Resort Thread Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa - **THE PERCH BAR NOW OPEN!!!**

I have it on good CM Authority that there WILL be a tree. But no one knows when it’ll happen…
There was never any question that the tree might not happen. The guests would riot in the lobby. It has always been a question of when & where. I had money on you to get the deets to share on DIS. Oh well.

Nov 15: negative on the tree/decorations. But I was told by 2 CMs to expect them “in the next few days.” Hopefully this means tomorrow since I’m departing tomorrow afternoon!

Garden View Tea Room Near Complete at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Though the resort’s new lobby bar is open, work is still ongoing at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. A portion of the second floor of the lobby is currently closed for painting and construction continues at the Garden View Tea Room.

The center of the lobby was completed in October and The Perch opened earlier this month.

The tea room has not operated since 2020. Its new stained glass windows were installed a few weeks ago. These feature birds and branches, matching the rest of the lobby’s theming.

For now, the windows are covered by scrim. The tea room is set to reopen next year with a new tea experience.

The gold painted “GF” logo and filigree has been completed at both ends of the lobby. These replace 3D shell-like elements.

On the second floor, a section of hallway near the Enchanted Rose Lounge is closed. White curtains keep guests away.

From across the lobby, we could see a crew member behind the curtains painting the previously dark blue wall white.

It’s interesting, it seems the plan is to not put back the chandelier lampshades they took off a few weeks ago. Haven’t been in person to see, but probably looks better - they were a little dated looking. Shade-less looks good in the photos.
I’ve been thinking the same thing ever since they took all the shades off. The chandeliers look much better without them!
