Finally hashed it out with my kiddo. We are canceling the May trip, he will still take leave and hang out here since we are considered local as far as the DOD travel ban. He will have block leave in July and I have a July trip planned, he doesn't have exact dates yet. All fingers are crossed that the two line up. If not, I'll extend my vacation over softball tournament for him. I need this trip with him before he deploys. Sometimes you just have a strong feeling about something and my mom heart is telling me we need this trip. I will be mentally channeling Disney and Army so they know to make sure everything is open and ready and aligned.

I knew there was a reason I went ahead and booked him on the July flights.

I’m covering extra patients now as a coworker lost power (cant even imagine) AND now I have two students four days this week. They are in their last rotation and dont have enough cases in my speciality for boards so of course even though I’ll be charting til 10pm all week now I said yes. I already provide telehealth so this is the safest option to keep them graduating on time. My case load won’t slow due to the urgent nature of my cases (I’m remote but the patients still have to come in for U/S and labs and procedures). Currently waiting on a bunch of possible serious results too. Between being fully overwhelmed at work (but thankful for my job of course) and overwhelmed with the news I ate seven cookies today.

I can't remember what I've posted vs what I've texted today so if I already said something, oops.

Starting to work from home starting tomorrow. Can't make mom stay home if I don't do the same. I am permanent as of this morning and have a hard hat and other PPE in my desk drawer to show for it. We all get it just in case we go on a tour. I am looking forward to sleeping until 7 since I start at 7:30. The dogs are going to be so confused and I'm just hoping to keep my sanity and that my saying just because I'm home doesn't mean I'm actually home sinks in...

Just got notice that this resort is closing by 5pm on Friday. Checkout will be at 11am. Points for Friday night will be returned.

Daughter and family were leaving Friday anyway. I was debating and now my decision is made. This is fine as we will travel north together.

I'm not surprised Hilton Head DVC is closing. Seemed inevitable. Especially since my governor just canceled our election for tomorrow. Well, sort of. It's a mess. He doesn't have the power to stop it, so there was a lawsuit to stop and move it. Judge said no. So the governor is defying the action and the health department shutting it down. Which it isn't completely clear this is legal so it will be interesting to see what exactly happens in the morning. I'm glad I early voted. All the primary elections need to be moved to vote by mail. This is untenable.

I know I shouldn't find this funny but my parents who are in there 70s seem to get up around 10. I remember one year I asked ds to text grandma thanking her for a gift and he said he'd do it at noon. When I asked why noon he said he didn't want to wake her.

This makes me laugh because I have older neighbors late 70ties early 80ties and they also sleep late. I've an early bird most of the time, so it's strange to me.

I feel so bad for all the kids, but I have a high school senior and a college senior, so especially feeling bad for them. They are missing out on a lot of their "lasts". So sad. Someone mentioned this current batch of high school seniors were born right around 9/11 so they have some real defining moments in their life between that and this current situation. I actually had strong suspicions I was pregnant the morning of 9/11, just happened to be the timing, but I just couldn't bring myself to take a test for over a week. It was just such a scary time then I didn't want to think about bringing a baby into that mess. So I feel any anxiety you may have @Haley R.

We have a senior too.
