One of the grocery chains here in the northeast, Stop and Shop, announced that beginning on Thursday, they will be open from 6 am to 7:30 exclusively for shoppers 60 and over. I hope this idea catches on elsewhere.

This afternoon we walked over to get cookies at Live Oak Lodge. Yesterday they had them as usual, plus coffee and tea service. Today, they were told to remove it so no more at least until this crisis is over. The girls were happy to see the Mickey hand waving at them:


And took off up the steps. Left me in the dust! These two are not shy!





This last picture insists on being sideways, but as usual our HH cast members are so sweet to our kids! She let them high five the Mickey hand repeatedly until they were invited inside by another cast member.

I know I shouldn't find this funny but my parents who are in there 70s seem to get up around 10. I remember one year I asked ds to text grandma thanking her for a gift and he said he'd do it at noon. When I asked why noon he said he didn't want to wake her.

Always good to have cash on hand. Not about companies not accepting credit cards, but more if you have to buy fruit or veggies from roadside vendors or a neighbor offers to sell you some food or tp. I always keep a decent amount of cash in one of the safes. You may not need it, but better safe than sorry.

And make sure you have some smaller bills. If you need to pay for something that is $2-5 and all you have is a $100 bill...... just make sure you have smaller bills

I made two requests on the online form - marsh view and low floor. Both were honored - you have a 50- 50 chance of at least getting one! I feel as though I hit the jackpot - I think I've got the best views at the resort:



This is from my balcony. We also have the long and wide balcony near our cars, on the 'door' side of the building. The door side balcony overlooks the yachts docked at Shelter Cove. Yesterday I met some nice people who dock their boat there. Oops, I guess I should say yacht as there are some pretty nice ones. DHs one grandma is like that. She regularly sleeps until 11 or noon

I may be an outlier then. Up around 5:15, even on weekends. When I’m working, I don’t have to be at school until 8. Sadly, I’m sure I wont be back for a while.

I’ve offered to do the shopping for the two of my kids that live in town.

Canceled the BRV week for April 3 that I exchanged into with our Wyndham timeshare. It doesn't come up often by exchange, so I'm bummed. Trying not to remember that I woke up at 4 am to do FP, lol. On the bright side, I was prepared to lose the exchange fee ($239) and pay $109 to get my points back. But now they're giving everyone their points/week back and a credit for the exchange fee.

PA governor announced state liquor stores (the only game in town) would be closing tomorrow at 9 PM. You should have seen the line there just now! Looked to be an hour long. Dh wanted Scotch but we decided it wasn't worth the wait. I may check tomorrow morning. I can get beer and wine at the grocery store at least.

Hmmm I did not think of that! Will take a look- I really hate cloth napkins in restaurants because of the way they feel but I suppose it's because they're stain repellant. But I will look around. Thanks!

Buy one of those bidet attachments on amazon. Let everyone else fight over the toilet paper.

This chart could be useful to approximate when your travel time may become available for upcoming releases, however they don't always follow the exact same pattern (as you can see above) They appear to be tightening the inventory a bit this year vs. prior year's releases.

As seemed inevitable, DD and I are no longer making our trip to Scotland. Interestingly, the universities haven't sent anything out indicating that they are cancelling their Offer Holder Days, but both have moved to online classes versus in-person so I can't believe they will hold these events. Once the travel restrictions were extended to the U.K., we knew we wouldn't risk going. But the good news is that this pushed DD into just making a decision, and she accepted her offer at the University of Edinburgh!! She will be an Edinburgher . I decided to take advantage of the airlines trying to encourage people to book travel this month and booked Saver awards on United for DD, DH and me to travel to Edinburgh in September to take DD to uni and then home for DH and me (had to remind myself a few times not to book the return for DD, lol). I had the United miles I needed to book all 5 one-ways due to cancelling our original return for the now-abandoned trip to attend the Offer Holders Days. I was also able to book the Hilton on the Royal Mile for 8 nights all on points, taking advantage of the 5th night free. I booked one night on its own on points in the hopes of being able to use DH's FNC from his Aspire once that hits his account. I got points back from our cancelled reservation in Glasgow for the trip we aren't doing, and DH also had his Aspire SUB point and the points I got from transferring some of his MRs to Hilton to take advantage of the current transfer bonus.

In separate news, while we still only have 4 confirmed cases in Idaho, our school system decided not to hold classes this week. And next week is Spring Break. I think they will use the next two weeks to work out a plan to transition to online instruction/learning. For this week, they are basically using snow days that we haven't had to dip into this winter since it's been pretty mild overall, so no shortening of the instructional calendar, at least as of yet. We are still crossing fingers we will be able to fly to Maui on Saturday to join my Dad and sister who arrived there yesterday. I did email the company we are using to scatter my Mom's ashes at sea to see if they can possibly defer if we aren't able to get there...

I'm at the 32-day mark, so I was able to cancel online without any worrisome indication that my points would go into holding (although I'm sure DVC will honor its commitment to return points to their use years and not put them in holding for those past the usual cancellation period, as they have indicated). I'm 99.99% sure Rival Run isn't happening. I'm going to wait to cancel my air until closer to the dates of travel since I know airlines are overwhelmed right now (and I guess in case of that 0.01% chance Rival Run still happens).
