The current European heat wave is INSANE

We've been lucky to avoid most of it. We're drawing near the end of a ten-day stay in London and will leave on Saturday when the heat finally hits here. It's been gorgeous for the most part here. We did a short one-night trip to Paris Disneyland last Sunday, and although it was hot, it wasn't the weather they've had later in the week. Phew.

Aside ... It was our first time to Paris Disneyland, and we absolutely loved it. Staying in Castle Club didn't hurt I *highly* recommend if it's in the budget or you want to splurge. The perks were fabulous, including the limitless fast pass and the lounge. We loved the tea, the fireworks viewing, and the breakfast was a highlight. We literally had breakfast with Donald and Minnie for about ten minutes. They sat at our table with us near the end of the breakfast. DD22 is special needs, and that had something to do with it, but it was so low key in there I couldn't believe it.

It will be fun to compare Disneyland Paris with Disneyland Tokyo in a few weeks--that's after a quick trip to Anaheim next week, LOL. We are in the middle of an epic 4 Disney parks summer. By the end we'll have done them all.

Okay! So here's my question: Is it better to use my CIC for the 5% rewards, or the FU, with a 25% Staples offer? I've never actually used the Chase offers before so I'm not sure if that comes back as UR or what? Probably a silly question as the 25% offer seems the obvious choice, but it seemed too simple so I thought I'd double-check.

Not going as deep as everyone else but money in my pocket is always better than points to me.

Some premium MBs are back but still no snack band. I’m wondering if I should give up on that one and just order a different one. I feel like a couple though are new ones that I didn’t see before.

The movers dropped our stuff off this morning. It took them about 3 hours. I emptied the kitchen boxes which took me 2 hours . I’m not sure what we’re gonna do with all of the boxes

I've gotten none of the recent Staples offers on Amex or Chase, or anything good for that matter. I was trying to think of some good reason to get the fee-free VGCs at Staples next week, but with the Best Buy deal dead and no Staples offer, I don't see a reason to.

Do you have CIC and someplace that otherwise doesn't give you any extra bonus points? I buy the fee-free VGC's to pay our electric/cable/internet bill. They are all through our local electric company and code as such so no bonus points. I look at it as my way of getting 5X on that.

Are you talking about the cardboard? If so, check with your local highway department or trash collection. I did when we moved and they said I could use with cardboard dumpster at the DPW for all our boxes. Made it nice otherwise I would still be purging through the weekly recycles pick-up.

1. Received a $70 GC I forgot I was getting. I get asked to do professional surveys all of the time because my specialty is very niche but usually so niche I end up not qualifying once I answer the first few questions haha This time I got through one whoop whoop!

Ugh, this MB process is so frustrating!! Every time I go to order, they have SOME of the MBs we want, but not all of them, and I don't think I can order them piecemeal! They have the ones MIL and BIL want, but not the one FIL wants. They don't have any of the ones DH and I want.

I do have a CIC, but since I'm working on a CIP and Hilton Biz MSR, it doesn't make much sense for me just to use the CIC when I get nothing extra on it than the 5x. It would be a better deal for me to buy a GC at Kroger with 5x on my CF right now, plus 5% back at Dosh and 4x fuel points.

Someone needs a serve card lol. I hope I can get $15,000 with loaded on mine and SOs serve cards for a nice profit of 75,000 URs. But I’m out of state all week. I’ll see how much I can do.

I don't really need the Staples VGC purchases to meet any MSR at the moment, and the only card I have with an office supply bonus is Barclays business Aviator (2x). I hate that card/website and now I think might use it some more

May just throw it on Chase and collect the UR, if only out of spite.

Yes, I just did this tonight. I activated the promo, used one MR and paid $199.99 for $250 in Safeway GCs. Then I printed out the GC and used it to buy $250 Disney GCs. I’ve never had any trouble doing this at my Safeway here in NorCal, but I think it’s YMMV. I always print out out the Safeway GC because they’re not always able to scan it off my phone. Good luck, such a great deal!

@disneybirds I did it successfully until one day the manager saw me, chewed me out & stopped the transaction. I was sitting on a few hundred still so I tried a different day, different time, different cashier- same freaking manager caught me chewed me out again and chewed the cashier as well. If she could have shot lasers out of her eyes I’d be dead lol. Never. Again.

We’re able to bring them to a local recycler. We used to get paid a couple dollars for a suburban full (lol) actually but now it’s just free. Also our city runs a Dump On Us project a few times a year where you can literally bring anything so that might be something to look into as well if that’s in a more convenient location for you than a recycler.

And Disneyland caves... Summer special for AP holders announced to anyone interested. AP holders can get a guest a one day park hopper for $99 through Aug 30. APs that are blocked can get in by paying $99/day and can then access the $99 deal for guests as well.

Do you not have any recycling pickup on your neighborhood? When my son moved and had tons and tons, he called and they said they would pick up all the extras for free, since he had just moved.

DD5 wanted the Olaf with the little snow guys...saw it earlier and I can't order...but there were others I could choose. Frustrating for sure! Can you not do piecemail? I don't want to mess it up if I order one and then next week order another but can't because it only ships once.
