Pretty sure that's what it is from reading the refresh thread. If you read through that thread there's nothing that can't be figured out without paying that he's charging for. I don't know that I had even read to grab the fp you want as soon as you see it and then modify for the time that works but I did it several times in Nov. If you know and understand how the fp system works with the refresh it's not hard to figure out how to do it. It's not a state secret and I think it's a bit ridic he's charging people for something like that. It's not like you're gaming the system or anything, just using it to it's full potential. It's also why people were freaking out a couple months back when the fp system "glitched" and was showing available and then you'd click on it and it was gone.

Though I can also see how those that don't read a ton on the Dis or any forum would benefit from it which is why he monetized it.
Thanks for saying this - Kenny is such a tool and it’s a shame he rips people off for information that is already out there and available (ie discussed on the DIS).

I’ll just leave this link here much the chagrin of a fake pirate. :rolleyes1

Maybe I’m just missing the boat though on my own internet fame. Anybody here want to pay to spend time with me at a Disney park? I’ll wear a helmet!

Churning weekend
Became a World of Hyatt member; first due to work trip to Denver in August where I'll need to stay at a Hyatt Regency. Second was thinking of hotel in Seattle on points. which became a reality.
Moved 40K URs to my Hyatt account. It was instantaneous. Booked Hyatt at Olive 8 in Seattle for 2 nights. I actually was going to book Hyatt Place but while there was availability yesterday, today there is only a king bed room available. I need 2 beds. It took me a long time to decide to move the points. I get very nervous when it is final. Booking with URs I could always cancel and get a refund. I can still cancel but my points can't come back to my URs. Guess it is time to look at a Hyatt card to increase the points.

Can get the Seattle City Pass with UR points. That takes care of several items - Space Needle, Aquarium, MoPOP. Not sure we'll do all but there are good options. The whale watching trip I want isn't on Chase. I'll just use the PNC bank bonus to pay for that. This won't be a 100% free trip as I have to pay for Paradise Inn rooms and the house rental in Port Angeles but it will be severely discounted.

Already looking at next trips
Trip 1: Work trip in Denver in August. I'll tack on a few days to make it a full week off. Looking at Breckenridge. We drove through there last year and stopped for dinner. I just thought it looked so quaint and fun. I think it would be fun to stay a few days just looking at the mountains, hiking, relaxing. The other place I wanted to see in Colorado is the Colorado National Monument. But that is further than I really wan to drive this time. There are plenty of places in Breckenridge on Chase so could do this on points

Trip 2: Thinking of taking DS to Universal this fall. Will have to be over his college fall break in October so we are limited on which days. Seeing availability in both Chase and AA so I might just use my miles for hotels (RPR and SF) and then URs for tickets. Already booked SW speculatively since I can always cancel and get back my points. Are the cancellation rules for using AA miles on the Reddit thread? Or can someone let me know what they are?

I'll have to keep the OAK Escape Lounge in mind. Still mulling taking DH to DL Star Wars Land for his birthday, just the 2 of us. Not sure yet if I can make it work.

Change of topic question, lol - do we know yet what access to Star Wars Land will be like after June 23? I haven't really been following the news. Will there be FP?

We’re also looking at making a quick trip down to Disneyland to experience SWGE before my kiddo’s birthday trip that we’ve already got planned for August, and before no reservations are required after 6/23.

I think someone in the SWGE megathread over at the DLR forum put it best. All reports seem to say the numbers of people let into SWGE with reservations are quite reasonable, and the parks outside of SWGE are seeing very low crowds. The thinking is APs except for the most expensive Signature and Signature Plus APs are blocked out for most of this summer, and all of June is peak pricing for single day tickets. But probably more importantly, most people who are planning to go to Disneyland this summer probably won’t want to go unless they can also visit SWGE. But until 6/24, you need a reservation and all free reservations are long gone, or you can book a stay at a Disney hotel which is an expensive barrier for a lot of people. So those people will just wait a month. I’m thinking after 6/23, all bets are off. The parks will be flooded with people who have been dying to experience SWGE but weren’t able to get a reservation or willing to pay to stay at a Disney hotel for a reservation, and SWGE will be packed once Disney stops capacity controlling the new land with their reservation system.

I think I read on the Disneyland site that the Millennium Falcon attraction won’t be offered on FP or MaxPass initially. It’s going to be crazy.

Edit: June 23/24, not July.

Is there a Dis thread that would help with this? We haven't been to WDW since fp+ started, and although I've done quite a bit of reading, it's all pretty overwhelming.

There's a couple of sticky threads on TPAS that will give you all the info you need for fp and refreshing/modifying etc. The first page should be most of what you need and then can ask questions if needed. Hiro and one of the dad's (Can't remember which at the moment but has dad in his sn) are great about answering questions there too.

Thank you! Now I know what I need to be googling because I couldn't figure it out what it was but knew it had to be out there somewhere. I had just started looking on his page to see what he says to upsell it because I'm not dropping 10 bucks without knowing a bit of what I'm getting aside from characters.

My fp day is Saturday and I'm still not sure what I'm doing aside from SDD. Between MK after hours and the Dis Pandora party a lot of my must do's will be taken care of without fp. And we're doing Soarin as a group before our solo traveler's Garden Grill breakfast which ended up as all ladies which seems odd but I'm looking forward to meeting new people and a good breakfast.

So when you guys are trying to get additional fp, do you always start by searching for just one and then modify later?

@SouthFayetteFan waited 6 days on his P2’s CIP approval. I waited 4.5 days on my CIP2. As long as it’s 30 days or 2 weeks, there’s hope!

Next time, if you’re sure you’re going to use the offer, see if you can buy a GC to lock in the Amex Offer’s value/discount. I bought a eGC to RL and the AO triggered just fine.
Those were the longest 6 days of my life....

YES...I’ve lived a pathetic life :P

You just be talking about the FP famous @JETSDAD - unfortunately I’ve heard it costs $500 to spend time with him - way more than Kenny. I’ll spend time with you for $150 and a referral click though. I’m the real bargain!!

(Sorry @JETSDAD to rope you in to my terrible joke) 🤣

Wait, what?

I’ve heard of Kenny the Pirate from planning our WDW trip a few years ago. I get that he offers character locator and other services, and that he’s somewhat of a celebrity out that way. But am I reading it right that he’s charging people for the privilege of hanging out with him and using those proceeds to buy his own tickets to these special events?

But if the referral click is one I could give to P2, maybe your cost IS higher :rotfl:

For some reason I'm thinking I even read a report of his last year about doing this with someone when we were deciding on mnsshp...

P2 will never love you the way that I will!

Oh you are absolutely reading this right... 😬

I'll gladly get roped into this forum and terrible jokes....for $500.

And yes, FP drops exist and with a bit of searching you can find info on some of them on TPAS....even a few of the times and some hints on a locked thread. Free info right there unless you feel like donating to the cause.

I wonder how many people here reading this think you were just making some ridiculous joke vs actually meaning purchasing bananas and crickets :rotfl2:

Dude used to chase the crickets that would get into the house in NC, you'd hear him bouncing after them, so cute. My mom and I have joked about getting him one but then if it actually gets lose in the house because he or we don't catch it...not sure we can call the bug people out for a cricket we bring into the house.

Thank you!

So when you guys are trying to get additional fp, do you always start by searching for just one and then modify later?

Yes but the key here is to grab the fp for the ride you want and then modify the time. This is especially helpful for rides that are further down the alphabet because it keeps them on top as the first option.

Aw nuts I haven't found it all. It's super hard when fp drop time brings up everything with fp and rope drops discussed. I found one person asking and another with older times but nothing locked and nothing that tells me how often they get updated. Back to searching, I wonder if it works like google after the upgrade and I can use quotes.

I just search for the 4 of us (and I will do “tap, grab, modify” although I CRINGE to type the phrase, LOL!). I’m probably a poor person to dish out advice on this though because our touring strategy doesn’t require a ton of FPs. I was actually starting to dislike the time I spent on my phone during our trips so I might pickup 1 or 2 add’l FP’s on some days but mostly we just enjoy anytime attractions in the afternoons. I might sound crazy, but I’d prefer to watch CoP or Tiki Room vs ride BTMRR a 3rd time... I just like to experience everything when we’re at Disney.

You can narrow it down by only looking for threads started by me.

Woah - you appear on this thread out of thin air and now you’re recommending we search for you... Did that night with @JETSDAD just go up to $600???

Seriously though, thanks for gracing our nice little community with some FP wisdom. As you can tell, we have no issue flying off topic here HAHA!

It is much easier to do solo or even with two of us and we're able to get the rides we want without waiting and still enjoy CoP and the tiki room.

And if WDW BTMR was as good as the one in Paris you'd want to ride it more than 3 times :)
