Gaaah! Just sharing my excitement over a small thing today..... I've been waiting and wanting a Kitchenaid mixer for quite a while now....couldn't bring myself to purchase (I don't know why I cook like a fiend daily) anywayyyy... I got the target redcard debit offer a month or so back, with the 'spend $100,get $50' coupon....and waited. This am I checked the website, and the type (and color!) I wanted was on sale.....plus another 15% off in cart!..... I went thru Rakuten, used the coupon, plus the redcard for another 5% and saved $93 off the sale price on the website!!! (dang these things are pricey) anyway with tax it was about $145 overall..... I'm happy! It seems the size and color I want always cost more.....:cool1: next time I make cookies it's gonna be fun to play with this!
Yay! You are going to love it! My (cobalt blue) KA will be 28 years old this Christmas and is still going strong :)

It's usually better to use Disney gift cards that you've already gotten a higher return on. Most Disney gift cards you've gotten a minimum of 5 % on, there is no credit card that you can use at the Disney desk that will give you a better return.
Ok, that’s what I thought. I will bring my gift cards. 😎

Good questions!
Thanks everyone, I have been purchasing 10% DGC's for dues for awhile now but would stop after my dues were paid. I have been using my CSR since I got it for WDW trips (including adding my AP to the room charge). I had already planned on including the cost of my AP this year in my DCG total, but I see now where it makes since to just keep working the gc path,. I was quitting way to early.

I only started doing DGC for dues last year. So, when dues time came around Dec of 2018, I had enough cards in my stash to pay my dues, but then I was pretty much tapped out. So, I started doing every DGC offer I could figure out in anticipation of this years trips and paying the dues starting in Dec. I'm there, but gathering the cards has become my job - I'll keep on doing it, but mostly with the idea of collecting a year's worth of dues and trips - that's money I would spend anyway.

Why have I never thought of this... my least favorite part is mixing up meat when making meatballs or hamburgers! Do you use the paddle?

This is a big thing for their CCs for me, the one's that cover so many upgrades. Even if it was OOP now I'd rather pay the $40-$50 and know I'll be up front vs pay $25 for EBCI and maybe still be far back. Last trip back from Disney there was a guy complaining at the counter because he bought it and got a C spot.
We probably would try them more often but they don’t fly nonstop from Florida to Iowa at all and that’s where we fly the most. Allegiant flies nonstop for cheap and they even fly to the small airport closer to our family

Week wrap up - I made it one day to Staples for some MCGC. I was able to get $1000 in one purchase. Also had an offer on my CSR and CF for Staples. For those I got some GCs for Christmas presents and Amazon purchases. I had 3 separate transactions with all the GCs on different cards. Probably drove the cashier crazy. Last time the cashier didn't know how to split the total on separate cards so I just had him ring separately.

Also hit up Lowes since I had 10% offer on CF card. In addition to more GCs, I also stalked their clearance plants and got two nice carnations that I can plant. Last year I got 6 day lilies for $1 a piece on clearance that turned out very nice this year. Buying and planting perennials in the fall is a great, cheap way to add to my flower garden.

Last night watched Toy Story 4 (from the library). I was a little worried after reading all the negatives here. While not the best, I didn't hate it.

One year at Lowes I got Hibiscus for $5 a plant on their 'we just let these almost die' rack. I bought a half dozen and planted them around my back deck. Turned out beautiful but they die off in winter here. Since at that time I was working, next door neighbor dug them up and planted in pots inside. She still has them. Haven't seen a deal on them since, but get to visit the old ones at neighbors' house from time to time.

Dh went to Lowe’s this morning for some things, including mulch. The guy at the register said he saw a hole in one of the bags so gave him all of the mulch for 50% off because of it lol

I think it's a pretty good price once you get it in the cart...comes to $207.22. This one is fine for me as I'm not a heavy user. It depends what you are going to do with it - if you will use it every day for 'heavy' batters, then their are heavy duty models, for a lot more money. And, I like the gray color. In my black and white kitchen the blue would be definitely a pop of color.

Unfortunately the new ones are not the same quality. I love mine but am on my third one in 18 years. I have the heavy duty one and still wear out the motor.

For the SWA talk. Our flight Friday the FA were allowing people to hold seats no problem. DH had A21 and I was B 31. There were seats all around me that were held. Window and isle seats in the first 10 rows. People didn’t fill them till c30 and beyond. People complained and the FA didn’t make them move their bags. One lady held 5 seats in the 3rd row. I was really shocked that the seat saving was being allowed. We go on knowing that if DH holds a seat and someone asks he just moves to the next row that has two seats. Most don’t want a middle seat so he typically doesn’t get asked.

DH is so anti - seat saving that one time someone took the middle seat next to him when I was less than 10 people behind her :rotfl: That's okay, there was an aisle seat still open right where I was so I took that. I am fine/happy to throw on headphones and read; DH is the one who cares more about us sitting together.

Last year I want to say Black Friday deals had some under $200. I can’t remember which one I have but it’s worked great and I’ve been using it to make 7 tiered cakes for 10+ years. I don’t have the heavy duty and it gets the job done.

The classic is less than $200. But I thought I read the classic has plastic parts and this has metal parts, making it better?

I would have just sat down on their bags, after asking nicely once for them to be moved, but I'm a typical Passive-Aggressive Minnesotan.

Busy weekend. Just catching up.
At suntrust because I couldn’t find my checking account online. These bank bonuses are work!
Ugh the one I’m doing is local area and they are awful. First requested a bunch of paperwork by snail mail. Then I had DHs pay DD into account. Tried to use debit card, no go. Failed a couple times online and in store so I called. Turned out they locked the account because they hadn’t received the snail mail copy of my drivers license. Then I tried to set up bill pay, which you start online but then have to wait days for it to “activate”. Finally got the email yesterday so I can try to set up bill pay today.
Sorry for the late response. When are you flying into MSY? Spring break IIRC? The new terminals are set to open Nov 6th (after months of delays) and traffic patterns will change.
I know someone who drives for Lyft. I’ll try to get details.
Thanks
Yes, Spring Break at the end of March/beginning of April.
Scam call story-

MIL/FIL and sibling in laws were here visiting. SIL gets a call from our cousin “Hey...is FIL next to you?” Yes? Turns out she had ro call to prove to grandma that FIL was safe. Someone called grandma and said they had kindapped FIL and would kill him if she didnt go to her bank and withdrawal money for a drop. Thankfully grandma was at cousin’s house who quickly stepped in and assured her it was spam (grandma definitely believed the caller, especially considering FIL was out of town).
Years ago-like 1970s-my mom got a call like that about a relative, an uncle I think. That he was in jail. Back before cell phones/internet. My mom probably would have wired the money but my dad was having none of it. I think it took 24 hours of phone calls to make sure he was ok.
There have been quite a few reports that some WN GAs are cracking down on family boarding, and occasionally they eliminate it all together. The actual policy is two adults with a child six or younger. This is one of the reasons I'm hesitant to book WN for my family of four since my oldest ages out of family boarding next week.
Even if no family boarding, SW allows you to save seats so...
I have never seen them turn kids away from family boarding either, if one of them is 6 or under. I have seen them make announcements that only 2 adults are allowed to board with them and that extended family needs to board with their own group. I hate boarding with B's because they're after the families (It's my get off my lawn moment). My last B53 killed me a little inside. I do think that families should board after EBCI. I never buy it but i'm annoyed for people who do, and end up with a B (which I've seen happen).
Last flight I paid for EBCI and got like B40. DS and DH, without EBCI, got B50 or so.
Glad to see the Kitchenaid talk is back! I love mine. I was just saying to DH how much I still love it. I think mine is about 15 years old now. Use at least once a week if not more. Last night it mixed up meatballs. I just ordered an extra bowl for Christmas cookie time. It took me way too long to decide to just buy an extra bowl. Used some credits on Chase cards at staples and lowes to get Amazon cards to order a few things last week - one of which was my bowl.
I have 2 bowls and 2 paddles.
And are you the one that shared the pretzel bites recipe? Finally made them this week, with a few changes. Used 1/2 whole wheat flour and instant yeast. They are delish although the shaping was weird, I’ll need to work on that. I did manage to ruin my calphalon pan because I didn’t think about the strong base that baking soda is etching the anodized aluminum 🤦‍♀️

SW doesn’t have an anti seat saving policy.
