Publix in VA is going to start closing at 8 PM (I think they normally are open until 10). I wonder if other grocery stores will also shorten hours. Yikes.
Dh works for a big company too and they’ve said similar things. They can’t really work from home because the majority of people work on classified projects. He said they told everyone if they feel any symptoms to take PTO and stay home. Okay, who the heck is gonna do that? That’s like encouraging people to still come in with symptoms. Dh is saving all of his PTO for when the baby comes.I do indeed work for a government agency. Ours has been telling us to take our laptops home every day, only to turn around and trudge back into the office the next morning. I would really prefer not to take Lyft as that expense will add up quickly, especially since I'm in 5 days a week and traveling during rush hour both ways (so surge pricing will be in effect). I'm not interested in paying for my employer's incompetence. The only problem with staying home is I will be forced to take sick time, and although I do have some, I don't have weeks worth. I would much rather be allowed to work from home (100% of our job duties can be performed remotely with no loss of productivity). They won't allow us to work from home while sick.
Almost everyone in my office has been laughing about the virus and calling the response totally overblown. Assuming I still don't have a fever on Monday, I intend to go in the office and test that theory. If I do have a fever though, I'll stay home and take sick time.
They’re low and know this is the best way to stock up.
Are your SW flights on points? Just push your flights out to the future and keep your EBCI active. Then when you know your actual flights change then again. If it’s on points and EBCI are tied to them just keep changing until you find a use for themI think I have to push my May trip. Waiting to hear from my boy before I make any moves. Even then, I don't know how far out to push. DOD could extend the restrictions.
With SW being so generous right now I'm hoping the EBCI I paid for will be refunded or can be reapplied to new flights. Or I just write it off, it was using an Amex credit anyway. In that case maybe I cancel everyone and book all together since I'm A-list until June 30.
I'm afraid to look at DVC availability. I currently have Boardwalk booked and was really looking forward to it being so close to DHS.
Yep they’re doing that here too.Publix in VA is going to start closing at 8 PM (I think they normally are open until 10). I wonder if other grocery stores will also shorten hours. Yikes.
To better sanitize at night! At least thats what our Publix says. I think more stores will likely follow suit.Publix in VA is going to start closing at 8 PM (I think they normally are open until 10). I wonder if other grocery stores will also shorten hours. Yikes.
Our hospital has waived the attendance policy. Employees can call off at will and they do. There's probably only a couple of us that save our PTO for vacations. They should have waited to see if we ever have an outbreak here before they did that.Dh works for a big company too and they’ve said similar things. I have 2 kids that work for winco and I hate to shop there because of the no cc thing. They will take those visa/mc that you buy at office stores if you use them as a debit card.
Yeah, I'm definitely okay with that as well as hopefully providing their employees some relief. Publix generally treats its employees well which is one reason I love them.To better sanitize at night! At least thats what our Publix says. I think more stores will likely follow suit.
I thought EBCI couldn't be modified/moved under normal circumstances. They are points flights. So if I just change my flight EBCI stays attached? Relief. I only paid for 3 leaving MCO for now, DH and the CPs, I haven't added my oldest son yet since we only just got leave approved a few days ago.Are your SW flights on points? (if they aren’t on points then that’s a little different... although a similar strategy can be employed, it just “feels” a bit more complex)

DVI thought DVC would have nothing, but to stay at or under the points I'm currently using, moving 2 weeks gives me Saratoga 1 or 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom at Copper Creek.
I guess with the Saratoga 2 bed I can skip the air mattresses. We'd just have to Lyft again to DHS.

Yes, but it is so much easier to use the discover or ax at other places And not worry about if I have enough left on the card to cover what I am picking up.So you're saying you could potentially earn 5x+ on groceries at Winco...![]()

My husband was the same. "I just never expected this" he kept repeating it lol. I was like, what did you expect??? We went after 9pm. I figured we weren't going to get some things anyways, just looking for regular shopping stuff, so I'd at least rather go late and miss most of the crowdsHusband and I went to Winco just to see what was happening.... it was exactly as I expected and much worse than what he expected... but I have a lot of local FB friends posting their experiences and he doesn't so it makes sense.
We did buy some soup and boxed rice mixes... oh and some dried tortellinis Ooh and a double pack of tortillas! (I didn't even know they came in a double pack! I don't go to Winco often).
The churning angle? Winco doesn't take credit cards![]()
Yay! I should have looked lol I think I'll have to call in though with the CPs, not too big of a deal.As long as you change your flight and don’t cancel, your EBCI should follow!
From SW website:
If an EarlyBird Check-In Customer chooses to change a flight, will the EarlyBird Check-In options transfer to the new flight?
It depends. EarlyBird Check-In is tied to the Customer’s reservation for which the EarlyBird Check-In purchase was made and will be transferred to the Customer’s new flight if he/she changes the flight at least 25 hours prior to the original flight’s scheduled departure time and so long as the change is to a flight that will depart in more than 25 hours. Since EarlyBird Check-In is associated with a reservation, any changes must be made within the same reservation record (same confirmation number) in which the Customer purchased EarlyBird Check-In.
Unfortunately, I can't do anything until I hear from the boy. As of last night he didn't know anything (why do I know it all before him?!), maybe he gets approval to go ahead and travel and I don't have to do anything. You know how the military is, hurry up and wait. I'm working between a very full softball schedule and the Army. Neither makes it easy.you better look very soon because stuff is flying off the website since so many canceled for the next few weeks.
I have used turbo tax for yearsTax software recommendations? I used to use Tax Hawk (used Tax Act before it got too pricey) but I have a K-1 now and TaxHawk doesn't support one of the codes (basically my 401k contribution which I need to net out of my guaranteed payments). I'm guessing TurboTax might be my best bet.
