Just know that DL is small, and it's super easy to walk from one park to the other, which means you don't have to plan it all out like you do when you're going to WDW. Enjoy the planning, but don't stress about it either.



I just want to let you know that I'm really glad you're safely at WDW now. Add good choice with the room being in Jambo in case you won't be able to go outside at all.

They mentioned they would close the Mara since you have to walk outside to get there.

SC governor just announced mandatory evac for coastal communities tomorrow, they'll switch the freeways at 12:30pm. 830k people have to leave.

I guess that means my friend is about to be held captive. She works in a hospital and gets locked in for hurricanes. She has the lovely job of telling family members when their loved ones die.

I got an email from dvc today about scheduling a tour on my upcoming trip and I'll get a $50 gc. Very much considering it because I think it'd be interesting. How close to the trip can I wait to book it? I would do it instead of DS which I'm totally up in the air about going to so I want some time to think about it.

I would do the SSR preview center instead of PVB, CCV, or BWV so you can get the full preview center experience, see the current models for a few places, and get the free ice cream. Guessing with that many people and having to switch the freeway they thought it'd be better to do it earlier so there was time, no idea. Or in case it speeds up because it could or it could slow down again.

I always laughed a little when they'd show all the storms out there on the news in NC but they always said there was no reason to worry about the one's close to africa until they got closer because a lot of the time they fizzle out into nothing. It also amazes me that these storms travel so freakin far.

I would because I've been curious about them. There's an unrelated whataburger chain in NC and there was one near work and one near my house so I'd sometimes go it wasn't bad and it was mostly that it was close and I could get sun drop that made me go. Pretty sure the one in TX would be better.

@SouthFayetteFan you'll appreciate this. I always find watching the weather channel weird because there's 2 former seattle weathermen on it. Though I always find it odd when I discover where someone went. One of our local weekend anchors is now a reporter on nbc nightly news and one of the anchors I liked in CLT is here now but not on my preferred morning station so I rarely watch.

I can handle that stuff (that’s why I don’t have animals) If it isn’t clean by the time my dad gets home he will probably punish them both and clean it himself. They fight like crazy and I’m about to leave them home alone lol they are 16 and 15.

I've already got my totally not needed spiel figured out that I want more info but I'm going to start saving for reflections Which could be true eventually who knows. And if I do it at SSR I can take the boat to DS which would be nice. And I've heard decent things about the resort, is the QS good? I'll need somewhere to eat lunch so I could do epcot and then head to SSR around noon eat lunch and do a tour at like 1 or 130. My fp's aren't until the evening at MK so I don't know what all I'll do in the morning but I need to get one of my taps in for my AP stuff

Is there a cat tree or another high-up place for the cats to escape? I think they'd be less afraid (and less likely to cause trouble) if they had a place where they felt safe from the dog.

If you have honest questions you can definitely ask the guide. It is also nice to gauge how honest he/she is being with you. If you don't like the person and really are interested, you can always call and get a different one.

I have honestly never eaten at the Artist's Palette, but I know it is centrally located by the preview center. If you don't want to worry about heading to SSR yourself, DVC will pick you up in a DVC van and transport you to the preview center.

I think we all are. She seemed so worried (with good reason) and now she's set up in a nice place (WDW) where even the big Dis guy Pete Werner sent his mother - he said so in his CNN interview.

And, we haven't heard too much from @*WDW*Groupie - not sure I typed that correctly - I did see that she 'liked' something earlier.

I know, it’s crazy how far out they start! Yes, I definitely won’t be seriously looking at any weather until the week of our trip. But having gone through many hurricanes too, I know how variable they can be. Just because there’s one brewing doesn’t mean it’ll hit us and could just slam the northeast, like Sandy. I don’t think we saw anything in VA from that other than some wind and rain in the SE. We’ve lost power from hurricanes a couple times but our only real damage ever came from Isabel. My MIL is what I like to call a “weather wimp,” so I told my BIL that he can tell her now that unless a direct hit is looking likely for our home or Orlando on 9/21, everyone is getting on the plane and going to Disney lol

We’ve booked VGT twice for less than $4k and upgraded at the port to concierge for a little over a $1000 on our 7 night cruise so less than $5k for what others in concierge paid double or more.

One of the MD meteorologists posted about how the 1933 tropical storm cut the inlet at OC. He mentioned that this storm may split or make some of the Bahamian islands disappear.

There are plenty of people who only want the GC and free FP+ so the guide shouldn't waste too much of your time. The van will also drop you off somewhere afterward, but if you want DS, heading there yourself is probably easiest.
