Trying to figure out how to maximize what I can pay for with credit card on the rental. At the least I need to replace the stove, may also need to do the dishwasher. I just finished my Hilton biz spend, I don't want any high af's right now because my plat will hit next month and csr in March. I think my next card may be the surpass but not positive and we all know chase hates me. So I'm not looking for a new card but to best use what I have.

Since extended warranty doesn't matter since the house will be sold shortly after they are purchased I think gift cards for Lowes might be my best option. And with that I think my best option would be to use my gold card at Safeway. But that brings in the, how many forms of payment will Lowes allow me online since these appliances will be in NC and are there variable load cards for them.

Otherwise I'm guessing just use a UR or MR card right? All I have are one's that would earn 1pt there. And yes I know there's the HD offers on my plat, but you also have to realize that NC, particularly where my house is 15ish miles from Lowes headquarters, is Lowes country. There's 2 Lowes within 5 miles of my house in either direction, though between them is one of the few HD's in the area and the only one I actually know of. And I'll easily use the HD one for stuff here at home or the showerhead and curtain rod that need to be replaced.
No CIC for Lowe’s GCs at Staples?

1 year ago at this time I decided to accumulate enough points to book a week at Grand Wailea for Christmas ‘21. Well today I officially have it booked.

7nights booked w/475k HH Points & 1FNC.
Current cash price $13k :scared1:

Easily accomplished by getting DH an Aspire and myself a Hilton Biz card. FNC is from $15k spend on my Biz.

Like everyone else, I’m cautiously optimistic about this trip. I have until November to cancel, 🤞🏻 we start to see some improvement in our ability to travel by the end of the year.
they're booking for December already? soooooo jealous I may look for similiar....my fave place in this world....

Yes, availability showed up last weekend. I’ve been stalking the website waiting because I noticed last year standard rooms didn’t last long around the holidays.

It’s great to hear you love it so much. Helps me feel more excited and optimistic about our trip 😊

I was one of the procrastinators that applied at the last moment for the CF to get the 5X grocery bonus. :D The initial page definitely listed it along with the $200 SUB. After getting instant approval, I immediately saw the card in my account. Nowhere does it mention the SUB or the grocery bonus, only the normal bonus categories. Is this to be expected? Does anyone else see language about the limited time 5X bonus on their account?

I have pc'd 2 cards to the CIC and the CFU. I have another that just posted the $95.00 AF -- is there any point in pc'ing this card to something? If yes, any recommendations? Or should I just close the card?

Another question re: PC. My Aspire $450 AF hit on January 10th. I always thought of this as a keeper card, but I don't think I will get any value out of it this year. I will keep my diamond status through March, 2022, so that still gives me free breakfast at Hilton-branded properties.

Should I downgrade to the no fee Hilton card? Or should I cancel the Aspire and apply for the Hilton no fee card to get the 100,000 points?

I cancelled mine so I can get the SUB when I do the free Hilton. That said, I'm in popup hell right now with them. I believe if you PC you can't get a SUB. So for me, it's worth the SUB.

Hey y'all, where do FNC show up on Bonvoy? I hit my $5k for the 5 FNCs but I don't see them anywhere in my account. How long does it take to post?

Downgrading to the no AF will lock you out of the bonus for it. You can apply for the no fee first and then downgrade your Aspire. End up with 2 no fees and hope for an upgrade offer. :)

NEWS THREAD has been updated - just reviewed the last 25 or so pages and added a bunch of items to it for those that are behind in reading the thread.

Thanks!
Thanks for "printing" my news story for me!

And I said we would try to do better at submitting our own new stories ... I just didn't recognize it as newsworthy.
Like at work when I get some kind of praise (when I consider it just doing my job).

Thank you! I was about to apply for the card, but I am reconsidering. It would put me at 5/24 until April. I need to save a spot for the Chase Aeroplan at the end of 2021. This means that I wouldn't be able to cancel my Hyatt card and re-apply this year. I have to decide what I want more: Hyatt or Hilton points.

I noticed that I'm missing my FNC from a cancelled reservation. I'll have to call Marriott (a call that I always dread).

They will show in your account when you log in (go to 'activity' tab and they should be at the top). If I remember correctly they usually take 30+ days to post.
my Nov 2020 FNC is still MIA, im expecting it sometimes in Feb. Last year though, they didnt post until like march but it was due to some mistake.
I reached my MSR for SUB back with my Nov closing statement and the 5 nts posted about a week later. They should show up on your Bonvoy dashboard. Although mine posted right away, I didn't "find" them until last week when I called Marriott to inquire about not receiving them. That's when I found out they had opened a new Bonvoy acct for me when I got the card instead of using my existing Bonvoy acct (which I listed on my app). So I had 2 accts while earning the SUB but didn't know it. The really weird thing was that the points for my Dolphin stay using the new card in Oct posted to the old Bonvoy acct but the remaining spend pts and FNCs went to the new acct. I was able to merge the accts last week, but even that ended up taking 3 phone calls to get everything all straightened out. So... if you don't see your FNCs, make sure they didn't open a new acct for you by mistake.
