AmEx offers:

Marriott, Spend $200+ get $40 back, expires 9/3
Does not have the "single transaction" language like that Hyatt offer had.

Rover .com, Spend $50+ get $10 back, expires 9/10

I did have the Marriott offer on a SPG card, but if you didn't and want it on one I'd hold off adding it just yet. There's usually been a way to get it on there figured out.

I'm also seeing interesting (new?) Amex Offers for:

Plated - Spend $50+, get $25 back. Expires 7/31/19.

Sun Basket - Spend $70+, get $25 back. Up to 3x. Expires 9/21/19. (worked on e-gift card previously)

Caviar - Spend $150+, get 4,000 MR Points. Expires 8/10/19. (I'm assuming there's a $40 back version of this offer) (work on e-gift card previously)

Holland America Line - Spend $500+, get 15,000 MR Points. Expires 8/4/19. (I'm assuming there's a $150 back version of this offer)

Are the MGM Resorts, Caesars, and Wynn offers new? There's also a Contiki offer I've never seen before.

Oh no!! DH's AF for his Hilton Biz just posted so before cancelling it, I referred him from my Biz Plat to the no-fee Hilton card. We need the Hilton points for Hawaii next year. BUT he got the pop-up! Now I don't know what to do about the Hilton Biz. We don't want it anymore, but also don't want to make it more difficult to make the pop-up go away. Is there anything he can downgrade it to?

I had the Marriott offer on DH's Bonbon Biz and mine. I have about $800 to charge at a Marriott for work in August. I wonder if they'll let me just split payment at the hotel or if I should call in one card.

Oh another thing that ticked me off about the DVC tour. I signed up at the kiosk and SO was hanging back looking at the book. I put my name down and all my information and they just added SO. We get to the van to confirm our name we say my last name and he was like is there another one so we say SOs last name. That’s fine. We go check in when we get there and again they don’t have my last name. I was a little pissed. My last name should have been on there too. especially because I was the one who made the tour reservation. Like why would they only use my SOs last name? If they picked one shouldn’t it have been me because I made the reservation. I just kept telling myself it’s not because he is the man but that’s probably it lol my last name is before his alphabetically and it is shorter and easier to say sooooooooo it’s not that lol

Are you keeping your last name after you're married?

Ok, I just jumped on the upgrade train. Might need to abandon the MSR on the IHG card to get to the 10k in 5 months, but 50k MR points on a card I've already gotten a bonus on is too good to pass up. I was in the market for another amex card because I need about another 60k MR points for an Amex FHR redemption (if they ever post rates for 2020...) So, I'm happy to get it without another pull. My existing biz plat is up in July, so I will try to double dip the airline credit (SW still works, right?) and use the dell credit, then cancel the card.

Plans have changed and I don't know what I would use the IHG points for anyway (and there is a chance we will still get there with spend that can't be put on an amex...)

Thank you very much for the heads up - snagged it on my Brilliant that I'm meeting MSR with by staying at Marriotts this weekend as well as DH's Plat!

I would call in a pre-payment just to be on the safe side. I've done that before (esp when the offer is going to expire before my stay) and said that I have "money in my budget" that needs to be spent before the end of the fiscal year, so could they please charge me now for a future stay. They send a cc authorization form and I can pay what I want up front.

I'm going to split the charge on my stay this weekend - but both DH and I will be present with our cards in hand to do it!

Did you happen to put your ages down? I recall from way back doing a timeshare tour you had to be over a certain age to go but I don't remember if they actually recorded that anywhere or not. But if you did, and IIRC SO is a bit older?, then they just went by whoever is oldest. Drives me nuts with NCL. I make the reservation under my NCL login, so I'm listed as 1st passenger when completing the ressie, pay with my credit card, and am the only one that handles the reservation... all correspondence goes to hubby and he gets moved to P1 billing on the reservation because he's the oldest in the cabin. :sad2:
Just got a email earlier this week from them and I only I find out when hubby goes "oh got an email about the cruise" and then fwds it to me. He doesn't even read them, it's completely wasted. Sigh. (Really ruins a surprise too. )

The only bit of revenge I'd get out of it was before I changed my name, since I schedule all appointments for things people would assume are joint projects, he got a lot of Mr. miztressuz. Apparently we didn't hit big enough mailing lists as we haven't received any junk in that name, but I'll laugh so hard when it happens.

HAL, MGM, and Wynn were out before. If the Caesars offer is for Vegas, that also came out the same time as Wynn. Although for HAL I got the cashback offer so maybe the MR version is new?

That's a good point, I don't think DH will be with me when I check in for this stay, so I better call his card in so there are no issues!

DP- maybe this is already known, but it seems that the charges erased by the $300 Marriott credit still count towards MSR. According to my spreadsheet, I'm still $500 short of my Brilliant MSR, but my calc excludes the annual fee, the $300 I got back on a Marriott stay and a couple of small returns. My Bonbon Brilliant bonus just posted.

Which means I can charge more of this week's Marriott stays to my shiny new Biz Plat (no need to wait for the new card because I upgraded the Biz Green!)

You're welcome @mmmears and @DisneyMandC - Here is a link to the process with more on Ask Sebby's You Tube channel

So is it a guarantee to get that upgrade offer? I ask b/c I still don't have an upgrade offer for my old SPG card (can't keep up with the name of them now). I am trying to decide what to do with DH's hilton biz card. He does paid stays there, so I'm not sure I want to be stuck with the lower earning with the lower card for a year until he can upgrade. Maybe in my case I should have him go straight for the aspire?? Or just keep the biz? It just doesn't have good categories except hilton charges.

Yes I am.

They didn’t take our date of birth. Just asked if we were over 18 lol

Just booked the Hilton Chicago for my upcoming seminar and noticed that I am now Diamond with them (thanks to my match from Marriott)! I am hoping for some perks to come my way! Anyone know if is there is free wine in the executive lounge?

ETA: Is there anyone I should trying to get to match the Hilton status with? I already did the Marriott- to Wyndham - to Caesar. And Marriott- to Choice. If we went back to Vegas though, it would probably be to an mLife resort.

Same dilemma.

You can downgrade the Biz Plat to only the Biz Gold ($295 AF) or Biz Green ($95 AF). :(

I'm not canceling all my cards. The Amex Gold is a keeper. I've already kept my MB Plat, SPG Biz and SPG past a year. I've been trying to get good retention or upgrade offers and weighing the monetary value of a card's benefits to justify keeping them open. I will be canceling some cards, likely the Hilton Biz later this month (I just don't put that much spend on it) and the Biz Plat next month (especially if I upgrade the Biz Green to a Biz Plat). I plan to keep my SPG Lux and BGR (at least another year). I'm hedging that Amex values spend over closures.
That’s what hate about Amex there is no clear cut formula as to what makes them happy. I’d there was I’d gladly follow it!
My original thought was
1. Get a biz plat now
2. Upgrade my BGR to another biz plat. I’d do this to make Amex happy instead of canceling but with the SUB and airline credits I’d come out a bit ahead
3. Cancel biz green when AF is due sometime is September.
4. Hit up Amex for Aspire in August, Schwab plat in September - the August card won’t post until October, right?

Currently I don’t think I’m going to for the biz plat now though. The offer is 50k for fist 10k (no biggie)🍦☺️, but another 10K on top of that to get another 25k. I think I’m better off waiting for a better biz plat offer and go for later with the hope the upgrade over doesn’t disappear

I posted a couple days ago how DH's CSR is and it is really weird too. It was upgraded from a CSP. The AF posting date and the travel credit date make no sense to me at all.
I don't recall that - I'm interested in the DP though... Can you share this info:
1) Original approval date of CSP
2) Date you did the upgrade
3) Date that the AF is charged now
4) Date that the travel credit resets

That would be interesting to see!

@Lain I just checked and I also have the offer to upgrade my Biz Green to a Biz Plat. I wasn't planning on keeping either my Biz Green or current Biz Plat due to the AFs, but I also don't want to make Amex mad again. Now I'm thinking: upgrade Biz Green to Biz Plat and then cancel existing Biz Plat next month. Or is there something I can downgrade my Biz Plat to?

I think you can only downgrade the plat to a biz green - $95 af for a whole lotta nothing
