Hi, I'm new to this board and I'm so glad I found it!
I have 3 credit cards I'm trying to get maximum rewards from for a big trip to Hawaii and Aulani in June 2022:
Citibank Double Cash Back (this is 2% cash back across the board)
Chase Freedom Flex (opened Oct 2020 - already reached spending to get sign up bonus)
Chase Sapphire Preferred (Opened Nov 2020)

I have already reached my $500 spending to get the sign on bonus for the FF. We are a family of 6 so I will be using this card for groceries since we get 5% back until at least end of April. Also, I'll be using this for the 3% back in dining/takeout since we eat out quite a bit. I love their quarterly 5% bonus category this time around as well and am well on my way to getting the full benefit of it this quarter. Honestly I love this card. With no AF, it's seriously amazing.

Between my citibank double cash and the FF, I feel like I have figured out what card to use where for the most rewards.

However, now I have a CSP. I don't see any big purchases coming up anytime soon - Christmas shopping is all done. Our normal expenses that go on the credit cards include groceries, gas, dining out, and amazon. Do I just put all my "other" spending (such as online shopping, amazon, etc) on the CSP to hurry up and reach the $4000 spending so I can get the sign up bonus even though I'd only be getting 1% back vs. 2% back on my citibank? Aside from the 1.25 on their travel portal and some of the travel benefits, which I know will come in handy once we are traveling again, I guess I'm not loving this card for it's benefits in regards to the others I have. Once my husband starts traveling again for work again, we'll get the CSR to help meet our goals of Hawaii 2022.

Thank you in advance!

you should consider a Citi Premier. that bundles well with the Double Cash. some can argue that its a better combo than CSP/CFU.
3x on groceries/dining out with that Premier is huge. they are taking the gas away next year but u can still get gas cards at the grocery store for it.

Am I too late!?! Anyone have a link for the 50K bonus on the CIU or CIC for 3K spend? It is a better return for me. Just checked Nerdwallet and it is updated to the 75K/7,500.

New offers on Amex Gold and Plat personal cards via Resy.com.

https://resy.com/amex-offers?date=2020-11-10&seats=2
These are some enhancements to the already available public offers:
  • GOLD CARD: Added 20% back on Restaurants in the first 12 months (capped at $250 in stmt credits)
  • PLAT CARD: 10x MRs on Groceries/Gas during first 6 months (on up to $15k in purchases) PLUS 20% back on Restaurants in the first 12 months (capped at $300 in stmt credits)
These are both personal cards which will use a 5/24 slot but might be very attractive offers to some folks. Keep in mind the rules of Amex - keep spending, pay your annual fees, don't burn any bridges or you'll be me with a popup message preventing you from earning future bonuses.

There's also apparently going to be an enhanced offer on the BCE card as well.

Very tempting. Might also be able to get the streaming and phone bill credits through the end of the year. Once I get the yes or no on my DH's SW app, I might have to pull the trigger

I think I drive myself nuts (I'm sure I'm not the only one on here) trying to optimize everything. And when I don't I get frustrated with myself.
Ha the worst is when I'm trying to optimize and squeeze every last penny and I send DH to the grocery store to buy $300 in VGC with no fee after I saved the offer on his Jewel account. And he didn't check the receipt and never realized he paid over $20 in fees.

That Plat is very tempting, but I don’t have it in the travel budget to pay another $550 fee. Any idea how long I have to think about this?

Really tempted by the new plat offer. P2 got the 100k offer 2 yrs ago but I’ve never held one. I still have a small amount left on a saks gc from that year. I think I saw somewhere the offer starts Thursday? I have the 5x UR offer on groceries with my freedom card though. I’ll have to do some thinking and research my official grocery spend on the freedom since June. It might make sense to apply even with the 5x on the freedom.

Since I've asked Chase to do that higher SUB on the CIC (Thank you @wanderlust7 ) I thought I'd pay ahead on the phone bill. My landline phone company only allows a payment up to $200 (I was going for about $400 to pay ahead a year and get some spend on the new CIC... but to keep the credit card processing fee to a minimum)... but I suppose $200 for a $3.50 fee is better than $33.47 for a $3.50 fee (if that even makes sense....)

Ahhhh maths

Thankful the internet company doesn't charge a credit card fee at all!
