I'm on the Chase site (I already have an account from an old personal card) and for the life of me, I cannot find where the secure message area is. Can you possibly point me in the right direction? Any time I look under the "contact us" area it's all phone numbers. I really, really hate making phone calls!

When you are on the main page...click on the 3 lines on the top left corner ...it should list secure message under connect with chase

Are you trying to expedite your CIP?

If so, it's likely you won't be able to do it via SM yet. Your account is a personal account because your old CF is a personal card. Your new CIP won't have been added to your personal account, and you can't send an SM from your CIP yet. When you receive your CIP, you'll need to set up a Chase for Business account. Many of us already have business accounts set up, and when we're approved for a new Chase biz card it often gets automatically added to the business account. Then, we can go into our newly added card account and send an SM requesting the new card be expedited from there.

You'll need to call.

You can call the automated status line at 1-800-432-3117, #, 3, 1, SSN, and after the approval message you can press 0 to speak with a customer service rep and ask them to expedite your card.

Or you can call the CIP customer service line at 1-800-945-2028 to ask if they'll expedite your new card, and they should send it to you within about 2 days.

FWIW, the customer service rep will not ask you any awkward questions about your application or business.

Good luck!

I keep telling myself that TODAY is the day I'm going to fine tune the cruise trip details... double check things, book the last things, fine tune budget. Instead, I keep getting distracted. Last night after work DH picked me up and we went back to his office so he could work on stuff and I had my laptop and the wifi password. Instead his boss came back with his wife and daughter because they clean the office once a week, and they bring their dogs... no cruise things were done... Not sure how that happened :confused3

I would have your DH generate a support link from his CIP and apply for CIP #2. I think you can get the annual fee refunded within 30 days after it's charged. So the support bonus should post by then. Move all the URs out to the new CIP. Then you can cancel the card or product change to the CIU or CIC if you have a use for them.

I don't think there's any issue with the booked stays. They are just paid for reservations.

Alternatively, if your Ulta card didn't count towards 5/24, then you can apply for the CIP using your DH's support link. In general, cross support is safer than self support. Though I don't think we've heard of anyone having problems with it.

I don't know much about store cards other than what I've read here - which is that if it can only be used at the specific store then it probably doesn't count toward 5/24.

* (I am trying hard to use the word support instead of the R word.)
ok. That is what I was thinking I was reading people where doing. I just wasn't 100 % sure. I will have him apply and hopefully he gets approved.

My ultra card is a reg store card. They do have a visa CC but I applied for just the store card.

Question about expediting CIP... if approved, do I need to call or SM to get expedited card?
Question #2- I see cash out UR on here a lot, how exactly does one do that?
In the UR portal there's an option for "cash back" in the menus. Select that, tell it how much cash you want, then pick statement credit or deposit into bank account.

Hello from Versailles! DF & I are at the Waldorf Trianon Palace and it's been amazing. We did a bike ride on the palace grounds, picnic in the gardens, various palace tours, a guided food & wine tour around the city, and last night we had dinner at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant, which was great.

We booked a total of 6 nights in the following configuration:

Night 1, Wednesday 5/22: King Pavilion Room with Garden View, 125K HHonors points (cash rate $416)

Night 2, Thursday 5/23: King Pavilion Room with Garden View, 125K HHonors points (cash rate $416)

Night 3, Friday 5/24: King Pavilion Room, FREE - Amex Hilton Aspire Weekend Night Certificate #1 (cash rate $571)

Night 4, Saturday 5/25: King Pavilion Room, FREE - Amex Hilton Aspire Weekend Night Certificate #2 (cash rate $571)

Night 5, Sunday, 5/26: King Pavilion Room, FREE - Amex Hilton Biz Weekend Night Certificate (cash rate $531)

Night 6, Monday, 5/27: King Terrasse Suite, 495K HHonors points (cash rate $2,300)

You can see we spent a total of 745,000 points on this trip.

- 225K in HHonors account to start
- 150K bonus from Hilton Aspire
- 125K bonus from Hilton Biz
- 393K points from all required spending

= 893K points, so we have 148K left just from this particular run

I should mention that I'm not a big Hilton cheerleader. I'm a Hyatt person & my ranking of major hotel chains is Hyatt > Hilton > IHG > Bonbon. HOWEVER...

The Aspire made it almost too easy to earn the needed points... we went away one weekend, spent $450 on room/meals/incidentals & came back with 16.3K points (9K from Hilton, 6.3K from Amex, and a 1K bonus). That said, now that we're done earning the points we need, this card is not going to be in heavy rotation. It's not really worth using unless you're chasing a bonus (or buying a house with plenty of expenses to spread around on various CCs). But, it will stay in my "collection" because I think we can make the free night & resort credit work to more than cancel out the AF. That's saying something considering the AF on this card is $450, whereas the Bloobloo card has an AF that's about 25% of that and it's probably getting the axe.

The Monday night 495K rate sounds like a lot of points but the Fêtes Galantes (fancy dress event) is tonight & we booked the day it was announced, making it a fabulous rate for that particular room. (I am currently getting my hair done - the stylist & I have exhausted our ability to communicate with each other, thus I am writing about churning on my phone.) You cannot see the redemption rate online so you're at the mercy of the phone agent. We did spend some time wondering if that was a "mistake" rate of sorts (or at least booked before the system updated for the special event), and if we were going to wake up & find that booking knocked out, but it held... & when I wanted to add Tuesday night in a "regular" room, they quoted me some ridiculous rate around 525K that I posted about here. No thanks.

We decided to gamble that they would leave us in the same room for the first five nights even though the certificate did not entitle us to the same view category. As HHonors Diamond (thanks to Aspire!) I am eligible for a complimentary upgrade & we thought it would be easy enough to not take it on the GV room, but to request it on the non-GV room, thus making it so we didn't have to move. If we had to move, we would have been okay with that, but it was worth a try.

They didn't give us the upgrade we requested.

They just put us in the suite all week.

& we are beside ourselves, feeling as though we have our own private palace. We never want to say "au revoir" now!

LOOK AT THIS VIEW!

I will post more pics in the hotel review thread at some point.

As an aside, there are many people who seem to come here to take pictures with rented luxury cars & then drive away. Not sure what is going on there. It made us laugh because you just know some of those pictures are going up on Instagram like “it’s so hard to be this rich; stay tuned for my next adventure where I try to humble & find myself by begpacking through Southeast Asia #blessed” One clown was even holding up the keys & a piece of paper like he just bought the car. Dude, we watched you reposition that car for 10 minutes so the rental tag wouldn’t be in the picture. Never believe what you see on social media!!!

@MKTokyo - I noticed you changed your avatar! Is that you and DF at the Fêtes Galantes?

I am a long time lurker here. I am so impressed by you guys and what you do. I just read a little and let it wash over me, a little is retained, much is forgotten.

I've dipped my toe in the waters (I'm sure in the wrong order, should be pinky toe to big toe. I did an Amex first, doh) and I was wondering about my next step.

DH and I are both 2/5 and we have some tuition coming up in August. We're paying $6K on one kid and $1.5K on another. There is a 2.35% convenience fee for the payments. But a sign up bonus would make that worth the while, right?

I was thinking a Chase card with UR points to be the most effective. I'm trying to get to England for our 25th anniversary next year and I figure the more flexible points would be best. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks for all you all do!!

Last two months I haven’t even used my credit for the Amex rose gold. It is just a pain. Am I going to have to go to the shun corner?!?

Sometimes it is not that easy. I now try to use mine near the first part of each month. That didn't happen in May.

I don't use it for gift cards now. I buy an appetizer and sometimes that's my lunch. And, this past weekend we combined it with a Maggianos discount on a carryout meal.

1. Buy Maggianos gift card for 10% off using Lowes or other discount. I get this 10% on my BOA card every month also.
2. Order Maggianos carryout family meal: $50 ($10 discount from email all the time) using gift card and Rose Gold for taxes and possible extras.
3. Order appetizer from CF. Pick up in curbside pickup and if ordered online, pay with Rose Gold.
4. Drive around the corner and pick up Maggianos order.

Do this when family descends on you without warning or maybe every 3 months. There is enough for 4 adults and 2 kids in the $50 family meal for our family and usually leftovers. We 'upgrade' the salad to the one with tomato and avocado for $2 extra, and sometimes will get an extra dessert - not cheesecake.

We are outside the delivery area for these restaurants so have to pickup. Youngest DD will always pickup if I say 'are you cooking tonight?'.

I haven't missed a credit yet as I also go for dr's appt near the CF and can do a small purchase fairly easily. I've had the card since November. Sometimes it's an app and it may also be cheesecake. If I find I don't want it from CF there is always grub hub pickup. But we seem to do a lot of take out on the weekends. Most restaurants are not an experience for me and I prefer their food in a bag at my own dining room table. For younger folks I think the social aspect is more important.

found the answer on pointsguy

btw- you guys are awesome! I totally want to do more of this churning, so once I clear some very time consuming things off my agenda (renovating 2 rental properties- ugh!) I will be on here reading and LEARNING!!

Good find! I think at some point I read a blog post on using skymiles for Disney hotels but didn’t really research.

Delta and the $50 gift cards is rough. Earlier this month I ended up booking DH a last minute flight and wanted to use 6 $50 gift cards. They told me repeatedly it could not be done even though I kept saying it said you could on the site. Supervisor said it would be an “IT miracle” to get it to work. We eventually figured out a way (pretty much because I insisted). So gift cards for packages may work but be prepared to go to battle on it.

I had your original quote but am only catching up to the board tonight. Unless it has changed I don’t think you can get a bonus on the Blue if you are holding other Delta cards. It is a decent one to product change too. And you should get the referral bonus.

I figured this would be the case. I don't want to get a bunch for Delta GCs only for it to not work. The flight is a lot more expensive with a stop than the non-stop one I am thinking of booking, but since I almost already paid for it with my AF, I keep going back to it. Save some out-of-pocket costs vs a lessor value and a stop for a flight????

Ok I have some AMex questions.... maybe some experts can help me out here...I currently hold Hh,Hh Biz,Bonvoy Biz myself, I'm AU on P2's Hh Ascend & Bonvoy Biz (o_O) nd I hold a Biz Green. So is this counted as me having 5,or 3 Amex cc's? (since the biz green is a charge card)
....ANNNND..... I have an upgrade offer on my Hh basic- for Aspire,150k/4k spend. Is this worth thinking about,or will upgrading this affect my 5/24 with Chase? (more important)
Do all the offers with this card still work($250 credit/etc)? If I did took this, I just don't want to mess with my 5/24- and I guess I wouldn't be eligible for a new card bonus later on the aspire, right? (isn't it a moot point if the bonus is the same?)
...AANNNNND..... p2 has this same offer on his Ascend card(I'm AU on this one!) so what are any thoughts on him taking the offer? same questions as for myself, except would that AU card affect my chances on other apps/cards if he upgrades?
Thank you!
(I'm currently after more UR, but any extra Hh is also welcome if I don't take a 5/24 hit)

Wow! That looks and sounds amazing! I can’t wait to read your hotel review. This is exactly why I am such a cheerleader for the Aspire card. Have fun!

I'm on the Chase site (I already have an account from an old personal card) and for the life of me, I cannot find where the secure message area is. Can you possibly point me in the right direction?

Good luck!

I was able to SM to expedite my first biz card from my personal account. I did it for DH's too. I selected "other" as the account, then they make you type in the account number. So I typed in 999 or something like that. Wrote in the message that I was just approved for the Chase Ink Preferred, can you please expedite, and it worked! :D

I hate calling too. Speak to a live person?? The horror. 😱

Thanks so much!! Hope I can pull this off. Flying to Calif. end of Oct and would like to have American Airlines as an option and the points to use as Southwest flights are not great for our dates (times, layovers).

I agree, I think I'm one of the few that might be acquiring the AA points for actual flights. It's one of the two airlines that fly out of our local airport. To use SW we have to drive 2 hours which sometimes makes it worth it when you're talking 4 tickets but if I can get even 2 of the 4 on AA miles, I'll do that to not have to drive and park.
