groups and put the info I am looking for out there. Was hoping to rent in the $17-$18 a point range. Someone responded that they could help me but charges $20 a point if I don't find someone cheaper. At that point is is better to go through Davids Rental or the some other company since they charge $20 a point too, then going with an individual?

I normally rent points from a friend but he will not have any points and he owns at Wilderness Lodge anyway and need someone at BWV.

Yeah if it's not any cheaper, I'd rent through David's/The Timeshare Store. I've rented my own points through the Timestore Store, but when I've personally rented points to use, I've found good deals through a different site (not allowed to post it). But generally, I'd only go through private if it's a meaningful savings.

yes I would go through Davids if you can't find anyone cheaper. But I wouldn't give up yet. Keep looking for someone.

The only advantage of a private owner at $20/point would be if they are able to snag a harder to get room view because they can book right at 11 months or even walk a reservation. Sometimes brokers have a wait list before they have points available to book at 11 months.

That's kind of what I thought. I was looking at availability for next April and still shows 2 bedrooms available. And April is usually busier than May. So, will keep trying and see what happens.

looking for info:

best United card offer out there? didn't see any support links on churners dh has no open chase accounts, so time to do something in his name!

I did the sw mdd about 2 months ago. got the initial msr and points on both. anyone recall the 2nd msr to his to get the additional points? I totally forgot

We found this to be true for our flights to Orlando back in January. DH is my companion and we paid for EBCI for myself and our two kids and his boarding numbers were always in the middle of ours regardless of checking him in before or after us.
