Very expensive but almost everything is included, all the rooms have balconies (I need one--claustrophobic), and each port has an included excursion (some are very good, others are not). And they go to some really interesting places, too! Plus, no kids lol
AH see that’s good stuff to know because sometimes that can make up for the extra cost. The excursions being included is a big deal if they’re good ones. We’re doing our first cruise soon and we did pay extra for a verandah because I need the balcony.

I know we have some Hooters fans here, so enjoy:

Don’t forget to click through a cash back portal!

I have NO idea who you're talking about, but I signed up for one! Thanks!

I think it was free for me, as a new Groupon customer? I gave CC info, but it said the bill was 0 for $30 Groupon. This woulda been perfect for tonight because fortuitously I haven't paid for a meal in 2 days (at home, not on biz travel). :D

@DisneyMandC so glad you had a great trip! It sounds like everyone got along and genuinely had a good time which is why you go in the first place. I have seen Joy and Sadness twice. Once just with my middle on our solo trip and once last October when we were able to go to the AP night. Both times we waited but I put those two together as definitely worth the wait. So much fun.

I don’t think we’d sail with Disney because it’s just so expensive. I’ve heard good things about princess. Is it less of a party atmosphere?

Definitely not a party atmosphere  We didn't go to any of the shows (didn't appeal) but we hung out at one of the lounges. Excursions started so early every port day that people tended to go to bed early.

Okay good lol. We most likely won’t do royal Caribbean or carnival cruises

We loooove cruises. Celebrity is our favorite line but we will likely stick to DCL while our kids are young and then when they are older mix it up. Carnival long cruises are usually not party atmosphere.

My parents are on their 30th celebrity cruise. They have even done the Galapagos! If you want a subdued crowd do Canada on Celebrity; my dad aaid my mom was the hot young thing on board and she was 60 at the time :rotfl:

I've come to the simple conclusion that price is the biggest factor for the Party Crowd. Cheaper = more party-goers. So lines priced a little above Carnival reduce party crowd. More importantly longer cruises at the 7 day or greater range really helps.

We've done several with kids on DCL, and Princess and Carnival without. One transatlantic on Cunard, an trying Royal Caribbean next year. I also hear good thing about Celebrity.

Southwest has a policy that you can pretty much cancel and rebook anytime there is a price drop on your flight. Whatever the difference you get back is in the form of "travel funds," which have to be used within one year of your original booking date and only by the traveler named on the itinerary you changed. If you fly somewhat regularly it can be a great thing, if you only fly once a year, it probably won't matter.
So you just book the same flight at the new rate and then cancel the other? Or can you modify the existing one? Sorry for being dumb, but I’ll be flying SW in 30 days and hadn’t even thought to check prices since I booked the “wanna get away” fare.

For those who were wondering about the Garnet Hill cashmere wrap. Here’s my review. It is soft and not scratchy. It is lightweight and keeps you warm. I like it and am glad it arrived just before our trip.
Looking forward to the @SouthFayetteFan review of his wrap in light oatmeal LOL

Star Tours was a dealbreaker for me! I didn't try it with any medication, but it was a once and done.
Star Tours is responsible for making DH sick enough to leave me in Epcot with 3 kids 4 and under during F&W. He tried his best to keep going after the boat ride over from HS but was just too done. To be fair, it was my choice to stay and rally for the kids, but oh man that was a tough afternoon.

I don't understand the whole "slider" thing. I would happily give the one they sent me to someone if I knew where it was. I don't love the MBs, and the added feel of the slider just wasn't a positive addition for me. .

I agree 100%! I hate teh feeling of anything on my wrist. I wear very thin Skagen watches, when I must, and can;t stand fitbits or anything like that

I wasn’t going to name names. 😉

Glad you got a deal. 👍

Girl! You look like a model in that!

I swear by Bonine, it doesn’t make me drowsy at all and I don’t feel “stoned” the way Dramamine gets me. It is a lot harder to find though, generally I can only get it at Walgreens.

Weirdly enough I’m fine on simulator rides, it’s coasters and transportation that can make me sick. Only time it happened on a ship was on Navigator of the Seas on the way back to Rome (Civitavecchia), one night we had rough seas and I got horribly dizzy and had to spend the whole night after dinner lying down. We were on deck 11 so up fairly high. I’ve heard lower decks are better for motion because you don’t feel it as much.
Thank you! I should try Walgreens and CVS. I did just get a CVS offer on my CSR so it could work well!

Motion sickness and I are old adversaries. I have a patch on right now, for the plane ride, FoP and Smugglers Run. Star Tours doesn't even sit well with Meclizine anymore. Maybe with the patch I will try it, or I will just shop, as usual while they ride. The patch is a godsend to me, it got me through a cruise in a hurricane, I could not believe it worked that well! My OBGYN gives me a standing prescription for them at my annual visit LOL, she is the best.
Thanks for the information! I will try the pills before going with the Rx. I guess the ultimate test would be Star Tours or Spaceship Earth. Maybe I will try it towards the end of my day/trip just to be safe LOL

@PolyRob There is a prescription patch (transderm scop/scopolamine) and it can be very effective, if you can tolerate the side effects. My dear dear mother, bless her heart, swears by them and always wears one to fly, cruise and even...shm...for our river cruise this past June (serious overkill since river cruises have very little motion).

I get all sorts of motion sick except seasick-only twice in all the times I've been on boats and cruises-once in high waves/rough seas on a sailboat and my very first cruise on DCL when the waves were >20' and the Captain had come on to warn about rough seas and seasickness. Now I just throw bonine and ginger candy in my travel purse just in case and request ginger ale in my cool box (when I'm traveling in concierge). When I'm completely prepared, I'm never sick so Murphy's law.

I'm excited for you as you contemplate your first cruise-please don't hesitate to ask any questions you have-many of us have cruised before and that's how the mouse receives the majority of my $$$ now.
Thank you! I will have to look into the side effects. Smart to always carry it. I've actually seen the "natural" variations of the motion medication with ginger so that is a good call.

Thank you! I was originally looking for spring 2020, but pushed it to 2021 instead. Definitely exciting to try something new like cruising especially DCL which seems to get great reviews! :yay:

Check your Dramamine cause some are meclizine.
You were 100% correct. I get the 24 hour non-drowsy version and the active ingredient... Meclizine HCI 25mg Antiemetic

I completely understand! You wouldn't think it was that bad of a ride by just looking at it, but I actually closed my eyes towards the end. I recovered by resting and eating part of a Mickey pretzel 🤣

@PolyRob I agree with those saying to sandwich the cruise between WDW stays! It’s kind of hard to understand how sad it is to leave the ship on that last morning, but knowing that you’re going to WDW certainly helps!

One trip we did 2 nights in a studio at the Poly, 7 night Eastern cruise, a night at BCV and then a night at SSR. By the end of that we actually felt like it was time to go home.
Thank you! Departing WDW is sad enough, I can only imagine! It would be nice to have something to do before and after!
