I think I’m going to make reservations the night before, so all I have to do is change flights, that way I don’t have to worry about entering everyone’s names and stuff during the morning rush.

This is an AMAZING idea! Seriously...wow!! 3 clicks and you’re done basically!

The one risk here (if you book people on the same confirmation) and something you want to check is to make sure there isn’t a limited number of tickets at a lower price

EDIT: This must be done on POINTS. It wouldn't work with cash unless you knew the flight you wanted would be a HIGHER price.

Anyone know if purchases made from Marriott hotel snack bars qualify for Brilliant credit? There is a Pizza Hut inside Fairfield across from Disneyland, and I’m wondering if we could use up that Brilliant credit. We have about $150 left before it resets next month.

I would think that it might. Last year I used mine at a nearby restaurant (it was between a Fairfield and TownePlace Suites) and it randomly credited. You can always see if they happen to sell gift cards too. You don't want it to go to waste!

A minor tweak (well major to me...) has been made to the next SW release:

• On March 12, 2020 we will open our schedule for sale through October 30, 2020. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

They are ending the next release on FRIDAY OCTOBER 30th now. Previously it included Saturday 10/31. As a result, my personal interest in this release just went from 100% to 0%, hahaha!!

Ok so I'm thinking of buying my first car. (Live in NYC, usually borrow one of my parents cars if I need one) We're getting to the point where we need our own though. I'm driving to Jersey a lot for different things on the weekends. And I've also had to make about 5 trips to DC since the start of the year. We actually have quite a few URs we could convert to CB to help us with the purchase. But since we have so many savvy savers here. Any tips and tricks I should think about?

My daughter bought her first new car last week. The Honda dealership told her she could charge up to $5000.00 on a credit card for the down payment. I think it’s a Honda policy and not just a dealership policy. She didn’t do it since she only has a Best Buy VISA or MasterCard that she got when she was an undergrad. If you use a car buying service through Costco, Sams or American Express don’t click through on the car you want until you are ready to buy within a few days. Someone called within minutes of clicking through. My DD needed another month of paychecks before she was ready to buy. I got so many emails and phone calls that I felt like they were harassing me. Ultimately we didn’t use the service and I feel we negotiated a great price and financing for her. Good luck!

The cat’s out of the bag! I made DS hunt for some Toy Story characters around the house and then presented him with his 1st birthday gift. He is so excited to be returning, if only for 2 days. He wants to eat somewhere “fancy” for his birthday so I am moving Yachtman’s to Fri and then Cape May, where DH wants to go, to Sat. He is deciding between the light saber and droid making. I will pack the stuff in his backpack. I’m actually really excited because he’s now finished all the HP books plus Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts. He wants to make a HP cake for his birthday. I think he will be really excited to go to USO.

CC’s with straight cash back rewards, do you guys tend to let it sit where it is or move it to savings account or something every so often?

I usually deposit in our savings account whenever it’s a couple hundred, because I use it as vacation money and like to see that account grow, plus it makes a bit of interest. I mostly do it for our Discover cards but will let it accumulate if I know I will use it for GCs from Discover (like I recently used it for Landry’s GCs where you get $50 GC for $45 FB bonus)

Omg I won’t go to 2 weeks past! My doctor and I are gonna make a plan on April 8 for induction if I’ll need it. We talked about doing the Monday after my due date which is 4 days later.

I don’t know anyone who was induced until a week late (or more). My coworker who was induced last week was early but the baby wasn’t growing. Btw, April 8 is an awesome birthday. Just sayin

The other option is to pay our contractor with a card when he bills us for the rest of our garage and then pay the card with our HELOC checkbook (instead of just writing him the check). Which....that could totally work. Do the cc companies get nosey if you do the ENTIRE MSR in one transaction?

I have met MSR in one transaction for 2 different CIPs, no problems though it does feel strange.

So I can book DH and I the night before, with all our info. Then when flight open up I just go to the booked flight, and do what? I assume after I rebook us on correct flights, I add DS as companion.

You'd click change, search for the new flight, complete the change. Boom - done! If you booked them all as separate tickets and one-ways you'd have to do this multiple times, but that could still be faster than entering all of their info multiple times!

And yes, you would add the companion AFTER you've secured the flights you actually want.

I wouldn’t be induced on April 8 lol. That would be super early. We’re just gonna make a plan on that day in case I need to be induced later on. We need 72k URs to book our October DC flights, DH has 43k but I just saw on the Chase app that he has another referral posting on his card that closes on 3/13. So do I wait until the additional 10k post or do I transfer 30k URs on 3/11?

Choose the country you will spend the most time in. That's the general rule of thumb.

Question on the SW cards benefits - we are flying tomorrow and I have the SW Business Performance and the SW Priority personal. They both have 4 upgraded boarding per year when available and the buiness card has inflight wifi credits.

Would the upgraded boardings be redeemed at the gate? If the flight has a layover, would it apply to both segments of the flight? Our flight there is non-stop, but our return flight has a layover.

To use the wifi credits, do we need to have anything downloaded before taking off? We've never used wifi on flights. My son will love it if he can watch youtube during the flight!
