Question on the Amex Lowe's offer. This is the offer I have saved:

"Get 10% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Business Card on eligible purchases in-store at Lowe's or online at Lowes.com by 6/30/2019. Limit of $100 in total statement credits. See terms for exclusions."

So does this mean that anything I purchase from Lowes up to $1000 in purchases, even if they're separate purchases, I will get 10% back on? Can anyone confirm it works on separate purchases and it's up to $1000 in purchases, not $100 in purchases? I was reading the DGC thread and think I confused myself because they kept referring to $100 gift cards.

Also, I was waiting to use this because I usually buy some gardening stuff there in the spring, I could go ahead and buy some DGCs now and still get 10% back later?

Sorry if these are basic questions, it just seems almost too good to be true :goodvibes

Oh, and also I had my DH check while he was there, our Lowe's doesn't sell Kroger so no extra savings there unfortunately.
Works on separate purchases and on up to $1000 in purchases :) It just credits a few days after each purchase until you receive $100 in credits.

That's funny, Houston is my least likely place! It was accurate for me with Providence. Most distinctive answer: What do you call the thing from which you might drink water in a school? A Bubbler!
I have never heard the term 'bubbler' for a water fountain lol!

Ummm isn’t it just “you guys”??!!! Lol

Pegged me exactly Boston/Worcester or Providence. I’m right between Boston and Worcester.

Are we the only people that call them rotaries???? I never knew that was weird!!!
I know, I got Providence for bubbler and Boston for rotary. I didn't think that was weird either! I also put "you guys", hahaha

This seems like an obvious question, but if I take the upgrade offer on my SPG personal, I should be able to use my current card immediately towards the spend right?
as long as your card is transitioned to the new card on your amex account, u cant start using it to meet MSR.

@Albort How long does Yelp cashback take?
about a month and a half.

I haven’t done POR but I was scared to do the internal bus at the moderates and I honestly found it to be fine. I’d rather that than a value. Even the last stop at CSR everyone got seats except one time. I feel like I’m always standing on the bus at values.

I wonder if it's better if you don't go at peak times? For example, if we aren't exhausted, we will hang out in MK for an hour or so after the fireworks are over; it sure beats standing in line for a bus. I'm thinking we will feel less impacted by a sprawling resort/longer bus rides this trip as well since it's more laid back and we won't be doing rope drop to close like we normally do. We will probably be slightly less exhausted lol.

When I was in junior high we went to NY for a missions trip and there was a group of kids from Wisconsin. They called a water fountain a bubbler and we thought it was so funny

I've taken the dialect quiz before and it always pegs me right on.

Anyone up for weighing in on my indecisive Disney planning saga?

I had a bounceback booked for our trip in July - Garden View room at POR for $208/night. I was swept up in the Free Dining frenzy, cancelled my BB offer and booked the same room type at POR with the Free Dining offer. Original cost was ~$4,700, BUT I have to call because it won't let me change DS1's age on the computer, and he will turn 10 in May. So I expect the price to go up a few hundred dollars. My plan is to pay for the trip using discounted GC and possibly cash out URs.

Now I'm having cold feet about; 1. POR and 2. Free Dining. Like many of you here, i prefer to MAXIMIZE. So, even though DH and DS1 have requested Sci-Fi, I'm having a hard time booking it since I know it's a terrible value on the DDP. This is why we rarely do the DDP - although I do appreciate the convenience. I feel pressure to get the most out of the dining plan. We've never stayed at POR before (only POP, and the boys and I stayed at FQ in November). I'm a little intimidated by the size of POR and the internal bus stops, especially after @disneymagicgirl 's review a few days ago. Here are the options I'm now considering:

  • CSR in the brand new tower (standard view) for $1,659 + UT 6 day tickets ($1,693 for base, $1,956 for PH)
  • CSR in a preferred room $1,854 + UT 6 day tickets ($1,693 for base, $1,956 for PH)
  • Leave it alone and stay at POR
We've never had PHs before, but when I told DH we would have them this time, he was looking forward to that. So, I think I will probably keep them. The boys and I stayed at FQ in November and I LOVED the theme there and the boat to DS. I definitely want to stay at a moderate, since this will be a laid back trip and we want to spend time at the pool. Switching to CSR would also open me up to being able to grab a Priceline deal closer to time for a deluxe if one pops up. I don't think I could do that having a package booked if it's after the 60 day mark for FPs - but maybe I'm wrong on that?

I need to figure this out pretty soon to see if I need to switch gears and not obtain anymore Disney GCs. Right now, I have $1,425 in Disney GC that I obtained for $1,016, or a 29% savings (some of that discount is increased due to free SB VGCs). That amount can go to dining and other expenses if I choose to ditch my free dining package.
Will your 10 year old eat like an adult? Because I would just leave them as 9. No one will card them lol! I did that with my 10 year old a few years back he preferred the kids meals at sit downs anyways and you could order any counter meal with the plan

We’ve stayed at pop, csr, por, and pofq and never had any major problems with buses. We just stayed at pofq in January and I think the bus only went to por one time. We always get to the bus stop at least an hour before the park opens and always leave a little while after park close to let people clear out. I wouldn’t swear off a value based on busing because pop had fantastic busing and I like that they have designated lines for each park

What are rotaries??

Would you still say "you guys" if talking to a group of ladies?

My dd's college roommate is also from Wisconsin, and he calls them that too. They make fun of him LOL.
Back when people were cool and used msn messenger, we added all of them and kept in touch for awhile after the trip

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I know you kid but it definitely wasn't targeted at anybody :) I do know that some people like to operate anonymously online (I am one of them). So the thought of actually sending somebody a picture of a mailer with their name and address on it doesn't fly! I figured I'd share that as a tip.

Was the mailer addressed to you or your husband?

haha, ya. I definitely like being anonymous - had a bad instance years ago in high school of almost being catfished by an ex-boyfriend, and since then have tried to hide my identity online.

The mailer was addressed to me. Citi AA seems to love me, I don't know why. I've got a whopping 17k AA pts and haven't flown them in over 10 years, but I regularly get personal mailers - practically biweekly. Maybe it's because I tease AA by making small purchases on their shopping portal to keep my points alive. This is the first time I've gotten a biz mailer, though.

Ah that dialect quiz nailed me. It told me my most distinguishing answer was using the word pop...

Works on separate purchases and on up to $1000 in purchases :) It just credits a few days after each purchase until you receive $100 in credits.

Thank you! I knew someone who at least talks like they're from Wichita and calls pop by the right word wouldn't let me down! :rotfl2::thumbsup2
