Sooo… I opened DHs Chase accounts on 4/14 for the bonus. We just barely made the 20 biz days to get the $15k in savings on 5/13. I was expecting his bonus to post 8/13, the Tuesday after 90 days of having a $15k balance... but it posted two days ago, which is the 2nd Tuesday after 90 days from account opening... Will probably let the $15k sit another two weeks just to be safe.

That’s really encouraging! I’m getting ready to set mine up this afternoon and was hoping the bonus might post a little early.

For the single players out there without a P2 to support you, but are interested in applying for the Hilton Biz (or any other Amex card) AND a support bonus, would you be interested if we set up a thread on DISchurners to pair up and exchange support clicks?

I think it'd be great for any card since we shouldn't self refer from anything really. The only thing for me would be it would have to be ok for one to refer for card x while the reciprocator card y. Not sure it could always be card for card. And probably for carda with higher referral returns like cip or the hilton vs cfu.

@Haley R , this ^ is worth the shot. Hubby calls AmEx Biz cards the stealth cards - no HP and doesn't report so no one knows it exists. Only reason he was willing to open the BBP after he saw how the Hilton Biz went and didn't disrupt his score. Very rare for AmEx to HP on an existing customer.

Offer goes until 8/28 so you could take a couple days to decide. You both still have Hilton cards, right? Just make sure to cross refer if you decide to do it.

I currently have the Hilton Biz and Dh has the Hilton Honors card. I plan to call for a retention when mine hits one year. If I don't get one then I'll be closing it. I would need to refer him to the Hilton Biz. I really am leaning towards doing this because we can always stay at the Hiltons by WDW and our Gold status will be gone in September.

For Amex, you can cross refer to different products, subject to some limitations depending on the referring card.

But yeah, say Single Player 1 wants to get the Hilton Biz, and Single Player 2 wants to get an Amex Gold, if the two have the right cards, they'd be able to pair up and support each other.

That's what private school will get you - uniform costs, books... its all geared to a different audience than public school!

I remember a colleague who had just moved to the area and had decided to live right downtown near our office and put her kid in a private elementary school. She was up in arms about how long her kid's private school Christmas break was - I think they got 3 weeks. She was complaining about trying to find kid care, saying it was crazy that schools around here have such a long break. When I told her that public schools get about a week or so, but private schools give kids longer because they assume their families will want to travel around the holidays, she was really cranky. The long winter break was always bittersweet for me - it was a busy time at work for me, and hard for me to take much more than a week off, but my daughter enjoyed going skiing with her grandparents while I worked .

I am actually fine with the textbook costs since the only textbooks DS has ever seen were the ones in 6th and 7th grade that they were required to keep in class because there was only enough copies for one class of 35 or so students. So then they had lots of paper to track and no resource they could refer to for studying for tests or completing assignments. It was utterly ridiculous.

Also probably the only crazy one here that is still working to meet my goals eventhough they are already met. Buying them is strictly for meeting msr and I still need my sb money for vacation and this month has been awful, should have gotten my 4th 25 gc yesterday and I'll be lucky yo have enough for my discounted one on the first at the rate it's going.

UR transfers to JetBlue at 1:1, in 1,000 points increments, so yes, the math would be the same.

Compare JetBlue's award price with what it would cost you in UR to book through the Chase portal on whatever is your highest redeeming card. Go with whichever costs fewer points.

Still have not received the staples Amex credit. Had both offers ($5 back on $25 and 10k MR back on $40) added to my BBP. Bought one $50 Disney gc. Neither offer posted but both are gone from the card. Is that weird? To have the offers disappear but not credit?

I'm wondering if I'm "affected".... I was notified our names were part of it, we got some months of a monitor service for 2 years.... does that mean I qualify to file a claim for each person in our family that got the notice?

If you use the middle (2nd) link, you will put in some information that will tell you if you were impacted. Once it determine you are impacted, it took all of about 5 minutes to complete the requested information to join in for payment. You select at the end whether you want a check or a gift card for your payment.

We still have that tentative trip LD weekend... because our APs expire then. I'm almost tempted to either cancel that or make it purely LD weekend/no vacation days, and do just a weekend for this AP preview and then skip DHS LD weekend and the opening craziness (unless I can meet @calypso726 lol)... I was already thinking of shortening LD weekend if we are going to do HHN/Uni and just letting those passes go (they expire 9/5). Main difference in cost then is SW points... hmmm. (but DH has earned 65k RRs from work travel and we can fly for under 20k RRS with CP so I'm a little more fast and loose with the RRs)
