Just went to login to my Citi Account to check my balance and this is on the landing page or whatever it's called (before I got logged in). I don't recall having seen it there before.

Gosh if I was over the 95 day mark I'd go apply for a second one right now!

Totally :offtopic: For cooking rice in the instant pot, should it really take over an hour? I never got the pressure to release on its own last night. Can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. And it’s the actual Instant Pot. Any thoughts?

Oh wow, no, that isn't normal! I cook rice for 3 minutes and let it naturally release pressure (NPR) for 10 minutes, then I manually release whatever is left. I've never heard of it not releasing on its own. Did you do the water test and see if it works right?

Hi,
Our oldest will be leaving for college for the first time in a few weeks, and I wanted to help him open his first credit card. I’ve looked at the most common college student cards, but I hate to miss out on any bonuses. He doesn’t have any credit history; any ideas on ancaed he may qualify for? Or should I just open one and put him as an AU? Thanks for any advice!

Both my college-age children easily got approved for the Discover It student card. Very small limit which has slowly increased each year.

The Discover IT has a student version and I recommend starting with that, especially if your dc has no credit history. My dd19 got that card about a week after turning 18yo and it's a fantastic starter card. Chase also has a student Freedom card but the Discover is a better card, with 5% rotating categories and a cash back match for the first year.

Agree with the Discover It card. I also had my kids get Visa cards from their school credit union. Just another early line on their own credit reports. Adding him as an AU is also a good idea. When he is approved for his own card, it will most likely be a low limit. Having an AU card with a higher limit might give him flexibility for paying for more expensive items (ie. text books, flights home etc.).
Good luck with getting him off to school. It’s an exciting and stressful time!

Even if its the same card (second CIP biz?) I thought you had to at least change the way your name is say First Middle Last to First Last? Can I say they are both real estate businesses or should I open one for another business? (PS, I am CASTORAL but got locked out of my account for some reason and don't have access to my old email to fix it).

@SouthFayetteFan sorry to hear about your ticket situation. I’d wait and see if you sister can pick them up Friday night. Then if there is a problem order 1 day tickets. Over a year ago I had called universal about a hypothetical situation very similar to yours and was told that I could send a notarized paperwork stating my sister in laws name to pick up tickets. We ended up not all going but they were willing to let her pick up part of my tickets with a notarized authorization from me stating she was picking up 2 of the 4 tickets.

Hey friends - sorry I hijacked the thread today with my Universal issue, I feel bad! I GREATLY appreciate all of the awesome feedback and advice I received today. I tried to like all of the comments but I can't possibly begin to list and thank everybody who weighed in. I read all of your thoughts and ideas and I appreciate ALL of you!!!

I hate that this adds a potential layer of stress to such a short trip. But like I said earlier, I'm just going to plan to spend another $300 for some one day tickets if necessary and anything better than that is a win. It's not like I don't have the points to spare...

I also really like the notarized paperwork idea. I might just call Universal and get their thoughts on the situation later this week.

I think there’s several of us all just missing each other lol. And with us leaving right before the AP preview, it was bound to happen. We’d originally hoped to stay through that weekend but we need to get back for college classes.
I can’t even remember what we ate at picabu but I was impressed with the food and price. We do a lot of qs meals and that area is so lacking. It was nice to find another option, even if not staying at swolphin.

Not sure if this was mentioned but I think a lot of the quick service and even the character meal at Swan/Dolphin give you a 20% discount if you have AAA.
