FYI anyone selling giftcards DO NOT sell to Cardpool. Doc posted a while back right after I sold them 2 cards in January that people were having issues. I had sold to them in November with no issues quick payout. Apparently they were sold and it’s gotten really bad. I sold to them 1/24 and my order remained in review. I went on vacation and completely misplaced the dang cards so I was stuck. Multiple emails, a phone call and NO ONE responded. Finally took to Twitter and FB. Said my check is coming in 3-5 days. I’ll believe it when it arrives. Stick with Cardcash or Raise.

I briefly listed a card with them a month ago and then pulled it. I read all the horror stories on r/churning. I'm going to link your comment to the DISchurners news thread for visibility.

It unintentionally worked for me last summer. I had a reservation in OCMD and ended up canceling and kept checking my CC for the refund and checked my Choice rewards and saw my balance had jumped. I actually called Choice since I had not been expecting it.

Do you recall how much they charged per point? I don't have any points in my account right now, so unfortunately, I can't check myself. Curious.

So not sure if it’s worth it but.... I was in AA.com and on there banner was a link to get 30k AA points for opening a citi checking account. Looks like open the account, spend 400 dollars using the debit card and download the app. Then within 90 days the 30k will post. Just a heads up.

Knock on wood, I've had DH and DD check in for reservations I've made. So shouldn't be an issue from my experience.

They can't respond to the SM because they shut the SM system down, LOL. But in typical Citi fashion, you can still access the SM system AND they will read your messages and do something about them. It's HILARIOUS when you think about it

My BIG redemption before Marriott’s category change tomorrow?

Booked the Residence Inn Anaheim, while it’s still Cat 5 and 35k points, for a quick trip to Disneyland in August to celebrate DD turning 6... and Galaxy’s Edge?! Used 2x 35k FN certs from my SPG Biz and Marriott Biz, and points for the rest.

Interestingly, the SpringHill Suites next door is not going up from Cat 5 to 6, so it should still be bookable at a standard rate of 35k points (and redeemable using the 35k FN certs). We picked the Residence Inn because, I guess, with the impending category change, I felt like I was getting a better value out of being able to book it at 35k/night (eta: even though the cash price was about the same as the SpringHill Suites)?

Yay!

I’m hoping none of the other Anaheim resorts goes up before I can book for 2020.

I just sold one on cardoool with no issue but after these dps I would do raise in the future.

The reason I used cardpool instead of raise though was raise wouldn’t list it for 45 days.

Working on catching up since I'm over 100 pages behind after a crazy few weeks. About 3 weeks ago I started running fever, feeling very tired and throat was burning so I headed in to urgent care thinking it was flu. Flu test was negative and dr said there was no reason to test for strep. He gave me antibiotics and cough syrup and sent me on my way. Still felt pretty bad for a few days, but things finally seemed to subside about 4 days later. Same evening I started to feel somewhat like myself I again I got a call from my mom saying my grandma was being admitted to the hospital because they thought she was having seizures. She said she was heading there (about a half hour away from where we live) and she would keep me posted,but not to worry too much because they should be able to get it under control. Just 10 minutes after we hung up she called back very frantic saying things took as turn for the worst anx the doctors didnt expect her to make it through the night. Unfortunately neither myself or my mom made it to the hospital before she passed. I was about 10 minutes away when I got a call from my aunt with the news. That was definitely a muddled evening after that, as were the next several days. Fast forward 4 more days and DS 7 tells us he had a really bad headache. I reach out to touch his head and he is burning up with a 103.8 temp. Took him in to urgent care and he was positive for flu. Got meds for him and headed home. His fever kept spiking to above 103 several times over the next 24 hours, so that was rough. So hard when kiddos are sick and there isn't much we can do for them. DH and I spent the next week rotating days off work to be with him. Luckily things started getting better around a week mark and he's just about back to himself.

Our schools are out this week for Mardi Gras, so technically he got a 2 week break for the holiday. Hoping it's not too bad getting us all babk to our normal routine by next week. With such tumultuous weeks, we have been all over the place, sleeping in and unable to sleep at night.

In CC news, I made a rookie mistake with my SW biz for CP. Already got the SUB (still can't get used to this one) on my in-flight SW Plus. Was just waiting for the one from my biz card, but I completely forgot the MSR on that one is $3000 and not $2000 like the personals. I always try to make a point to go a good bit over on MSR just in case of returns or something, but I was just about $300 shy of the $3000 when my statement cut on 2/20. Ugh. So now I have to wait until 3/20 statement for the rest of the points I need for CP. Already have flights booked for our April WDW trip and was waiting to add DH as my companion. Decided to just go ahead and use points to book him, then I'll call in once CP posts.

It's really only going to matter if you are doing a positioning flight. From Seattle to either destination you'll need to connect somewhere. For Italy you're looking at most likely going through a major east coast airport and costa rica I'd look more at ATL, Dallas and Miami. But again, if you are flying from Seattle and want to go straight through without a positioning flight somewhere it doesn't matter, just search 1 stop flights and it'll put you in whatever hub the airline uses for those flights.

The 10k MR from the AT&T offer on my Biz Plat were in my account this morning, so I went ahead and make a second $175 prepayment on our personal AT&T wireless account. No confirming email like last time, but I'll assume it worked since it was the exact same transaction as the last one....

In other news, I cancelled DH's CSP after I saw the $95 AF hit his account. It is now zeroed out and closed!

And this is older news, but I also received the 20k MR from referring DH to the BBP from my Biz Gold. I've decided to go ahead and try to meet the MSR on that one in a half-a**ed way and see how it goes. So hard for me to leave potential points on the table even though I'm not necessarily looking to up DH's MR balance. I figure we'll find some favorable redemption for them.

I was always on the fence about this when my father passed away suddenly of a heart attack when I was 21 and didn't get to say goodbye but after watching my father-in-law suffer from brain cancer and my stepfather from bladder cancer for some period before passing, I think I prefer not watching those I love suffer. I like to think my wonderful FIL held on until the 14th so he wouldn't pass away on DS's birthday.

There is no good way. It is so hard, no matter what. TBH, I think it might be a touch easier for those left to be able to say goodbye when someone passes. But agreed, watching my dad pass from cancer was awful. He made it a few months past my parents 50th anniversary but it was an awful couple months. My dad’s mom was never hospitalized (except for a car accident in her 70’s) and developed pneumonia at almost 91. She was hospitalized on Sunday night and passed away early Monday morning before I got to see her. I’d still rather that than her suffering.
