Dad liked Joe from Lotus Flooring. His estimate was less than Empire. We will be requesting our deposit back from Empire. Meantime, I did talk with M, the kind head maintenance man here, he is going to try to arrange a time this week with my Dad to come out. So nice! I did have a very good therapy session this morning. One of my two regular therapists, A, who is just wonderful, said how much better I do with proper sleep. Amen to that and prayers I get to enjoy more of it. More updates to come. Does it count that I brought up the tree from the cellar along with 3 totes of decorations? Last year I bought all new clear totes and put everything Christmas in them. It was so much easier to just grab the ones I wanted instead of digging through the old totes. I had put labels on them but they came off over the years.
I might put the tree up on Thanksgiving Day. I have nothing else to do, so I might as well. The lights are up outside, all I have to do is set the timer and they will start being lit on Dec 1.
it's dumping down rain and I got soaked trying to feed the outside cats somewhere that they could be dry to eat it. They all ended up under the car, lol

Another addendum post:

Cream of tartar is essential to me in making meringue for a pie. I needed a new supply. I searched all over Giant today and couldn't find it. Just ordered it on Amazon.

I put up my outdoor lights today, just because it was a good weather day for it, but will probably hold off on the inside stuff until after Thursday. - DS is big on Thanksgiving not getting squashed out.

I put up my outdoor lights today, just because it was a good weather day for it, but will probably hold off on the inside stuff until after Thursday. - DS is big on Thanksgiving not getting squashed out.

I'm glad I put mine up 2 weeks ago. It's either been windy, rainy, or cold since then.

Outdoor Christmas lights are always so festive to see. Thank you kind friends for brightening up the season for passerby and of course you and your families, you know that

Dad and I got this little Christmas tree from Walmart. It's an easy yet merry way we are able to have an indoor portable tree this year. Dad, by God's grace, has said Evergreen is still growing healthy and green outside.

Wow, I bought some in Walmart last week.

Somebody at Giant suggested Walmart. At that point Amazon was easier. I'd previously been to Aldi and Safeway.

Good morning. it is 53 now with temps heading towards 60 today. It will be warm today and in the 50s tomorrow before it gets cold again on Friday. I am going to do some baking today, the cheesecake bars and blueberry pie. Tomorrow will be the chocolate pie, blondies and brownies. Since we are gathering on Friday I am able to do the baking over 2 days. My little tree is growing on me. It's not such a bad little tree. I sent a picture to Jeff and he agrees. I will probably decorate over the weekend. I will put up the mantel decorations and holiday towels too.

I hope everyone has fun cooking and everything is delicious.

Off to work. Glad it is a short week. Have a nice day.

My tree is probably not going up until I return from Florida. Some days there will be no one here between 9 and 5 and I can see Phoebe climbing and nesting in it if no one is around to tell her no. It's okay with me if DD wants to do it but it's doubtful she will. She likes for me to start that kind of thing but will join in and help out. I'd never get that big box out of the basement on my own.

It's saying 70 here today and it's already 55. I need to blow some leaves around and maybe bag them. The big tree next door still has lots but with some rain dribbling this week, they are getting matted both on the deck and driveway. Looks like I'll have to do some raking also.

I'm cooking my pies tomorrow morning. We are not eating at Son's until late afternoon. If I do them this time tomorrow they will be cooled and still fresh. Not sure what DD's plan is.

Anyway, can't wait for Disney. Mostly because I'm eating everything I see and I'll have an easier time managing there plus lots of walking.

DD has an extra work from home day today. I like it when she's here and so does she. The house is quiet either way.

Good morning. 47 now going to 61. Foggy now, calling for a slight chance of showers this morning (it had better not) and then sun. Dave has to come today and finish the steps. They need to be done, and then dry so he can take the framing off. I can't have the mail carrier or Fed Ex, UPS etc walking all the way up the driveway to get to the front door when there are steps leading from the street to the front walk.

Summer bought a car while she was in Ohio. 2016 Ford Escape. But I think there's too many miles (140K) for the amount she paid. She's driving it home today, her husband is driving her truck home, the issue I have is that her husband has no license. It was permanently revoked years ago). If he gets stopped for any reason, the outcome isn't going to be good.



Her new car. It looks nice, I hope she has good luck with it. I checked for recalls and there have been 7, I hope they were all taken care of, some could be serioud.

I made my stuffing and my blueberry cream cheese pie last night. I made enough mashed potatoes for the stuffing and set some aside so I can have mashed potatoes with dinner. I'm going to do the sauted brussels ssprouts with bacon today, then just reheat all of the sides tomorrow. I will only have to cook my turkey. Less time spent in the kitchen, and less dishes to do then also, lol

I plan on putting my tree up tomorrow before I have dinner.

Watched DWTS finale last night, I was happy for the winner, it's who I voted for all season.
