I'm so sad / mad at myself . I applied for the barclaycard arrival+ for DH and myself and I missed the spend deadline for DH's card. I had plenty to put on it too. I don't know what I was thinking - I don't know if I thought the spend was only $4,000 and I was done or that I had longer or what, but I totally missed the boat on it.

I messaged them to see if there was anything at all that could be done, but in my heart I know what they are going to say . I was going to use the 70,000 bonus points from each card to pay most of the rental fees for a house for DD2's graduation next May. Everything is SO expensive down there during prime weekends and this would have at least eased the blow of paying an arm and a leg to have a place to stay.

At this point, I guess I still need to wait for the year to cancel? Can I ever re-apply with barclay to try again to get the bonus points?

I had to upgrade for work -- they developed an app and I couldn't find it on iTunes with iOS12. Once I upgraded to iOS13 it was there. I hate it -- the autocorrect is crazy. Yealink keeps autocorrecting to Yelling and Laval was something really weird. Those are just the ones I remember. Can't wait for iOS13.1 to fix the bugs. At least I can access the app I need for work.

Oh, I had to work at it. It just didn't happen on its own. But work at it I did (including lying down with her sometimes) but all that sleep was totally worth it. I also didn't put her to bed at 6pm, like all the people I knew who did that and then complained that they got up too early or wouldn't nap. She did not fall asleep easily, and didn't always sleep through the night, but I did teach her not to wake us up early.

well..... that's excellent! My first,on the other hand was in a category of his own..... (I'm an experienced child handler lol) and he still is.... our final go to? by about 2 yo we gated him safely in his own room with his toys,so he could just play till whenever he fell asleep.... we were right next door to his room,and we'd usually fall asleep,exhausted by 11 or so....that kid was nocturnal! Except that would mean sleeping all day,which he did NOT do. He just wore us down and out until we gave up so we could rest! ( I think he usually crashed about 2 am) I installed our first bedroom tv at that point (an old black and white) so I could turn on Barney and pbs shows for him when he woke up at 5-6 and wanted to play(it bought me a little more sleep time) Thank goodness I was a sahm so I made sure his dad got sleep so he could get to work the next morning..... I don't think I could do that all over again.... as a teen he made up for not sleeping tho lol

Question about booking a flight with AA miles. Can I change or reschedule flight and get points back or are they non refundable? Just found out my DH could have jury duty this winter and we were thinking about possible booking a flight with AA miles for February or March. Want to know what our options are before we book. We haven’t even decided where we are going yet. It’s all up in the air right now. First we were thinking of going to California, visiting some family and then Hawaii from there. But now our family brought up the idea of going to Cozumel and meeting there instead.

I book w/ AA miles all the time. You can change your dates whenever you want. If you want to avoid the fee to get your points back, you just have to keep the same to/from. I think otherwises it's $150 to get the points back. But you can literally change just before the flight if needed.

Updates from before:

• I messed up my math for upgrading our passes to the version with EP every night, it was actually $532.50 for both It was still a hair less than buying EP for Fri and Sat nights.
• We ended up getting all four of us 3 day P2P tickets and upgrading them to Seasonal 2 park APs for $0, using 81.5k URs (this was only 1300 more URs each so we figured why not, in case anyone is back in the next year)
• I actually had put only our Rush of Fear passes towards DHs Plat MSR
• I purchased MIL/Aunt's passes and EPs with VGCs which I bought at Safeway with the $10 off coupon with my new Amex Gold, so 4x points and towards MSR

We spent about $1000 on food/souvenirs/extras. Some of the food costs were MIL/Aunt and they will pay us back, we paid because seasonal APs get a 10% discount during passholder appreciation days and we hadn't upgrade their tickets yet - saved about $55 over our meals (2 TS for 2, 3 TS for 4, and 2 QS for 4). So really we were closer to $800-$850 on things. Oh, we also treated our disboard friends we met up with for lunch since we were only paying food OOP this trip. Perks of points - share the love!

I was able to charge $670 of that to the room, plus the cost of upgrading our Rush of Fear passes, so about $1170 total - we made a $300 payment with DHs CSR to use the travel credit, and the rest went towards my CIP MSR for 3x points. I'll make an $1150 payment via Plastiq this week to finish up the MSR now.

$50 was an Amazon Prime Now order including fees/tip - I'm 99% sure I would do this again, we got a case of water and an 8 pack of 12oz coke bottles for DH, and 3 bottles of wine, and paid $5 for a one hour delivery window. Skipping the wine and paying the fees would have put us around $25 - Water was $4.50 and Pop $4.79 in the parks. DH likes to have a coke at night a lot when we get back to the room, and sometimes in the morning, but doesn't typically finish the whole thing so the 12oz size was great for that, plus he wasn't buying a $5 bottle/hunting for a vending machine. I discovered I can easily carry 3 bottles in my bag and they stay really cold for hours.

We ubered to/from MCO using a 10% off GC I had gotten - used about $75 of it total. We used our Plat credit back over Labor Day weekend.

So all in all we used $235k URs for $3600 in value, 67k SW RRs for $1600 in value, and about $1400 OOP.

Love your numbers!!!! I'll definitely be asking you (the UO expert) more questions soon! I'm really thinking I like the idea of buying tix thru UR portal and then upgrading to AP over there....

Our 8yo ds sleeps on our floor. He started about a year ago and he's just never moved out. We're okay with it cause he sleeps much better on our floor than in his room (shared with his brother). And he never wakes up during the night...so that is good...

I'm glad we weren't the only ones who did this..... when our 2nd came along, he slept just fine in his little bassinet near us...and ds1 who was 6 at the time used to come in our room late at night and sleep on a sleeping bag on the floor! like I mentioned upthread...we just gave up in the interest of saving ourselves lol. When oldest was 8-9,he finally moved to his own room with little bro as his companion.... which only lasted a few years b/c ds1 kept the younger one up with his light on half the night (sigh) so eventually they got their own spaces (again,to save our sanity,we just gave up) and he basically lived in a closet sized room out of necessity! (small house problems lol) He's on his own now of course and I no longer care if he stays up half the night!
