Tax software recommendations? I used to use Tax Hawk (used Tax Act before it got too pricey) but I have a K-1 now and TaxHawk doesn't support one of the codes (basically my 401k contribution which I need to net out of my guaranteed payments). I'm guessing TurboTax might be my best bet.
Check out Credit Karma. It's free and my return was the same as I would have received from hrblock.

What do you think are the odds UO and/or WDW reopen on 4/1? We had planned a trip for 3/28-4/1 but I can change flights with SW for minimal.
Trying to still fit it into my spring break at school.

If supplies chains were “cut off” no more food would be coming in indefinitely. I’m not being nit picky- it’s just that phrase is very scary as it means no food is coming indefinitely as far as stores go and I know that is NOT what you meant because you follow it up with stores will be mostly normal again :)

There is a run on stores, but the supply chains will slowly catch up. Nobody has announced shutting down major food production sources, processors, or transporters at this time.
So this was a typo lol. It was shortly before I went to bed and my brain was fried. It was supposed to say NOT.

i went to the store early this morning, cause I was up anyway. My wegmans was picked over but they had a million people stocking everything. They were basically sold out of meat.

Trader Joe’s was out of all frozen food and milk, but said they would be getting a truck overnight and should have stuff in the morning.

costco was basically fully stocked except for hand sanzitizer. I got there at little after 9 and they were to open at 9:30. There were probably 50 people waiting and they opened at 9:15. A manager was outside asking people not to run, but people were calm and I got in and out in 20 minutes. I did see some hilarious use of masks and gloves however. Like earning gloves doesn’t help when you keep itching your nose with them. And the mask doesn’t help when it’s under your nose.

anyway, I got everything I need plus a few things I didn’t like brownie mix, chocolate muffins at Costco and stuff to make chocolate chip cookies. I think I’m risk of gaining the Coronavirus 15 lol.

Our DD20 is at Uni in the UK, too (Durham). We were just with her on Thursday in London. She went back to school and we flew home. We thought we'd see her at the end of the month when she came home for a few weeks of her Spring Break. Instead she woke us up yesterday to say that Durham was telling students to go home and take/pack up their things as they aren't sure whether they will be coming back! I quickly got her a flight on Monday so she could finish a paper and pack her stuff up. Such a bummer. She's graduating in July and I have no idea how everything is going to work aside from the fact that she could end up missing her last term. She only has her dissertation and a couple papers left so hopefully it doesn't derail graduation or her offer to Oxford for her masters! What is your son's Uni telling him? We were very surprised at how quickly everything changed. When I first talked to her about COVID a couple weeks ago she told me everyone in the news was overreacting. Typical 20 year old reaction. Her attitude didn't last long. She very much gets it now.

I'm glad you found her a flight. DD's plane just took off from LHR. It's awful that they have to basically evacuate and can't finish out the year. :(

I suspected this was coming so we booked a flight for today, but those were hard to come by a couple days ago. :(

Back from Chicago. I left not expecting things to go as sideways as they went. We had a good time. I hit MSR on my Hilton card. They started shutting down St pattys events for this weekend on Wednesday in Chicago. Glad I'm home so I can make arrangements for my kiddo home an extra week and Girl Scout events cancelled. We are optimistally keeping our fingers crossed that things will be back to semi normal in May.

In other news I finished msr on my CIP. Think I might get one for DH next. Just bought enough groceries for a month. But my kids will need new clothes for spring/ summer and day camp final payment is due in May.

any other ideas? I have a super old no fee amex blue card which will let me park my MR When my plat annual fee comes due in May. I’m at 4/24 and trying to stay there, so looking for business cards. I basically have nothing amex besides the plat and both the biz and personal old spg/ new Marriott cards.

Eh. She probably wasn't washing often enough, or she needed to use a wetpail instead of her diaper-laundry drypail.

The last time I was this thankful that we cloth diaper was when we had a late-spring snowstorm and got 3ft of heavy, wet snow dumped on us in about 36 hours and didn't have power for 5 days (then borrowed a generator to get the essentials running for another 3 days...helps that DH is an electrician and we could make a 200amp portable generator do what we needed), and couldn't get plowed out for the first 4 days. Our 3rd baby was 4 months old at the time and my husband quit complaining about the number of cute diapers I had collected after the 4th day. People are stocking up on diapers around here and I don't plan on going back to a store until we are completely out of bread, milk, fruit, and fresh veggies. So, probably Wednesday.

Officially hurricane season is June 1 through November 30, with peak season August through early October. So a lot of us go then and take our chances!
What's the weather like in September vs October?

I'm still hoping we don't have to cancel because I'm REALLY looking forward to F&G lobster tails and scallops at the kiosks.

I’m going with not good. I have a trip 4/4 and I’m pretty darn positive it’s not gonna happen. Even if I wanted it too, which I’m not sure I do.

i can cancel up until 4/1 and basically forever with southwest points, so waiting it out a bit, but realistically I think we’re looking at 4-6 weeks at the very least.

I would say slim to none. Also the cruiselines suspending for 30 days isn't probably going to be enough - maybe early May if we are fortunate enough to contain this virus as best we can.

September = mostly surface of the sun hot
October = there’s a chance it might not be surface of the sun hot

🤣 🤣

Right? I sweat through a Tshirt by 11 a.m. the last time I was at Food and Wine at the end of October. We're going last of September this year.

We figure we will just not go to the parks in the afternoon.

Unfortunately, you're probably correct. We had reservations for the RPR, but too pricey to just stay there and not use the benefit of the express pass. Maybe we'll just book a disney resort. ??? We're not really beach going folk.
Any other suggestions?

Eh... Agree to disagree.

I'm trying to be politically correct without being political! We are way behind in my opinion with our 'waiting until it hits our inner circle before we act' mentality. I do think leaders are afraid to go all out because in this day and age it's a career move that results in 'don't let the door hit you on your way out'.

My dad was always the one to say he was told to 'close the gate when he left'. He was quite a guy and made his own way, and made a few waves along the way.

I'll be real political and just say it: we need more testing in this country and we needed them weeks ago. The response has been slow and inefficient and confusing. I've been watching this story since the first of January out of China. I knew it was coming. How did the CDC and the WH not know?
