Interview with Southwest CEO on CNBC. Briefly discussed Hawaii.

• It wasn’t a glitch yesterday, many flights to HI sold out in a day
• Plane that flies to HI is capable of going to the UK but SW has no desire to fly beyond North and South America. No plans for Europe or Asia.
• Long term they’re interested in international codeshares where they service the domestic portions
• Current concentration is on the CA/HI route, SW plan of expansion is to run the same playbook they’ve run when they’ve expanded before
• Mentioned how CA is a huge market for SW (explains all the CA centric promos, now if they could just realize FAT exists!!)

Are you going for end of August near Labor Day? I am so afraid since the last time we were there at that time we got the hurricane. What a mess that was, as you surely remember.

I wish we could go in late August/early Sept but with two kids in college, I just can't have them missing that much school Our current dates are aug 6-15/16.

Yes, Irma was such a mess! Between that and my dd being sick and me having to take her to urgent care, I feel like that whole trip was just a blur.

You guys have no idea how close I was to strangling DH over Irma, because it was right before the wedding and he checked for updates like ever half hour.

Barclays will not pull your credit again - they will merely update your app with whatever information they need - so you are fine to also apply for the Citi AA biz anytime you want. Barclays won't see the hard pull from Citi unless they explicitly need to pull your credit again (which they will tell you, and is also unusual).

Great! I will go ahead and apply for the Citi AA business as well!

LOL, DD is a senior in high school and technically lives with me but half of the time the only reason I know where she is is by stalking her credit card charges!

That said, I just checked her credit karma and her oldest account is 11 years old and she's under 5/24 with an 808 score so guess it's not all bad

Thank you all so much for the kind words, condolences, and thoughts. It's truly appreciated. My grandma had just turned 85 in January and while she hasn't been in the best of health over the last few years, this was very sudden for us all. Having lost loved one both unexpectedly and after being sick over a good length of time, I'm honestly not sure if one is easier than the other. The one good thing is she did not suffer as it all happened so fast. Thank goodness for that!

Hoping we've gotten rid of the flu in our house. It really feels like I'm finding out another friend or family member has it almost every other day. My sister was diagnosed with it the same evening of my grandma's funeral, then her son just a few days after her. My SIL and BIL are at WDW with their family now and had to go to urgent care today. My nephew woke up with fever and tested positive for flu. They arrived Friday and are staying until Saturday. At least he got in a few park days. They plan to spend the rest of the week hold up in their cabin at the Fort.

As I'm getting nearer to our April trip, I really need to decide if I'm finally going to cash out my URs to my Chase checking to pay off that trip. I know I keep saying this, but I keep talking myself out of it. Thing is, I won't be using those URs for anything else (at least nothing I can think of at this point) and my primary purpose for them has always been Disney. It's been long enough that Disney hotels have been gone from the UR portal, you'd think I'd be over it and could just cash out. Every time I log on and I'm about to do it, I can't go through with it. Maybe I need to have DH go online and do the redemption for me. Guess I need to catch up on the GC thread to find some good deals there.

Can they just announce the dang ending date for Illuminations so I can finalize that trip?!?!?! I don't really want to deal with SW crowds.

Illuminations is ending? I didn't know that. I'm not exactly current on my WDW news obviously. Planning on just 2 park days next February before our cruise - was kinda looking forward to fireworks at Epcot.

This is an important distinction really. My mom passed unexpectedly - went to work and collapsed. Then I spent the next 6 months watching my grandma give up and fade away. She'd been battling cancer for over 10 years.

It's being replaced with a new show so you might still get Fireworks!

Omg, our flights home were canceled and we were scrambling to find replacement flights. We found 1 seat into Boston, and at the time DD was only 1 so she could sit on my lap so I took it. Our car was parked at PVD in RI so my dad had to pick us up. DH rented a car and drove to his brother's house in North Carolina and caught a flight home the next day!

FYI anyone selling giftcards DO NOT sell to Cardpool. Doc posted a while back right after I sold them 2 cards in January that people were having issues. I had sold to them in November with no issues quick payout. Apparently they were sold and it’s gotten really bad. I sold to them 1/24 and my order remained in review. I went on vacation and completely misplaced the dang cards so I was stuck. Multiple emails, a phone call and NO ONE responded. Finally took to Twitter and FB. Said my check is coming in 3-5 days. I’ll believe it when it arrives. Stick with Cardcash or Raise.
