I tried to pull a free copy of DHs TU report, because I know we'd be well outside the one year report for a free on. I wanted to see if the info was correct on there for this collection, because it sounds like that could have been the easiest route to figure this out. And after I put in his info, just address/ssn/name, it tells me it can't verify his info

No, we actually haven't flown at all since I got any sort of lounge access. The first time I'll get to use this is our next trip. Flying Icelandair out of SFO. We'll have to brave security twice. DH's Global Entry still hasn't been conditionally approved. Even if it is before our trip, I don't know if we can get an appointment, or if he'll even want to make the trek (I'd like to go to Marukame Udon if we're on that side of the bay though!). AND I don't know if all 4 of us can get into the Centurion on my plat and biz plat (too bad one of the cards isn't in DH's name). Guess we'll just try and if not we'll go to Yankee Pier. DH has the Hilton Biz, so we can get 2 credits on my PP and then 2 on his (before the restaurant benefit goes away).

I'll have to keep the OAK Escape Lounge in mind. Still mulling taking DH to DL Star Wars Land for his birthday, just the 2 of us. Not sure yet if I can make it work.

Change of topic question, lol - do we know yet what access to Star Wars Land will be like after June 23? I haven't really been following the news. Will there be FP?

DD and her friends really, really enjoyed the Timberline at DEN yesterday. It turned out that one of her friends also has a PP card, so they had roughly $100 to spend for the 4 of them. Apparently $112 goes a long way - 3 bowls of chili, 4 fancy burgers (truffle cheeseburger and others) with sweet potato fries, 3 beers, and a plate of rocky mountain oysters (they split one four ways and didn't have any more ) and they were only over by 30 cents (plus they tipped of course). Thanks to this group they had a great meal - none of them knew this was even an option, so thanks again!

There are also stories of them "almost" getting into the United lounge after their lunch. Her friend's DH has status there and they got in with the mobile app and it worked until they were asked for boarding passes and could see his first name was different. So maybe being a jr. with the same name is a good idea.

They stayed at a Sheraton in Denver and Springhill Suites in Moab - both on this guy's brother's name. He has status from a job he's about to start. She said they got 1/2 off and big upgrades because of his status. (kids LOL). They also stayed at someone's relative's home in Avon (near Vail) that gave them lounge access at the Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek. I Zillowed that

She said that outside of her flight, she spend $300 total and that includes food, gas, bike rentals, and all activities.

Not totally churning, but these kids had a great time and spent very little. And I think 2 of them are going to end up doing some travel hacking in the future.

Pretty sure that's what it is from reading the refresh thread. If you read through that thread there's nothing that can't be figured out without paying that he's charging for. I don't know that I had even read to grab the fp you want as soon as you see it and then modify for the time that works but I did it several times in Nov. If you know and understand how the fp system works with the refresh it's not hard to figure out how to do it. It's not a state secret and I think it's a bit ridic he's charging people for something like that. It's not like you're gaming the system or anything, just using it to it's full potential. It's also why people were freaking out a couple months back when the fp system "glitched" and was showing available and then you'd click on it and it was gone.

Though I can also see how those that don't read a ton on the Dis or any forum would benefit from it which is why he monetized it.

eta: I'm not sure why he is so uptight about that method though, because plenty of people know about it from sources other than him. The other tip I never knew existed til May.

Thats not it...that is old news. This was new to me.

ETA: I was with ya though...on the "why do people pay for that and why does he act like it is a big secret" and thought it was crazy. Then I saw there is more info on same day FP that I had never heard before and I was intrigued so I spent the $10 and I did use it and it worked.

I did this to meet the PNC debit requirement to get their bonus recently. I don't have any accounts where debit transactions are required so won't impact me until I have another bank bonus that requires debit transactions.

05/19 Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business - I thought I was denied but received a letter asking me to send in ID info. Has anyone received the card after sending in the info?

I received an approval email on Tuesday, about a week after sending in my info. The card arrived yesterday!

I really wanted to spend my downtime at work today fine-tuning the trip and starting to plan my packing... I want to put all of the cruise stuff in a carry on suitcase, plus an empty backpack, and pack just the Disney days stuff in the other backpack... and we've been having lots of issues at work, so I'm sure we will work in two weekends, which will be the weekend before we leave, and someone is off so that means 3am-3pm for the Sat-Mon with us leaving late Wed night, so I want to list everything out for each bag.

But nooooo. I spent it reading all about freakin' collections on your credit report, and the scummy tricks they may pull, and what we should do about this, and posting in some credit forums... and I had a little bit where I started to think it was MY fault, because yesterday I put in DHs old college address in cardmatch just to see if that changed the offers (nope for us) and he didn't have any credit cards or car loans at that address. His student loans could have been, and he had utility bills in his name, and cell phone bill. So really I was blaming myself for no reason and then I saw that it was reported on 4/30/19 but it is just a giant coincidence I see it the day after trying to pull the Plat offer with that address and had me worried.

I'm thinking it is more along the lines of a trick that collections agencies may use that I'm reading about, where they wait for your credit score to go way up and then hit you with it because you're more likely to pay, or they're hoping now you want see it until you are trying to get a loan and you just pay it to make it go away. Ughhhh

Is there a Dis thread that would help with this? We haven't been to WDW since fp+ started, and although I've done quite a bit of reading, it's all pretty overwhelming.

The Chase reps must all be on vacation 57 hours later and the status line is still giving the 30 day message on DH’s CIP app.

Looks like AmEx will be clawing back by Plat offer MRs for RL. I thought I would go ahead and order DS his uniform pants and they are too short! I am now waiting until school starts . I think there are a bunch of us with 12 year olds but boy is he growing like a weed. I predict when school starts in Aug we will be the same height.

Basically what @afan said - it’s just a component of refreshing for additional FPs. Some find it’s easier to pick up any FP at all for that attraction and then modify until you find the time you want (typically as close to “now” as possible).
