Thanks. I still have one coupon I can use if I feel like going back to Frisco or seeing if there is a Safeway on the way to Glenwood Springs. I didn’t have the MC offer yesterday (either didn’t have or missed it) but now see it is available on my acct. I might grab some but feel good I already got the $600 yesterday so not urgent.

Add the coupon anyway, just in case it gets pulled early.

Reminder that the MCGC are (very likely) Metabanks and process as debit for an only 1% fee on Plastiq.

DHs brother now has him convinced that any motel style room at WDW won't be safe.

Two words - building codes!

I think your plan is good. It's not a set path and it's still too early to know what it will do. If my flighy was today I'd still go knowing what's known now.

And @striker1064 and his degree may say I'm nuts but I don't see the high pressure staying put. Granted our coast and water temps are different but we generally don't get highs or lows hanging out for so long. I think it's going to move like some of the spaghetti models are starting to show in my uneducated storm watching opinion.

And we thought the RAT’s claws were long and sharp? The Mouse is just as ruthless! From someone who was able to take advantage of this morning’s shopDisney 40% off gift cards glitch:
Just wanted to give an update. I transferred the 150 card that I got for 90 to a plastic card as soon as I got it. I just received a phone call from shop Disney I let it go to voicemail and they said that it was a pricing error that occurred this morning they deactivated the card and took the funds away from the card I transferred it to. They claim my credit card will be refunded.

ETA: Calls are coming in about orders getting canceled.

Honestly I'm very conflicted. We have the flights but I don't want to leave the house. It's super tough to decide what to do.

What is the cancellation policy for SW? Paid by credit card.
I know exactly how you feel right now. I think we’re 98% sure we’re staying and just riding it out. Dh has been working on the generator tonight and thinks he might have it working so that it will run our entire house AC. Then we just have to run extension cords for the fridge and tv or anything else. I don’t feel comfortable trying to leave with the cats and idk how much better Orlando would be. No one here has even put shutters up yet

I would consider flying but we have the cats so that’s not really an option for us. It would be too difficult to deal with and I’m not sure Dh would be on board with flying somewhere.
Definitely it’s much harder taking our pets into consideration.....I’m sure he will be fine in Orlando...it’s just a Mom thing...we worry no matter how old kids are

Making more progress on MSRs. I think Platinum is done. Citi AA biz will be done next week when I make a second payment on my quarterly taxes. Now working on BBC. We just signed DS up for Varsity Tutors for a Life Coach (study and organization tutor). I just think it's comical they refer to it as a Life Coach--but seriously I need a life coach desperately. Anyway, I split the annual payment in two payments and was able to use a credit card. So between DD's swimming and DS's life coach, I'm at $10 k of $15 k. Yippee. CIP 3 is on the horizon:)

Oh my parents have been very worried. Surprisingly, my mom has been the more calm of the two which is weird. My dad keeps telling us we need to leave. I’m just not sure Orlando will be much better and I don’t really want to drive there with the cats

We have been through hurricanes here on LI....the worst was Sandy my poor puppy...trying to take her outside....

From what you have mentioned your house is pretty new with the hurricane glass...so at least you will be able to see outside....my sister in St Augustine does not and says that is the scary part for her hearing the storm but not knowing what is going on outside

I booked the Delta Vacations deal!

Thanks for everyone who had input. I had decided on Beach Club but when I called again it was not available except for water view and that put the price higher than Grand Floridian. So two nights (as required by package) at GF and then rest of the time with my DVC points. It worked for us since we always fly Delta and would have booked at least 3 of the tickets on miles anyway. (Other 2 would have been companion certificate). The good part of it that I had not anticipated is that it counts as a paid flight so I will get miles on the tickets. Another minor part is that they automatically added frequent flier accounts to D11 and D8. They are always miles or companions so I have never gone to the trouble of getting them accounts.

It is such a good deal that I am now thinking of looking at flights for this summer or for a little weekend trip somewhere without kids.

Congrats-and as they fly more it's a good idea for them to have their own Skymiles numbers. DD has had one since she was 8 months old and I don't know how many flights she's taken using skymiles :) (a lot...).

Also, I'm so glad you could use this promotion-have fun at the GF!

I feel your conflict. My insides are churning (if that makes sense) trying to put on a brave face for dd but being scared of what could happen if we left and what might happen if we don't. No easy answers here -- I wish there were. I'm going to make a final decision by tomorrow morning. The flight we have booked is at around 1:00pm.

That’s true but I sure won’t be looking out my windows lol. I’ll probably be hiding out in our master closet away from any windows and wearing headphones

I know there was a few people that have had family members with various health issues over the past few months? Any updates?

I'm going on the no news ia good news/progresa through things.
My niece is still in the hospital but it sounds like she’s doing much better. I can’t believe she’s already been in there for over a month. I think they’re very hopeful about her though. She took her own breaths recently without a machine and that was a big first step

I probably will make a decision by tomorrow night. Idk if they’ll even know the path of the storm by tomorrow. I’m not booking a hotel though until I have a better idea of the path. Having a flight is definitely a little different since you’ll have to cancel in time. Is your house older?
