I'm now the proud owner of 350.00 dollars of annual fees due in July. I know the Gold card is a charge card, but does it count towards the 5/24 rule?

Congratulations! And yes, when the Gold card reports to your CR it'll count towards 5/24. You probably have a little time, AmEx typically takes about 2 months to report a new card.

I think you discussed this, but just a mention that with AmEx's lifetime language in the sign up bonus offers doing an upgrade offer locks you out of getting the sign up offer later for that card (unless you find a special offer that doesn't include that language, which happens occasionally). But with your BCP sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to appease the AmEx RAT to get the better cards later, and getting something is better than nothing, especially when it's the same as the sign up bonus anyway. Hopefully you are now on the road to many more ! :)

DP on the Visitors Toll Pass that is being tested at MCO 5/1-7/31....
-Registered for it on the website before we left
-picked the tag up at a small booth on level 1 at MCO by the car rentals
-hung the tag on the rearview mirror...the car and license plate was automatically registered when we left the parking garage

So far very easy and I will update if there are any issues when we return it on Sunday

Yes, the 3 months starts upon approval.

As @miztressuz put it so well, that CIP will not add to your */24 count. You’re still 3/24 with a card dropping off soon.

And (3) the Citi AA biz card is a Mastercard, which means you can use it on Plastiq to pay your mortgage if you’re willing to accept a relatively small 2.5% fee as a way of quickly hitting another card’s MSR. The CIP is a Visa, and you can’t use Visas to pay your mortgage via Plastiq. That’s thousands of dollars in spend every month that can’t go on the CIP, but could go towards a MSR on a Mastercard like the Citi AA biz card.

That's right- thank you to you and @miztressuz for reminding me that the business card doesn't count.

Did not know that about the Citi AA business card being a mastercard instead of a visa... not that I would normally cared but I suppose if I want to take advantage of the Plastiq thing for the mortgage, that is very important indeed! One more thing to consider!!

Thank you!

I've read here that Citi is known for taking a long time getting the cc out to you.
QUESTION: If I apply today for the AAdvantage Business card what are the chances I will have the card in hand by the 28th of June?
(I have a large bill due then)

I hadn't heard of this. Will be interested in your update. So is it just supposed to be like you already had a toll pass... just pay tolls and no extra fees like a rental company would charge?

One nice thing about Amex is they did not do a hard inquiry when I opened up the Delta card. I know they don’t do it with upgrades and I’m pretty sure they didn’t with the Gold Card since I was pre approved. Maybe upgrading the the blue card unlocked the 50k Gold card bonus. Who knows? It not like there’s actual people making these decisions..

I booked two nights at Royal Pacific Resort for 12/31-1/2. Hope the kids don't get used to staying at nice hotels! Plane tickets courtesy of SW. Will probably purchase UO tickets through UR.
Why did Uni hotels never cross my mind for this.. lol

ETA: Also, my DH is totally spoiled now between Swolphin and RPR, he is ruined.

I think you'll have no problem here. While if feels like forever to get the card from Citi the reality is its usually only like 10 business days. It just seems like forever because most of us are itching to put spend on it.

Question about expediting CIP... if approved, do I need to call or SM to get expedited card?
Question #2- I see cash out UR on here a lot, how exactly does one do that?

Go to Ultimate Rewards->redeem for cash back is at the top of (my) screen->amount (eg 14000=$140, enter the amount you want as cash back)->cash back as a statement credit or to a bank

Actually pretty easy!

Another point in the hard-side vs. soft sided luggage debate: the hardside ones tend to split down the middle, giving you two small sides to pack, whereas the soft side usually gives you one large storage area. This can be a pro or a con depending on how you like to pack.

Another thought - our carry-ons are expandable and this has proved very helpful as we travel from one place to another after our flight (we can't expand them and carry them on, but once on the ground it makes moving so much easier).

Yes, this is something I think about a ton since we prefer to travel carry-on only (despite getting free check ins when we fly). I keep looking at a Tumi hard side expandable carry-on just because I think it's pretty, but I'm not sure that I can pack as efficiently with 2 half sides compared to the one large compartment. And since I really don't need it I can't come even close to justifying this kind of spend.
It's been so long since I packed in a one-sided suitcase that I don't know if I could anymore  I'm so used to the size of the packing cubes and where they go in the suitcase(s) we use!

I've seen several expandable carry-on that look like possibilities :)

So much fun to look at all these choices

I have asked via SM......
Haven’t cashed out any URs so I’ll let those that have answer
I'm on the Chase site (I already have an account from an old personal card) and for the life of me, I cannot find where the secure message area is. Can you possibly point me in the right direction? Any time I look under the "contact us" area it's all phone numbers. I really, really hate making phone calls!

Thanks so much!! Hope I can pull this off. Flying to Calif. end of Oct and would like to have American Airlines as an option and the points to use as Southwest flights are not great for our dates (times, layovers).
