I detested Episode 2 LOL, I could never sit through that again. I liked Episode 3 though.

I am working tonight, we are so busy I am hyperventilating today. This was a terrible work day, and the April trip uncertainty (well almost surely a no go) and all the new restrictions, just compound on it.
:P I love the Obi-Wan of the prequels though. Hope they eventually make a the Disney + series on him.

Remember after 9/11 and the airlines were broke and then we all had to pay bag fees for ever and ever? I wonder what new fees will come from this mess? Just imagine if all that cash wasn't spent on stock buybacks...
Interesting. I was watching the president's 3:15 PM address on CNBC and they were saying the large banks as a group have decided not to do any stock buybacks at this time, so as to not look bad.

Trying to find silver linings. I've been through a crazy few months with dd. I'm not sure whether she had a bad reaction to an anti-depressant (don't ever let a pediatrician prescribe an anti-depressant--they just don't have the expertise) or if her depression just spiraled but things got real and scary. Unfortunately, she has a hard time communicating her feelings so she wasn't telling her dad or me what was going on. I've never felt so helpless. Anyway, she's starting to sound like her old self again. I hate what's going on in the world right now. But I'm really grateful that life's been a little slow and I've had some extra time to hang with her and hear her laugh again:)

I straight up panicked the other night so don't feel bad. When I lost my WDW trip scheduled for this week it just really hit me. This is real, it's not going away, gotta hunker down. This time last week I was buying sanitizer wipes for the plane and now I'm going "do I really need to leave the house today? tomorrow? this week? is it ok to pet the neighbor's cat when I take the trash out?!!" :rotfl2: ...the ledge and I are old friends ;)

It makes me feel better that someone understands how I feel. Thank you.

Thanks. Today's our 4th anniversary. We met at the grocery store as I was on my way home from work and he was leaving for it.

omg it's adorable!!

Thank you.

Let's not forget the WHO warning it's possible covid-19 can be passed around via currency as it survives on surfaces... really leaves one thinking- where has this cash been? what did I touch with it?... cash is always dirty but now...

I am grossed out by cash anyway... great.

We have places that are stopping taking cash cause of spread fears.

Makes sense. I almost never have cash.

And make sure you have some smaller bills. If you need to pay for something that is $2-5 and all you have is a $100 bill...... just make sure you have smaller bills

Will do; thank you

You know what? I'm exhausted. That's it. That's the post.

Yes. I'm exhausted and arguing with my husband over text and it's just... exhausting.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our weekend “photo shoot”!
So late but so cute! These pictures are such a special memory!

Have you guys seen the new Orange Bird merch? I can't wait to SHOP!
I love these! Disney shopping online still works, right?
I’m not sure what we even have for local grocery stores here. I know we have Publix but we don’t like shopping there. The reason we do target and Walmart is because both are across the street from each other and literally less than a mile from our house. We could walk to them both.
Oh, goodness :( Publix is the heart of Florida. I’m a mostly Aldi shopper now but Publix (and that bakery, those cakes!) is still # 1 in my heart.
Maybe its time to experiment with a bread maker. That can be kinda fun. I have one that I never use, but I might pull it out now. Probably cheaper and better for you to make your own anyway.
My bread maker is packed somewhere but will have to go dig through boxes to find it. Fresh bread can shake anyone out of the blues.
I am. This is why I’m taking it seriously and staying home. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.

That picture's great! Is she friends with anyone else?
Wait, that’s her daughter? That’s the sweetest picture.
Had a great day! Lots of conversations with business owners. Some worried, others prepared - but it was great to bring insight and helpful guidance. We are officially 100% WFH now so that’s nice.

We've decided as a family to do a movie night every night for now. We are going through the entire Star Wars catalog first. Tonight is Episode 1! I think I could get used to social distancing 🤣 (although I might get super fat - I need to stop eating so much!)
Starting with the prequels?
This was my question. I have 1-6 and want to watch with my kids but don’t know if to start with 1 or 4

DH now works for a large healthcare org. He has been told that there are meetings this week and that they are mandatory. If they can't understand how stupid and reckless this is then who can? I'm really mad and he has been working from home because he's been sick. He may defy this mandate and not go in. Times are bad here and meetings can be easily held online.
Work for a hospital part of a large corporation. No meetings over 20 people. Emails going put telling everyone to have WebEx and other online capabilities.
Apparently our governor here in SC is gonna announce at 4pm that our schools are closed for the next two weeks. Just Friday afternoon he said schools were staying open.
Ours said no closing Thursday then closed Friday
Our IL governor just annouced all restaurants and bars to close starting tomorrow through Mar 31!
Might still allow delivery, drive through. Crazy times.
Yeah, that’s because the gov and Chicago’s mayor told everyone to stay home and then there were huge lines and crowds at the bars over the weekend. Ticked off the gov. I think it’s best.
Just checking in on everyone, fam. How are we doing here?
I'm glad DeWine closed the bars and restaurants for in-service dining here in Ohio. People are selfish and are not taking this seriously. He also said closing all daycares is coming and schools may not resume normal session this entire academic year.

We are living through a once-in-a-lifetime black swan event. Please consider putting more cash aside if you can.
I’m planning on DH not having a job from the economic fallout after this. I’ll have to go back to work full time which will suck, especially physically hard to do. I’m torn between minimizing our spending and ordering takeout to support local businesses.
I'm really concerned about my meals on wheels folks. I'm planning to deliver tomorrow, worry about asymptomatic transmission, there are now apparently 4 cases in our county.
Our schools are doing bagged meals. I think for MOW, leaving them on the porch/doorstep is appropriate
MA just announced all schools in the state will be closed for the next 3 weeks - it had been town by town.
I’m hoping they hold off on closing any restaurants until at least after Tuesday, March 17. I have to go to McDonald’s on St. Patrick’s Day for Shamrock Shakes! :-)
Ours are closed to dine in. You can still drive thru.
It’s so weird not being able to check hockey scores. I keep opening the app only to remember the games aren’t happening
DS is so disappointed. He watches sports reruns on YouTube
How many people really think the kids will be going back to school? I am 90% sure DS will be completing 8th grade virtually. His last day is 6/3. Luckily, he has that option at his private school. Our county students don’t since there is barely enough laptops for a grade and certainly not enough for everyone plus the lack of internet service that some students may have.
I doubt it but maybe. Our district just finished 3rd quarter, so they’ll likely miss the last quarter. E-learning starts Wednesday but the State board of Ed has said e-learning can’t be graded and the days off are “acts of god” which won’t be made up.
I know I shouldn't find this funny but my parents who are in there 70s seem to get up around 10. I remember one year I asked ds to text grandma thanking her for a gift and he said he'd do it at noon. When I asked why noon he said he didn't want to wake her.
My mom too. Gets up at 9 or 10. Says she can’t sleep at night but then she naps during the day. During the summer she watches DS a few days a week and has to be up by 7:45. My DH drops off DS and has caught her still asleep more than once

I am at 32 days also. I know I should just do it. But there is that .10 % chance and I would be devastated. I wish they would just announce April closing now.

I might be delusional, but I figure I can scramble for somewhere to stay if the race does somehow happen.

Yeah we’ve seen all of them multiple times. We’re going to go in sequential order; prequels, rogue one, etc.

I want to do this too.

How awesome! What will your DD study there?

Thanks! She will be studying History.

Also forgot to mention earlier that I’ll be working from home for at least the next 3 weeks per company policy implemented today.

:P I love the Obi-Wan of the prequels though. Hope they eventually make a the Disney + series on him.

I agree, I love Ewan McGregor. Also, the Duel of the Fates in Episode 1 is pretty top notch as far as fight choreography and music.

There's supposed to be one of the symphony movie concerts here next month for Empire Strikes Back. I was planning to buy tickets and was really looking forward to it, but wonder if it will be postponed.

Our Spring Break vacation is sadly coming to an end. We are calling it a wrap. I contact the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and they graciously returned my points despite it being under 24 hours. Our SW flights are changed to this evening. DS is being a trooper about missing his birthday cruise but we had 3 full days in WDW and got to ride everything he wanted and sometimes twice. We rode FOP for the 1st time (I know it’s been out for quite awhile) and ROTR, MMRR and MFSR.

Back to MD and the cold we go.
It sounds like you had a pretty good trip despite the circumstances.

I went to the grocery store today to pick up a couple more things for my meal prep and it was so picked over even the rutabagas were almost sold out!

Bars & restaurants are closed starting tomorrow morning here in Houston - only takeout & delivery allowed. My boss and I agreed that we're both fine continuing to come in as long as the building and city will let us. It will be pretty hard to transition to WFH...so many of our procedures are based on printing out hard copies of documents to be reviewed, signed, or filed. Almost all of our bills are paid using checks that have to be physically signed and mailed. I don't know what we'll do if I can't go to the bank to deposit checks anymore. Consequently I had to put together two HUGE packets of very complicate tax filing information today to get mailed out tomorrow to clients.

Thankfully with the new CDC recommendations today all church services and activities have been canceled indefinitely, but DH's workload will only increase as they transition to putting out pre-recorded services and helping church members get set up using unfamiliar online services.

I hope your DH doesn't lose his job. I truly mean that. That said, preserve your own capital over all else.

I used up all my 2019 and 2020 points on our trips for April and May. I'm going to cancel April and probably May and fully expecting Disney will put my points back to the right UY. Are you thinking your 2018 points cannot be saved?

What's your use year? If you borrowed they will stay in the use year you borrowed them into. Just got another email today about this. I think this may be the problem a lot of DVC'ers are having. It's one of the reasons (among many) that I didn't cancel this trip as half or more of it were borrowed points and would expire Sep 30, and I would only want to do Hilton Head in summer, and it's mostly booked already for those dates.

Totally against the rules! I'm never allowed to leave a hot meal outside (or the cold bagged lunch). We are in a rural-ish area and there are a lot of critters, plus temperature control is important. About half the clients take the meals at the door; for the other half I walk into their house, they are sitting in a recliner, and I put the meals on their table or kitchen counter. We did wear gloves today when passing out the meals. I made it a point to not come particularly close to anyone.

I called the man I am driving to radiation later this week for the cancer society, told him I thought he should ride in the back seat for social distancing, and he said he gets carsick. So I will be doing some wiping down of my car before that.

My DH is in sales, he sells to pet shops, which will likely suffer greatly as people spend less on pets. Business took a hit last recession and his pay never returned to pre 2007 levels.
My 200,000 URs are cash for sure right now.

Rules change in this situation. Of course temp control but I mean calling when you get there and leaving it as they open the door so you’re not close. I’m actually surprised you are allowed to go in peoples homes.
At the hospital I work at, we are required to do physical exams on all patients. Today the ICU director said the only ones in a COVID 19 (rule out or confirmed)patient’s room should be ICU attending or RN, no residents. He didn’t specifically exclude me, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want me going in

Well, our spring break trip to Maui was looking more dicey with every passing day, and with the shelter-in-place order in effect for the SF Bay Area we've finally decided to cancel. I thought I'd be out $1 for the Haleakala sunrise parking reservation, but I got an email that a location closure has been issued for that as well and I'll be getting a refund. Yay?
