1. It doesn't appear to matter whether it's open or not
2. Nobody really knows the answer there - the lower the better to be honest. If you have multiple biz cards, I'd reduce all but 1 to a very low level and maybe leave 1 at $10k. This will increase your odds of auto-approval while also leaving you enough limit to move some over to get approved.
3. It doesn't seem to matter, you could change the name up if you fee better about it...but many report it's unnecessary

Also - THANK YOU for following up with the detail on the report. That definitely is a positive confirmation for what we expected, CIC, CIU and other biz cards should not affect utilization in any way, and most times it is just confusion when somebody thinks it does (and that's ok!)

My dh ;) opened a second CIP ..with the first CIP open ..but with an EIN...so not sure about the middle initial or not

I’ve lowered my CL across both business and personal to around 30% of household income before new applications
AUTO-APPROVED for CIP #2!!!

Before I applied I called Chase to have my SW Biz CL lowered to $1500 (I probably won't ever use that card again). So excited I don't have to call the status line every half hour this time!

ETA: What is the best way to have it expedited? I've only done this once and it seemed like a confusing thing to do with the Chase rep.

Wow - CONGRATS!!! What did you do with the name?? MI or no MI?

Hi All -
I've been lurking since May 2018 and have learned a lot from you all - thank you! I am in need of some direction for upcoming cards. Here our our stats -
P1 -
04/18 CSP
12/18 Chase Freedom
01/19 SW Personal

P2-
04/18 CSP (added as authorized user before I realized I should not have, if i remove does the 24 month rule apply for P2 to get own card in future?)
06/18 CIP
09/18 Chase Freedom Unlimited
01/19 SW Priority

Spend about $4000/mo on cards-We don't eat out often and most of our grocery budget goes to Costco.
Payoff CC in full each month
SW preferred airline and they service main airport
No hotel rewards program preference
Currently have about 260,000 UR all pooled into CIP account
Churning goals - Hawaii 2nd half of 2020
Travel party - 2 adults and 2 children (16 and 11)

P1 just applied for CIP and got the "under review" message. Looking for recommendations for cards going forward for P1 and P2.

Any interest in SW CP pass, do you fly frequently? A SW bus may make sense for both given your SW personal cards this year. You need to earn 110,000 RR in a calendar year to get the CP. Would need to hold off on this for P1 given the CIP app.

ETA: I would probably hold off on applying until at least next month, to keep apps at least 3 months apart.

Hi there - WELCOME! I’m happy to help give some guidance.

What offers did you do for your P1 SW “Personal” (was that plus, Premier our priority) and your P2 SW Priority? Was it the 40k offer?

Yes, the ultimate goal is for both P1 and P2 to get CP but no immediate travel plans so not sure if it is smarter to go ahead and get the CP's or to continue to gather UR.

We do owe taxes this year - what is the thought on paying for taxes with a CC? I know there is a fee involved but i believe the potential CC rewards outweigh the fee.

Since SW is your preferred airline..would the SW CP be of interest you need to earn 110k RR points in a calendar year
P2 could apply now or next month for the SW business card..bonus is 60k RR points....and P1 could apply 2-3 months after the CIP...so your kids could fly free..

I would recommend going for the SW bus first if the CP is the ultimate plan as you don't want to wait and apply for others to be denied for the SW bus later-as that is pretty much the only way to get a CP unless you put on major spend on the cards or fly a ton.

The tax question you have to determine for yourself. Depends on the fee for paying and if you are on a MSR or not. I don't pay my taxes with a CC, just hasn't been worth it given the fee. I will pay my water with a CC if I can at least make a little on the transaction even if it is 0.5%, but I try to never pay more for something just because I have a MSR to meet, unless I can make the math work in my favor.

P1 has the SW Plus and P2 has the SW Priority. Both P1 and P2 got the 50k inflight offer and the minimum spends on each have been met.

Since you opened the personal SW cards in 2019..if your interested in the CP you’d have to open the business cards this year for the 60k RR bonus to count towards the 110k RR points you need for the CP with the 50k you earned on the personal cards you’d have the CP until 12/31/20

Someone is also quite sure that Goofy is a cow due to a family discussion and looking it up. Not sure what they googled cause it's clear by doing so that he's a dog. That was the 3rd part of his question, with the other about whether chili is a stew, soup or sauce, but really I think it's just chili. Anyway, Goofy as a cow is just ridic and worse than someone saying a hot dog is a sandwich.

LOL that's insane. Are they thinking about Clarabelle?

Awesome move!! Well you are both just a SW business card away from a Companion Pass then! (You probably already realized that). I’d take care of that sooner rather than later just to make sure you get approved and get it. Maybe have P2 go for it in April and then P1 could get SW Biz in June/July after a little time passes from the CIP.

Also - would you like an invite to join our Reddit DISchurners group?

Good point - sounds like P2 should go for SW biz and P1 should go for SW biz in 2-3 months depending on outcome of CIP application
