2 Questions:

1. Why do I get an error when trying to transfer P2's biz points to her CSR? I try to add her as a household member by putting her name and card number in and get an "unexpected error".

2. Is it better to call or SM Chase to have my CIP expedited? Or should I not do it at all since I now have 2 of them? We are headed to WDW on the 16th and I'm pretty sure we can put a dent in the MSR but don't want to draw attention to this.

I tried helping my SIL out with the Sams deal because she said she has an AMEX, but her deal is spend $50 and get 1,000 in points. She doesn't even use their points or know how to use them.

Have you already transferred points to her CSR from a different card? If so, transfer the points in question to that card first, and then move them to her CSR. And, every time you get a new card, put it in at the beginning of the chain. Sometimes the system seems to be happier when each card receives points from & sends points to only one other card

With discussion on Sam's Club gift cards for the new members, if it helps here's my recent comparison chart I shared with the GC thread the other day :

Up to 4.7% off when buying online. To be most effective most pair that with a rewards CC or another discounted GC and shopping portals/apps to get a higher return. Here's my comparison chart between BJ's and Sam's Club - the only places I'm aware of that sell a discounted Disney GC.



Sam's online $150 3pk is still the best, but I did notice that Bj's lowered the $500 GC to the 479.99 online. I think a few people reported getting that in stores not too long ago? My stores haven't updated any tags yet so I don't know for sure if it's the same all over.

Personally, if you can buy anything at Sam's for the same price you'd have bought it elsewhere anyway, then I considered it a free membership for the year. I used my $45 credit on products I'd have bought from BJ's or Target anyway so that money would have been spent regardless. Now anything else I get is gravy, like discounted GCs

It’s a stretch for us but here’s my strategy:

• Obviously our regular organic spend
• Meet MSR and pay ahead on my cable for the year with CIC for 5x URs
• County property taxes are due (only $375 though)
• Annual homeowners will be due soon
• 6mo Auto insurance will be due soon
• Previously paid 6mo ahead on all utilities. Can pay the remainder of the year in a couple months.
• Will owe something on federal, state, and local taxes.

That should all take care of $8k-$9k of the spend. The rest could be handled with buying some gift cards or some other expenses that I can’t anticipate at this point. It’s definitely the max of where I’d want to be on total MSR as I’m not one to do MS either.

Still working on MSR for second AA Biz & just paid car insurance. Homeowners due in October, taxes in July. Also just paid taxes on rental property with AA Biz. Can’t pay utilities ahead here. Great ideas, all.

I needed to modify the dates on a 7 night Marriott travel certificate I had attached by one day. Put if off because Marriott. Called this evening, entire call took 4 and a half minutes. And that includes the portion where she said that will be 300k points and I reminded her this was under a travel rewards certificate and then she straightened it out. The points in my account are right. The confirmation in my account is right. I would be scared except when I called the number on my reservation my gold status self got "Thank you for calling Marriot Titanium Elite Bonvoy" so I know all is well!

It's not just the card...the engraved wooden block, having the ugly paperwork neatly tucked away in a gray sleeve on a box....so sleek

It's also funny because this whole time DH has been so skeeved out by CCs and now he actually is excited to USE one out in the REAL WORLD (where before I've been like 'Look at this see-through BBP!' and he's like 'that's nice.')

Yep - it'll credit back when your statement closes. It does technically count in the MSR but I'd recommend you spend that amount above the MSR just to be safe
