How quickly does the $200 AA statement credit post on the Citi AA Biz? Bought a $200 GC a couple days ago. DPs seem scattered.

Super easy. I did 3 $25 bill pay pushes to my Amex account, waited 75 days, and got the bonus. No problem at all.

The nice thing is, BB&T's interface was really nice (to me anyway). Almost made me consider switching to them.

How did you meet the DD requirement? Would it work if I transferred the $$ from my Chase account (ACH)? Not sure if this will work with BB&T.

One more reason that I switched careers. My degree is in elementary education. It is ridiculous.

I know this was answered but for any newbies, you don;t want to take advantage of every transfer bonus that comes along. You may wind up with orphaned points that will expire. If Amex MR is offering a transfer bonus to a hotel or airline you don't want to jump on it just because. Make sure the transfer bonus fits into your goals and plans.

IMO the Bonvoy card is better because of the free night cert. I would consider the Hilton cards as a long term strategy once past 5/24 of getting each card's SUB and upgrading each card as well. I'm still working on that strategy.
I didn’t know you used to be a teacher. The testing really is getting ridiculous. Why should we be teaching first graders how to test so often instead of how to have social skills

@DisneyMandC You're doing the $200 BB&T bonus, right? No promo code was required at opening? I know BB&T is once per household, but I did this one before we moved into our current apartment so I'm thinking of rolling the dice on this with DW since it's pretty easy.

DPs are scattered on BB&T so I just used a real DD for peace of mind.

A little rumor from the Disneyland side of the boards that ROTR is plagued with issues on both coasts and will not be opening even close to the originally scheduled times link The user who posted this is a regular contributor over there, I know nothing about the source of their rumor though. Logically it would make that whirlwind early opening SWL announcement of last week make a lot more sense...

Yup, just signed up for that one. Just did the direct link from DoC. I'm a little concerned though because I did one with DH's name and selected that I was already a client so I could link it to the login for our mortgage. It autopopulated DH's name when I logged in after that, but after I completed everything for the sign up it's not showing up when I login to our mortgage account. It only let me do a $250 push from Ally to start the account, so I guess I'll have to do another push later to hit the $1500 amount so I don't get charged the monthly fee. Changing my DD at work is too complicated.

My husband is a total perfectionist, and crappy house building/finishing/repairing/updating makes him crazy!!!! He would never pay anyone do to any of our work, because no one lives up to his high standards LOL.
I’m kinda crazy Type A but found a contractor more type A than me. When we remodeled our kitchen (gutted it, had to start from brick since there was no insulation) we would agree on something and it looked good. I would come home from work to him saying “I didn’t like it, so I tore it out and redid it”. The electrician screwed up big time and the contractor was over with multiple fixture options in an hour or so. He stopped at Home Depot and picked a bunch of stuff to try out, no questions.

All this remodel talk makes me so anxious because we’re in the middle of a huge one right now and are freaking out over the amount of rain we’ve had lately and having no roof on our house. This company has done a lot of work in the area and we had several first hand recommendations for them... but still when you walking through seeing everything in pieces and so much getting wet it’s disconcerting :scared:

@Haley R I live in Winter Garden and used to work off of Sand Lake a little further out than your DH would be. I didn't find the commute bad at all. In general it seemed traffic was flowing the opposite direction I was traveling. I also worked 730-4 so that helped a bit. If you want new construction then over here in the Hamlin area is where all the big growth is. It's pretty nuts how much construction is happening.
Also, the library system here is really awesome. When we bought our house 8 years ago I looked into the Dr Phillips area next to the library because I loved it so much, but it was all older condos. Then I was looking recently at new construction in downtown Winter Garden next to that library, but it was more than I wanted to spend probably because the location is so amazing. You don't even need to be near a library though because anytime you request a book they deliver it to your house for free!
I've been living in the Windermere / Winter Garden area since 2006 and I highly recommend it. Did a year over near Universal and hated it, even though it was a quick drive to my office at the time.
Dh would most likely work 7-3 or 8-4. He likes to go in early so he can get done sooner. When I was looking at schools in winter garden a lot of them were 7’s and the higher rated schools were further away. Am I looking at the wrong area? The elementary in doctor Phillips is rated a 9.

A good library is essential for me! I go through books like crazy. What did you not like about the universal area?

Dh got his flight details today for his interview!! It’s gonna be a little rough for him because our band plays until 1 am and we have a 2 1/2 hour drive home. Then his flight leaves out of a different city an hour away at 12 pm. Luckily it’s a small airport and his interview isn’t until the next day. He won’t get back home until the next day at 11 pm or later

Several happy DPs on Reddit today of no-pop-up denied bonuses unexpectedly posting on Amex cards:

@schmass - I know this issue affected your Amex Gold, and @speedyfishy - your P2 was hit. Anyone affected, go check your accounts.
I cannot be the only one thinking those bonuses weren’t awarded due to that old (not so old?) Amex technical glitch of random bonuses not tracking but customer service reps just latched onto the new gaming language because that was easier to claim than to try to track down a bonus the computer failed to track? IF that’s the case it’s entirely possible Amex never intended to screw people over by approving them without a pop and then denying the bonus...

Our elementary school (Independence) has only been open for two full years so there might not be much info on it, but it earned an A rating both years. My son isn't in school yet so I haven't investigated too much. I know Whispering Oaks, which is nearby, is the highest rated elementary in the county.

I didn't like the Universal area because it was just too congested, too many tourists. Everything just seemed older and not well kept. Just a lot of chain restaurants and stores and not a lot of community.

Need some input on the best way to do disney next year for a week on points. Have about 300k UR points and a CSR but looks like that plan is basically over, thanks chase. I would love to do free dining next year as I have about $1500 in gift cards saved up and would just book disney direct at that point. If no free dining, I'm thinking a disney springs area hotel for the perks, maybe hilton and try to get gold status for free breakfast. Best way to get a bunch of points to cover it? Any alternative ideas? Maybe swan, dolphin and how to go about? I'd have no problem spending 4-5k for msr. Thanks
