Question on the SW cards benefits - we are flying tomorrow and I have the SW Business Performance and the SW Priority personal. They both have 4 upgraded boarding per year when available and the buiness card has inflight wifi credits.

Would the upgraded boardings be redeemed at the gate? If the flight has a layover, would it apply to both segments of the flight? Our flight there is non-stop, but our return flight has a layover.

To use the wifi credits, do we need to have anything downloaded before taking off? We've never used wifi on flights. My son will love it if he can watch youtube during the flight!

Thanks!

Yes, you get the upgraded boarding at the gate. I think a few people have gotten them at check in, but that's not the normal. I've used them three times now and it's always been available. I don't know for sure, but I think I've heard that the upgraded boarding are only for each segment. Hopefully someone else will chime in. But for the WiFi I would download the Southwest app before you fly. You need it for sure when you use their free tv and movies. You probably don't need it if you're purchasing WiFi, but I'd download anyway to make it easier. I just go on the SW app to purchase the WiFi.

Anyone know if purchases made from Marriott hotel snack bars qualify for Brilliant credit? There is a Pizza Hut inside Fairfield across from Disneyland, and I’m wondering if we could use up that Brilliant credit. We have about $150 left before it resets next month.

Anything you pay for at the front desk on your folio credits. So if you can charge it to your room at the Pizza Hut, it will credit.

I have a situation at a Courtyard which has an independent restaurant inside the hotel. If I pay the restaurant ie give them my card, it doesn't show on my Marriott bill. But I can have the meal charged to my room and then it's on my room bill and credits for the Brilliant.

If your layover involves getting off one plane and boarding a second plane you will need to use an upgrade on each segment.

My daughter bought her first new car last week. The Honda dealership told her she could charge up to $5000.00 on a credit card for the down payment. I think it’s a Honda policy and not just a dealership policy. She didn’t do it since she only has a Best Buy VISA or MasterCard that she got when she was an undergrad. If you use a car buying service through Costco, Sams or American Express don’t click through on the car you want until you are ready to buy within a few days. Someone called within minutes of clicking through. My DD needed another month of paychecks before she was ready to buy. I got so many emails and phone calls that I felt like they were harassing me. Ultimately we didn’t use the service and I feel we negotiated a great price and financing for her. Good luck!
My Honda dealer only allowed $3,500 in September.

I have the ATT offer on DH's BOA debit card - Earn $50 cash back when you make two transactions of at least $15 each with AT&T wireless using your eligible card associated with this offer.

Does this mean I can make two $15 payments to my cell phone and get the cash back? Seems too good to be true.

Chase has run this offer as well as BOA last year, for another carrier and it works. My cell bill is very small and the two offers I used at the time paid $50 for just one payment.

I wish I had it now as I just bought a new Samsung S10+ yesterday. I fought off the urge to spend $1449 on a S20 ultra 5G, and now I'm wishing I had gone ahead and ordered the phone. And, I am not going to pay the phone in one lump sum this time as I can capture a few $5 amex credits and maybe something in the future.

Edit: just added my Chase Freedom as a payment method and paid all $16.79 of my February bill. I had some other offer in January. Now I can 'make payments' until my device is paid off, so come on with any offer! Could do the 5% on the Freedom right now, but maybe, just maybe something better will hit!

Thanks! I'm excited to try it today. Not sure if we'll use the upgraded boardings on this flight. We got decent spots and I'd have to use 3 of them. We'll definitely try out the wifi though!

Thanks! I figured that would be the case, but wasn't sure.

All of our staples credits are showing in our chase accounts!
still not seeing anything on mine yet, which is making me hesitate to go in again and use the last one..... but I bought on Sunday,a day later

if I have a ch*se brand cc for a certain airline.... can I SM if my new cc got some sort of 'damage' and I need to 'replace'? :rolleyes1 and then....well....:thumbsup2

So, what are people's experiences with booking multiple SW flights on points for one person and then canceling fairly last day, not last minute, but definitely last day or so?

DD wants to join us at Hilton Head but wants to fly home early. If she books say to go home Tuesday, but then decides to stay until Wednesday or even Thursday, will 2-3 booked flights hold or get canceled out? Right now flights are $95 or about 6k points but closer to date will be more like $300+, so I want to lock in her indecision. She says she will pay whatever when she is ready to leave, but, but, but......I need to know the best price is attained.

We arrive Sunday at the resort and are booked through until Saturday for 6 nights. She says she only wants to be there 2 nights, but could stay longer if she's enjoying herself.

I think I have a backup plan, but right now I am working this one.

Older daughter has found nonrefundable Frontier flights for like $43, however I'm locked into my own ideas. It's barely an hour and a half nonstop....stops are out of the question.

I've cancelled a couple hours before the flight a couple of times. I haven't had a problem getting points back.
