Amex Bonvoy Biz AF will hit shortly. Here's my thinking. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
AF is $125. Added up savings via offers in the last year and it was $165. Thinking of keeping it because I more than broke even, plus the Free night.
Sound thinking?

That's the way my brain worked for mine.

Make sure to inquire about a retention offer. I was able to get a $50 retention offer, which made it even better.

I don't always value my savings on the offers at full value. For example, I have saved 10% at lowe's up to $100 back. That's great and I've used that to buy Kroger gift cards. So it saves me $110 (10% plus normal rewards), but I could also have used my BCP at Kroger and saved $60. So I only value the offer at $50.

That's a good way to look at it. Thank you.

I have a different opinion of the math here since both are essentially 'cash back' offers. The option is to use either card. You still save $110 using the Lowes offer. You still have $110 in your pocket.

Yes, 6% on the BCP is a really good reward.

But if you don't actually HAVE a BCP, you don't have the choice.

Most of us catch a card for the sign up bonus and keep it because it continues to pay it's way. The BCP will pay 6% on up to $6K. Once you spend the $6K, you are back to 1%. Even as a 2 person household I can get to $6k well before the year ends.

So, there is room (in my house) to capture the $6k (if I had the card - I don't but I have other cards) and the 10% from the Lowes offer.

Your mileage may vary depending on what cards you have in your wallet.

I have a question for all of you experts. I have an unexpected last minute trip the week of Thanksgiving. The best flight times are on Delta, and I don't have any Skymiles. I do have MRs which transfer 1:1. I also have a CSR. Which of these options would you go with? 48500 MR, 33146 UR, or $497.20 cash. Or is there another partner I'm not aware of that would provide better value?

FYI: there are 75k UR offers on CIC/CIU available.

If you’ve been following r/churning, you might already have been aware of these offers as they’ve been discussed in some circles for a few weeks now but posting for visibility as these might be easier to access now as well. Still no support links here.

The MSR on these offers is $7,500 which might seem hefty for some folks.

It’s all about your personal situation. I have a bcp and won’t max it out this year so to be the value of the Lowe’s Amex offer is no where near 100% for me. Same with most other offers. Bb&b has $5 off $$25 Amex offers sometimes. I don’t value that at $5 because I can save 15% easily at Kroger. So I’m only saving an extra 5 percentage points. This is how my math mind works. We all have to figure out what makes sense.

Went to apply for the CIC and the direct links from Chase are coming up an offer of $750 /75,000URs after spending $7,500 in the first 3 months instead of the usual $500/50,000URs after spending $3,000

Edited to add I found a link to the old offer since that worked better for us...DH didn’t get instant approval but I did :flower1:

I know a few of you got in on the X-box series X presale, any advice for someone who didn’t? It is being released tomorrow and I’ve read Walmart might have it? Do I go online at midnight? Go to the store?
It’s the only thing my son is asking for, for Christmas - wish I knew that when the presale was happening.

From what I've read, Walmart will have it at midnight eastern. Looks like BB will have it at 1 AM EST. I'm setting my alarm:( And I'm not optimistic. I know gamestop has already said they won't have many. And maybe I read Amazon said people who pre-ordered in October may not get them until 12/31--that doesn't sound right???

Exactly - it's all about your personal situation. That's the point I was trying to make and you clarified it nicely. To me it's about taking my yearly overall spend and dividing it up to maximize the value. Sometimes that will encompass new cards and other times it will be mostly spend based on points and offers, such as the last year and a half for me.

I think I drive myself nuts (I'm sure I'm not the only one on here) trying to optimize everything. And when I don't I get frustrated with myself.

Thanks! I guess I’ll be online at midnight then. Good luck!!🍀

I'm not an aspirational traveler (Maldives, sky suites, etc) so I value UR's over MR's so would sacrifice the MR's and hoard the UR's. If I were to want to travel first to exotic destinations I'd be holding onto my MR's.

So for you, if you want to do something exciting with your MR's, maybe hold them? Otherwise, they become Delta Skymiles. Cash is cash and UR's can become cash if not used for travel. So, cash goes into the bank, UR's become cash (and can be banked) and MR's get made into other currency or even Home Depot gift cards.

It appears that the public offer for the CSP has already gone back to the 60k URs/$4k MSR offer.

Good news - Support links are still showing the 80k UR offer!

Honestly, I have no idea how long this might last. It could be gone tomorrow morning, it could stick around for 2 weeks. That said, if you want this offer, act fast! Reminder: There is a 48 month restriction on the Sapphire cards so make sure you are eligible.

For those that are holding out hope for another week, or two, (or more), I hope that this sticks around for you!!
