And we thought the RAT’s claws were long and sharp? The Mouse is just as ruthless! From someone who was able to take advantage of this morning’s shopDisney 40% off gift cards glitch:

ETA: Calls are coming in about orders getting canceled.
Approximately how long does it take to receive the Hilton Biz Cards?
$788 for 3/29-4/2 Yikes!I can't make that decision for you LOLIf I'm paying $700 a night though I better be able to walk to Epcot/DHS OR I better have a view of the castle out my window...
HAHA!
Yes! MCO is Orlando International and where Disney has the free Magical Express shuttle to resorts owned and operated by WDWPoking around on the American Airlines website (since I'm gonna have miles for them I won't be using elsewhere) and guess what! I can get to Florida with them!
Is "MCO" that you all refer to a lot the best/most convenient airport to fly into for WDW?
I wouldn't necessarily plan anything super soon but if a decent trip could be had without messing up my other churning/Japan plans, I'd be ok with that!
Ok at least I got that part right!Yes! MCO is Orlando International and where Disney has the free Magical Express shuttle to resorts owned and operated by WDW![]()
Thanks for the info! So, if you buy the insurance for $44 pp and had to cancel, you'd get everything else back as a travel voucher?Like several others, I booked a trip through Delta Vacations today. Headed to Portland over Christmas to see family.
I booked a package today and was told that you can cancel up to 30 days before and it is $200 per person. The amount goes up from there, I booked a package for 3 people and the cancellation fee was $600 up to 30 days prior, then jumps to $900, then well over a $1,000. I ended up buying the insurance for $44 per person since there is a chance we could have to cancel or rebook. If you cancel, you get a voucher back for value of the miles minus the cancellation.
There are some great deal out there. I have wasted lots of time the last few days looking at various vacation scenarios. For us it is a win/win. We can use the miles and get better value while still earning skymiles in the process.
I'm so sorry your trip is cancelled. We love going in Sept but we've been affected by hurricanes a couple times and had we gone this year for LD, it would have been 3 of 4 years (if I have my dates all right). It's pretty shocking how often there seems to one around this time of year.
My dh and I always joke about if the flight will be full or not. It is. Always! My dh just flew back from New Orleans on SW and they had 30 empty seats (lots empty going too). So, I guess not 100% full planes exist. We are just never on those lol!I don't know the last time we had a flight to MCO that wasnt full!
Now the real question... does the internet work?
I remember when I was flying from Jackson MS to BWI quite frequently and we were lucky if there were 30 people on the entire flight. That worked well since they were always later flights and I was ready to get home so it was nice to be able to spread out.My dh and I always joke about if the flight will be full or not. It is. I changed one yesterday and paid actual money by credit card. When I cancelled this morning, the portion I put on a credit card yesterday was refunded to the card.Honestly I'm very conflicted. We have the flights but I don't want to leave the house. It's super tough to decide what to do.
What is the cancellation policy for SW? Paid by credit card.
Where in FL are you?I feel your conflict. My insides are churning (if that makes sense) trying to put on a brave face for dd but being scared of what could happen if we left and what might happen if we don't. No easy answers here -- I wish there were. I'm going to make a final decision by tomorrow morning. The flight we have booked is at around 1:00pm.
I remember when we’d fly with our girls when they were little and we didn’t have the boys yet (so 2000-2008) and there’d be quite a few open seats. We’d frequently be some of the only people in the last half of the plane. It was really nice to have that space!I remember when I was flying from Jackson MS to BWI quite frequently and we were lucky if there were 30 people on the entire flight. I probably will make a decision by tomorrow night. Idk if they’ll even know the path of the storm by tomorrow. I’m not booking a hotel though until I have a better idea of the path. Having a flight is definitely a little different since you’ll have to cancel in time. Is your house older?
