Some here might remember that I had a rental car in Naples at the end of March that I banged up against a pillar in a parking garage. Some not so minor scrapes along the door and the side mirror casing was cracked - oops. It was on my CSR and I was ready to report back about doing the claim etc. But now, nearly 3 months later I still haven't heard anything from Avis. When we returned the car, we pointed out the damaged and filled out a form, fully expecting them to follow-up.
I finally called them today about it. I figured if they were going to file a claim, I needed to know so I could proceed with the CSR insurance. Well, there is no claim. They said they rented the car out the next day. Guess all my worrying was for nothing.

I currently have a CIU that I’m ready to close. I’d like to apply for a new one. How long do I have to wait after closing before applying for a new CIU?

0 days since it doesn’t need to be closed to apply for another.
Hmmm... Should I not bother closing the first CIU before going for the 2nd? I was thinking it’d be good to free up the credit for approval, although it only has 3k for a CL.

I'm going to close my barclaycard Arrival+ account and it has a credit balance around $500. I put spending on the card that could be redeemed and it auto paid before I redeemed my credits for the charge so I'm left with a credit from that.

Would there be a problem with closing the account and them just sending me a check for the credit balance, or would it be better to charge enough to zero out the credit and then close. I just hate to rack up more points that I know I won't be using. I'd rather put the spend on another card where I'll be earning points that I'll actually be able to use.

Hi guys. Any recs for a card that is giving a nice sign up bonus or would earn points for travel? We really only do Disney and a few family weekends away per year, but we have a balance due to Disney for a November trip that will likely be around 4k and I'd love to maximize points or cash back.
We have a JetBlue card that we use to get points to fly.
I am over 5/24 so unfortunately Chase isn't an option - however I'll be under 5/24 in December of this year. I was looking into the Sapphire Reserve but by the time I'm able to apply I'm not sure if we'd be able to meet that 4k spend minimum.

I would just call and ask for a refund at the same time you close the account.
Have any of you been to legoland with a young toddler? Ds is 13 months and we’re thinking maybe this fall/winter. We have our Disney APs and are going there in September but lately I haven’t been excited to go to wdw. Legoland looks like a lot of fun and the hotels are super cute.
My family enjoyed Legoland. It’s definitely geared towards the 12 and under crowd, at least in our family’s opinion. I think my DH secretly enjoys Legoland more than Disney because he’s a total Lego geek 🤣 but that’s besides the point. We have only been to Legoland California, but we enjoyed our multiple visits there. The park was well kept, and the staff members were friendly enough. I say it’s definitely worth checking out.

Do you have other Chase Biz cards? If not, I would probably leave it open so you can move credit to make it easier to make the MSR. If you do, you could reduce the CL to $500 or $1k.

I also have a CIC that I opened in Jan 21 - that has a $5k CL. The CIU has $3K.
Does it raise eyebrows if I ask to move credit from one CIU to another CIU.

I decided to just leave the CIU open and go for it and got my first ever instant DENIAL. I'm 3/24 my last card was the CIC in Jan 21.
Should I call? Or is it better to not point out that I had CIU and was applying for a 2nd?

For those who did the SW 50x, check your accounts! I see 19.6k RR in DH’s! So much closer to CP now!

My transaction shows I earned 5300 RR points. I totally forgot about the $75 annual credit so this transaction triggered it. It doesn't look like they took any points back. So I think this worked out really well for me. Especially since I already used the gift card to book a flight and I have a promo to earn 3x points on the flight!

In regards to the 50x SW purchase last Friday in Chase it says the transaction date was 06/12 even though I have the confirmation email showing the purchase on 06/11. In Chase all I see is the 2x that is normal for a SW purchase. Should I be concerned that I don't see the 50x points pending on my credit card or my RR account? I ended up buying points because I would rather leave the points in my RR account if necessary than have a gift card that I likely won't use for awhile. With the bonus I would get 8500 points for $105 so with the bonus it is a pretty good deal.

OMFG! My trip to NC was just cancelled. Around 1pm I got a notice that my flight time moved back 20 mins. Then about 10 min later I got a notice that my flight was cancelled and they were trying to rebook me. Then I got a notice that they couldn't rebook me and I needed to pick new flights.

My DTW-CLT flight was cancelled. The flight options they were giving were taking me to other airports. And leaving Tuesday or Wednesday. I was flying into EWN and they were offering PGV or OAJ and 2 connecting flights on top of it! I called Avis, they couldn't move my rental to a different airport without me paying the new cost $500 more! I called AA and was put on a 6+ hour call back. I tried twitter, nothing.

Had they cancelled the flight ONE HOUR earlier I could have raced ad caught the 1:40pm flight and been fine! I only live 20 min from DTW. I saw Delta had flights, so I got my 16yo (she was my ride) and we headed to DTW. After 30+ min in line I finally get an agent, but they can't get me on the Delta flight, it shows sold out. I show her how I can buy a seat right now if I wanted. She's like I'm sure you could, but there are none allowed for me to book you. I said fine, can you reimburse me the $300. Nope! I said well then surely you'll reimburse the hotel. She said, it's not our fault so no! Ummmm, it IS your fault! YOU cancelled the DTW to CLT flight. Yesterday they were asking for volunteers to take a bump, so ***? Then she told me my CLT to EWN ticket was gone anyways, it had been cancelled. I'm like I didn't cancel it.

So then I ask her if she can get me on the 6am tomorrow? She's like no, sorry it's overbooked. I'm like, what about first class...nope. She tells me everything else is fully booked. She's like I can get you on the same flight tomorrow.....Ummm, NO THANKS! I lose out on 2 days (I don't land till 12am).

Now I can't even get in to rebook my flight if I wanted to! So I'm waiting for the "callback" to happen within 7 hours. I found flights in July that will work. But the rental car will be $100 more. And I'm PRAYING IHG gives me back my points. I was in tears on the phone with them. They transferred me to the hotel and said they could refund them. The hotel said they would. They cancelled my reservation, but I don't see the points.

After the school year I've had....I needed this trip! I'm trying to focus on the silver lining. Though it's hella hard! I go to Vegas next week w/ the boyfriend for 2 nights. And if he gets a trip this week, I might join him on it. And then I'm hoping maybe my July dates he can join me as well. So I'm really hoping my luck turns around!

Right now I'm waiting on AA to rip them a new one!

I am thinking of transferring some of DH's MRs to Marriott with the bonus (ends tomorrow, yeah waited until the last moment). When I click to see terms and conditions it asks for card holder (Dh or me). Since I am an e'ee, can I transfer to my Marriott account? or Does it have to go to DH's? I was assuming it had to go to his marriott account. I am Platinum and he is lowly Silver so I would rather the points go to me. I realize I can transfer but this would skip a phone call if I can just transfer directly to my account.

Back from a week at Hilton Head (first visit). It was nice but I was unprepared for the humidity. Not sure if is normal but the first two days were melt as soon as you walked out the door humid. I was afraid that we went too early in the season and it would not be warm enough to get in the ocean. I was wrong. The water was great, though everyone said not as clear and nice as FL panhandle beaches. I did really like the way they preserved all the trees and built around them as much as possible. Just going to Publix was like driving to a resort area! We were in the north end on Folly Field Beach, in a condo right on the beach which was pretty much a requirement with a toddler who made it 20-40 mins at the beach and then wanted to go back in! I also think it was much less crowded than other areas at HH, which suited us fine. I managed to read 2 books in the week and tan but not burn! Consider it a restful, successful vacation.

We did drive by the Disney resort twice which made me think.... How do you get to the beach from there? do you have to drive or do they shuttle you? Maybe someday......

CC related: saved $820 thanks to the BOA Biz SUB and 3% back on travel. Saved $430 on rooms for travel days using CSR URs. Rest of spend went on new CIC to hit MSR.
